I've had that or more on at least 8 occasions. Definitely not hacking.

The new spawn changes as seen throughout the game by most players currently and also confirmed by Hicks here: http://imgur.com/a/URaPv has been done too soon! Not only are they forcing players to run through the wilderness, prolonging the journey to actual military areas but with item spawns still disabled and player count so low this change will make DayZ even more barren due to no close centralized areas. Turn off these new spawns and revert back to the old ones until item respawns are active and player count is up to 60-75 people. Don't make the SA more tedious than it already is for testers!

I'd like to have any idea whats going on around me but the problem with a kill feed is it's an easy confirm. I always used it back in the mod as a way to know for certain that the person I shot is dead and didn't manage to survive.

I have to agree, most of the weapons seem unrealistically ineffective. I'm pretty sure If I hit a zombie in the side of the head full force with a pipe wrench the size of my arm elbow deep they're not just going to shrug it off. Firemans Axe overall does more damage, and while the damage difference is probably minimal when hitting a player when engaging a zombie only the fire axe has the capability of 1 shotting anywhere on the body.

Boost your FPS ingame and reduce lag in SA
maliceubx replied to DRiNVAD3R's topic in General Discussion
I've tried all these settings on release and have been using them since and the biggest one I noticed (without lowering it to 8bit graphics levels) was 'shadowZDistance=100' from 250. I jumped up about 8-10 FPS on average in small towns and wilderness and about 4-6 FPS in cities. -
Obviously the message I was trying to relay with the OP wasn't clear since most people took it as a 'QQ you're selfish all you wanna do is gear up and deathmatch' whining post. What I was trying to say was look at the previous patches and the towns you passed in - these were not small towns and apart from Berezino we now have a fraction of the initial loot options we had and yet try joining at full server during initial spawn locations and you were hard pressed THEN to find literally much of anything but rotten fruit and bunk melee weapons like crowbars. Now with these new spawn locations statistically there are less buildings for things to spawn in around the same walking proximity. I'm all for this change I just feel that with item respawns turned off it isn't going to simulate the proper experience because 3 out of 40 people three hours prior are going to loot a town and leave practically nothing and exactly nothing will respawn. All I'm saying is wait for item respawns before making us run 5 KM's through the wilderness to find a tiny empty town. Again, I'm not even talking about weapons and PVP here, I'm just talking about straight survival.

Well there IS going to be vehicles but for the most part it's more of a vanity item. You shoot it because it's fun to shoot, it's intimidating and it's absolutely ridiculous. I'm against the whole .50 sniper thing simply because it provides the ultimate choice in anti-personel / vehicle, but without scopes, sights or zeroing you're basically going to have to learn how this gun shoots, it won't be very effective against people but it will provide a solid choice for vehicle traps / fun factor shooting. I'm sure there could be a fix for this :p

I'm not sure what category it would fit in but I would LOVE to see the PTRS-41 in the game. Remove any ability to sight it, zero it or anything that might indicate distance but make it big, make it loud and make it rare. Would be a trophy gun of sorts that even those who wield it wouldn't have much of an advantage (could allow it to shoot through certain material without deviation).

Rolling Update Rev. 0.30.113925 M4 Gone?
maliceubx replied to Kit - Alpha Six's topic in General Discussion
Patch notes don't reflect it but I believe our previous patch notes prior to release was that M4's spawns are getting halved. -
Its in the game. I've never found one but two of my friends have.
-
Head Arm Torso Arm Abdomen GG E E L L I believe are the only hitboxes in this game but you also have glancing shots.

For all of those that want to raise the player limit
maliceubx replied to The Legit Pie's topic in General Discussion
Spawning near high value areas or in the middle of fields should definitely be avoided but I wouldn't be against spawning in small towns not AT the coast but near them. Also, my hopes are that once 100+ players are introduced into the server not only are coastal areas going to be complete hailstorms of death but they'll be so stripped there will be no reason to NOT go north anyways. -
Ringing ears! When you're shot or wounded badly adrenaline goes through the roof, and usually with that comes a big head rush. Sometimes you get ringing ears, sometimes you just get a muffling, either way I think it would be a very intense feeling to have, not only would you be disoriented by the shot but you'd also have a hard time getting your bearings as to where it came from. *it's nice to see thought-out ideas posted here instead of the usual whining and questions! my beans to you sir.

Lack of endgame options (repairing vehicles, helicopters) loot tiers (heli crashes, NWAF spawns), only 40 people in a map designed to support 150 as well as easily attained weapons and gear is obviously going to cause everybody boredom.

I think what concerns me most is people's interest in authenticity, and while (like I said in the OP) I do understand the need for some sort of realistic ballistics, gun mechanics as well as human damage we do have to take into consideration that this is a game. When I say 'this is a game' what I mean is it is important to not only support a little bit of realism but at the same time provide a well tiered gear driven system because that is what the game judges to be progress, and if a person is not pushed to want to pursue better, faster, rarer, more accurate weapons then progression tends to stagnate and we become a bunch of coastal dwellers fighting with our Winchesters, Mosins, lee's and other low-tier spawns. I feel that the way the system is now it does not support such a system. Also I am a big fan of the gun-game. While I can understand that getting the jump on someone can obviously spell death no matter the circumstance I think it's important to build the weapons/health system well enough to promote skill. By skill I mean movement tactics in and out of battle, knowing your weapon and ultimately outplaying your opponent to take home the victory. I do not want the game to end up being a series of instant deaths caused by whoever sees the other first, but I don't want it to end up like human sandbags eating round after round and still fighting back. There is a happy medium and I don't think we're there right now.

When you get past all the gameplay aspects of DayZ at the end of the day it's a human nature simulator... and humans are dicks. Take away all sense of responsibility, add in a dash of high risk high reward adrenaline filled combat and a general disregard for death (death penalties in this game just aren't what they used to be) and you're going to have a highly aggressive player base with little left to do but fight each other. This will remedy itself somewhat through additions to end-game as well as rarer gear and weapons (adding to the sense of loss) but all in all DayZ is a survival game where players are your biggest threat, not hunger, thirst, zombies or disease, and if you're not interested in that aspect of the game you're going to get very sick of it. Also, this isn't a 'fad' that is going to change - the community has been the way they are in DayZ since May 2012 and it won't change unless some dramatic mechanic is introduced. Once we see a higher player cap come into play (100-150) this is only going to get more dangerous, more cut throat.

This thread isn't about positioning, or your personal experience. I made this thread as a comparative between DayZ mod and DayZ SA and how I feel damage has been over-buffed / health has been under-nerfed. I don't think your slights against my assumed playstyle has any light here since no matter how 'Sam Fisher' you assume you are you're always going to get shot and killed at some point, which leads right back to my original point.

Weapon damage aside armed with a high powered scoped Mosin what incentive would you have for persuing a higher tier sniper (or weapon) once they become available? simply flavor?

might have been spawned in.

Maybe they're done testing it.
