  1. They should change it so if you only have Z aggro, if you logout you go into stasis mode where stay online for 5 mins or until you log back in (whichever is shorter). While you are in this stasis mode, zeds don't attack you, but you can be attacked and killed by other players. Basically make it so you can log quickly if needs be, but you'll only suffer the chance of being killed through pvp rather than pve.

    DayZ Mod 1.7.5.1 Update

<--- Agree with the above poster. Supermarkets prior to this patch were the best place for getting an Alice pack. Unfortunately they now only spawn packs with a max of 12 slots. Now they're only really good for getting drinks cans because having to use water bottles, empty cans & fires is a PITA. 80L+ backpacks are common in city center outdoors shops and even some of the bigger supermarkets, so no idea why the Alice pack was nerfed and removed from the supermarket/civilian loot table. What I'm worried about with the patch is that the developers are maybe changing things purely for the sake of change rather than the good of the game. How about getting some feedback from players before implementing changes that are obviously pissing a lot of people off. Also, how about communicating a bit more about the changes, one line patch note descriptions for some quite drastic changes are really not good enough. It's better to admit mistakes than to be obstinate.

You know you've played too much DayZ when...

When you start walking on the grass verge, not the pavement.
  4. Aha thanks, Vilayer have said that they hope to get the new functionality if place this week.
  5. Sorry for being a bit dumb here! In the MPMissions directory I have a dayz_1.chernarus folder containing the following: gcam subdirectory description.ext file init.sqf file mission.sqm file There are also other dayz_1.xxxxx (xxxx = different map name) folders in the MPMissions. As far as files go, there are dayz_2.xxxxx.pbo files (the numbers I think represent instances if running multiple maps). Should I rename the dayz_1.chernarus folder and download the new .PBO file, rename it to dayz_1.chernarus and place it into the MPMission folder?
  6. My control panel doesn't (as far as I can see) have the ability to upload mission PBO's. I do however have full access using a java remote desktop. I tried updating the PBO (amongst other files) but this didn't seem to work.
  7. Do you have any information about loading 1.7.5.1 onto your Virtual Dedicated Game Servers please. The server came pre-installed with 1.7.4.4. but I am unable to update it. Thanks

    New 80M aggro radius.

Shame the majority of the people arguing against the OP couldn't be bothered to read what he/she was actually complaining about. Basically in 'theory' if you have a 10 zombies aggroing you, you can't lose them unless you lose all of them. Losing 9 of them will mean that the 1 that you didn't lose will call on the other 9 (and any others in the area too) to reaggro you.

  11. Is there any chance of adding me to the old UK#10 (94.242.227.218:2362) whitelist too please. I've added the new server to DayZ Commander but not getting a ping as of yet.

    Horse sound?

I always thought the 'horse' noise was a nearby animal and the sound of the tin cans rattling was a zombie spawning.

    winchenster ammo

Agreed - crazy that the standard chance is 4% for LE Mag and 2% for 1866 Slugs - it's worse that there is a 5% chance for the 2Rnd Slugs and Pellets!
  15. I've had this problem too. Logging off a non-private/hive server and finding myself as a new spawn when logging in again.
  16. OK, I posted a few days ago about a character being reset after I had logged out/quit DayZ. This has happened 3 times in the last week, with the last happening after the following: Going to a safe spot with no aggro and pressing ESC. Getting a grey screen saying something like "You cannot logout" Unable to get back in game so exiting the game using Dayz Commander. Logging back in and on coast with respawn gear. When I mentioned this on side chat (UK410) I was told that you shouldn't quit using ESC! Exactly how should I quit the game without the chance of my character being reset? Carlos the Jackal

    Problem quitting DayZ

I wasn't in combat at all. I had killed a z about a minute beforehand and was just moved to a safe spot approx 400m from a town. My pistol wasn't flashing at all. The last time it happened was the only time the grey screen popped up. The 2 times prior to that everything seemed fine until I logged back in. I don't really mind glitches that much, it's just a real pain getting up north to respawn down south again :(
  18. Was on a night time non-hive (public) server with about 4 other players on and in the back of beyond. I logout to get a cuppa from downstairs and login again and it takes ages to get character info or something so I logon to another server and I end up reset in Kamarovo. Is there anyway I can look at logs to find out what happened? Thanks - Carlos the Jackal
  19. Was a shame really as I had NVG, DMR & 247 SAW :(
  20. How about instead of ragequitting (holding nothing of any value?!?!) you invest some time working out how the zombie aggro mechanics work. I know that a game has far more longevity for me when I learn the mechanics rather than being given everything on a plate. BTW, there are starter servers that provide weapons for new spawns. My advice, stay away from town or villages and concentrate on getting your starter gear from barns and deer stands. Probably the most important weapon to get 1st of all for a survivor is a hatchet. This can one shot a zombie and is silent. I really don't know why you created this thread though as you now say you're not so new anymore - you should know all this!!! Finally, how about learning to control your temper?
  21. Trying not to flame here, but ragequitting shows a distinct lack of maturity. I honestly don't know how anyone can ragequit for a few months after being killed by a group of NPC's (zombies). Personally I'd say that DayZ or any game that involves losing equipment (or the potential to) through death isn't your cup of tea. As far as hackers are concerned, I've had a few issues, mainly when I started a couple of months ago. Now I rarely see any, but that's not to say they aren't there. If you are determined to stay, a bit of advice, if you know there's a hacker on your server, login to another server. Complaining when you get killed by said hacker is a bit stupid. Of course all hackers should be kneecapped IMO.
