Yeah might not be so bad if you had a box of, say 10 shells, that took up one inventory space that you could draw from. -

I dunno how great an idea this is but I'd actually replace the Winchester with the Double-Barrel completely or perhaps with a real life pump action. The Winchester 1866 isn't actually a shotgun :P -

People need to realize that you don't play the game to collect loot. You collect loot to make it easier to play the game. The goal of the game is survival. The equipment you find are just means to that end. -

Sooo you'd rather play on the stable build that has been debugged and tested extensively then do your part as a tester and play on the latest build that needs people to identify problems and make change suggestions? My dear I believe you are missing the point of the entire process. If it were up to me, I'd bar any servers from the central database until they had updated to the latest build of the mod. -

Food and drinks impossible to find since 1.7.1.1

We had the same problem tonight. No food, drinks or bandages. Found a few cans of beans and soda off of dead zombies but that was it. -
Beginning to realize that nice guys probably finish dead in Day Z. So I'm looking to see if anyone is interested in taking on a combat medic. I just lost a 15 day character thus I'll be starting new but know the ropes pretty well. Willing to keep you in fighting form, carry excess medical supplies and generally perform the grunt work until medical aid is required. Send me a PM or post here if interested and I'll look you up.

I like it. There are already antibiotics in the game so the fix is right there. They might have to become more common however. Maybe find them in homes as well as hospitals. It's not unheard of for people to have antibiotic medicine in their homes.

Having played for a few hours I'm liking the patch thus far. My only complaint would be the strange way zombies are presently spawning. They sometimes appear out of the blue fairly close to you. No so close that they'll instantly aggro, but close enough that you notice it and they're suddenly a threat. Also saw 2-3 zombies spawn on top of each other inside some buildings and there appears to be too many zombies spawning near isolated structures such as deer stands, lone houses, lone sheds etc. On a side note, prone still works wonders for avoiding the Zeds but isn't as over powered as it was before and zombies definitely can't detect you by sight from behind which is pretty awesome. Me and a buddy I met (first time I actually met a friendly!) managed to sneak through several towns and deer stands without aggroing zombies, so it is definitely possible.

Show me a major patch for a game that released without bugs and I'll show you 10 which haven't. Now with that in mind, also try to remember two things. One, that this is a mod. Rocket has to work around the quarks, bugs and limitations of the ArmA 2 engine. And two, that you are a Day Z pre-release tester, not a Day Z customer. If you don't like testing and debugging software then you should wait until the official Day Z release. That said, I know Rocket wants us to enjoy the mod and I have faith any major issues will be dealt with promptly.

Deer Stands aren't as good as military camps or the airfields but they are much much safer and spawn some decent loot. I've gotten frag grenades, an elite coyote pack, a DRM and an M9SD on top of a wealth of more common loot. What guards a deer stand? 0-3 zombies. Odds of running into another player? Fairly low. -
Is it in the cards to combine say two half full mags of the same type into a full mag? And can we get an ammo count on a mag in our inventory to see how many bullets are left in it? :D When you have time, after the clubbing and sex, of course :P

So far anyone I've met while travelling alone has, at best, left me alone and went a separate direction and at worst taken shots at me. However finding a group (out of game) to travel with was a lot of fun. I'd seriously recommend joining or creating a group to survive with and be generally distrustful of anyone you meet outside your group. Distrustful to the point where if you suddenly bump into someone you don't know, probably best to be the one who fires first. -

Just lost a lot of stuff but the 2 Frags, a silenced M9, Coyote Elite and antibiotics are probably the worst of it. That's not the hardest part though. The worst part was I could have survived if I hadn't hesitated. Could have taken the guy fairly easily but it wasn't my way to shoot first. Sadly he had other ideas. -

I just got killed after surviving 15 days by a guy I saw a hundred meters away. Neither of us shot right away but after maybe two seconds he opened fire and I was dead. If I hadn't been a nice guy I'd probably still be alive. Starting to see why not giving a damn about other people might be the way to go. -
