You said its been months since you logged in, by chance was that character from .49 stable build? When they patched to .50 stable, there was a wipe of existing characters. Sucks but its not hard to loot up again

Traveling junk dealer/Medic, I roam the map picking up various items and then I barter with people for more stuff. It may not be sexy like some play styles but I meet tons of interesting people and plenty of PvP. If I have clanmates or someone else to roll with I usually go looking for trouble at the airfields but I tend to shy away from the coast because shooting new spawns is no fun and kind of assholish

What happened to people putting panty hoes over their head to rob a bank or commit other felonious acts? I realize that maybe a thing of the 60's, 70's and 80's but its simple and effective for obscuring ones facial features and can help keep a bit of body heat in when its a bit cold outside

Depends, it will tell you if you're hungry, thirsty, bleeding, sick, stuffed and if you have a broken limb. When you're hungry/thirsty and you eat or drink, those status indicators may go away temporarily. If you are hurt or low on blood the only indication you will get is the blurry screen. When you eat and drink enough to get yourself light green energised and light green hydrated you will get the healing/healthy status. You will start to regain blood/health when this happens but it can take a few to get back to normal. Edit: it also tells you if you're cold, hot or if you have hypothermia and hyperthermia

Zeds aren't that hard to kill with the axes, farming hoe, sledge hammer, stun batons and cattle prods. All the other stuff requires you to get too close for my liking but I am growing quite fond of my brass knuckles. If you are having issues try circle strafing around the zeds. Clockwise or counter clockwise works and just keep hacking away until you get a hit or 2. Also if you encounter 2 or more, as long as you keep moving around them, they will beat on each other and make your job easier and yes their aggro ranges are quite crazy but they should stop if you break LOS, notice I said should and not will stop

Maybe they are still trying to discourage people from buying Dayz because its still alpha. Now that the first iterations of vehicles are in experimental more people may feel inclined to buy the game now and with the influx of new players comes more bitching about the development taking too long, not enough guns or other stuff to do like in the mod

People PvP in cherno and elektro because of convenience. All of the weapon spawn points in buildings as well as police stations, firehouses and office\school buildings mixed with the southern spawn points makes it a perfect setting. There are sniper spots in and on buildings as well as the surrounding landscape, so it brings all kinds who want to test their skills against people who are equally as bloodthirsty as they are

He just seems to have a different outlook on the game, while most of us are running around for loot/food/guns, he's more worried about the pigs and their safety. On a side note, was that toilet in a jail building? The reason I ask is I recently had a family member who was in Leavenworth prison and he said for 11 years there was one toilet in each block that was never used because those were the ones they used to make their "toilet wine". So hopefully you ate from the clean toilet....just food for thought

They are implemented on exp initially to see if the will function in the game world, it isnt until stable build where they get the numbers they need to see if they need tweaking from all of our testing. Be patient, soon they will start to dwindle.

Could it be a bug similar to the one at firestations and jail buildings? The one where the game doesnt calculate your elevation properly and breaks your legs even though you are on "solid" ground\flooring and only gets worse it you crouch on the 2nd floor

Damn, someone found my stash. I knew loot the loot table was kinda messed up but wow. I've been running around on a few different private hive but have never seen loot like that. I thought I was doing good when I got geared in Khelm then made it to Zelenogorsk and found 2 guns and I thought I had hit the jackpot. I guess I have a bit more looking to do to find that pile of gold you stumbled upon.

What type of footwear did you have? Also what surfaces were you running on? Found a pair of hiking boots and jungle boots and I jogged from kamyshovo to cherno staying off hard surfaces and my hiking boots were still pristine and then the jungle boots from cherno to zelenogorsk and still were pristine. Were you sprinting the whole way to where you were going? Dont forget to MacGyver your coats and footwear, that is if you can find some duct tape

Wire can also be used to make an improvised fishing trap. Use a knife on a plastic bottle, use the wire on the bottle, put some worms in it, you may need a stick. Walk out into the ocean about knee deep and place the trap. Leave if for a few minutes and come back and you got some sardines

Well that depends on your playstyle, if you play medic or trader then having a bit of extra food and drink isnt bad. Also how much inventory space do you have? If you are limited by space I would say no more than 4 or 5 spots assuming you have a childs briefecase or a courier bag. Once you hit the light green energized and hydrated you should have little trouble maintaining it as long as you "top off" every so often. I can't speak for those who play snipers though, as I don't have the patience to lay in a bush for days on end waiting for something to run by

Are you renting a public hive or private shard? How would you determine it is a "hacker" doing the killing and not legit killings? People have posted about kill feeds or kill logs before and there are strong feeling about this issue. BI and the GSP's have stated from day 1 that at this time they have no intentions on releasing any info like that at this time as far as the RPT logs go. If you suspect or have evidence of people hacking you should get into contact with one of the forum mods

I'm happy with the progress at this point, yes there are some disappointing things about it but there is good in the game too. It would be a huge learning curve for folks coming from the mod due to to different mechanics like food/thirst/weather effects/item degradation(with today's patch). Very pleased with the changes to the map and the things they have added so far

People are never gonna agree on playstyles, some people just want to be left alone or are hoping to find people to survive with. Many like the OP come here for the gun play and thats fine, dayz adds weight to your decisions as in you lose everything when you fail and to me that is the addicting part of this game. However when the 2 styles meet it may end poorly for one and some folks get too attached to their gear which is a no no in this game. They may feel robbed of the time it took to get loot only to have their things taken as well as their life but what else is there to do in this game if you don't want to PvP besides loot up? I play this game because I enjoy both sides of the arguement, I like gearing up, hunting, fishing, looking for chopper crashes but I also jump on some days and just want to look for trouble or jump on with a few clanmates and try to hold down a highly traveled area. No one is wrong for their choice of PvP or PvE and with the arrival of private shards PvE can have its place but being smug about killing is just childish and unnecessary. I don't judge people anymore for the way they play because frankly they payed money too and come on this is dayz. What would dayz be without PvP? This game was built with it in mind otherwise all you have is a campingeatingdrinkingshoppingandrunning simulator

By chance, was it raining? Or was any of your gear wet? If they were then you need to dry out by a fire or get some new/spare gear. Being cold and wet in these builds can be lethal if you don't stop and take care of your gear.

Yes I realize things like item degradation, food, drink and weather to name a few are in testing but the moment people speak out about it or try voice their opinions its met with the same old rhetoric of its alpha or some other nonsensical drivel. People come here to vent their frustrations and try to give feedback on things they think are working or not working. If no one said what was wrong with the game, we'd all still be dying from hypothermia 5 minutes after respawn or dying from starvation or lack of water in the same time frame.

True but if no gives an opinion things like this and other game mechanics that won't get tweaked or fixed. Sorry for giving my opinion but walking around a town looting and having to find 3 different sets of shoes(because everyone hoards the duct tape now) due to my guy constantly bitching his feet hurt kinda take the fun out of testing in experimental. Trying hard not to be negative but sticking your head in the sand and avoiding things that need fixing helps no one.
