While I do agree, scopes are borked at the moment. Was this intentionally done or is it just miscalculation by the devs/engine/coding? The reason I ask if it was intentionally done is maybe just maybe they were trying to curb certain types of behavior and failed. The 3pp debate.... I am unmoved by the arguement as I enjoy both modes. I will usually play Rp private hive in 1pp but I will switch if friends want to play 3pp. When I speak of people abusing the FOV slider, I am speaking of people who are sniping and they will literally stop and say something to the effect of "I need to get a better view" and bring up the menu and jack the slider all the way and then reaquire their target. I just find people who need to get one up on everyone, a bit silly and amusing. I cannot endorse or enjoy the fact people need this ability to play the game, I guess thats just a difference in game philosophy and playstyle

This is the kind of thing that always made me laugh while watching the youtubes and seeing people do this so much its almost as if they feel the need to get a constant advantage over everyone. Sad really that the game doesn't give you enough magnification, therefore you feel the need exploit the mechanics of the game. This is my opinion, I know it will be scoffed at and I am ok with that. Don't expect me to be dissuaded from my feelings on this matter. Usually if I am watching a video or live stream and this kindy of tomfoolery starts to happen I just stop watching. You're just exploiting loopholes in the game mechanics and are a bit bent that it won't be so seamless to do anymore.

Dont feel bad walrus, the dude was afk in a firehouse in Elektro. I didn't kill that many people in the mod but when I bought standalone, things changed in a hurry. I won't go on a rampage and kill anything that moves but my kills are either defensive or in your situation someone afk in a weapon spawn location. The feeling of douchebaggery will pass, who knows perhaps you will be presented with another situation where you can give another survivor a chance to live. Don't dwell on it too long as most people in the game would do what you did. Its just the nature of the beast. Its Dayz after all, he had gear you wanted/needed and he got caught slippin

I am running a similar setup but my old rig was so craptastic that when I updated it was a major improvement. That said I am pulling about 40-50 in the wilderness/open fields and 20-25 in the big cities. Most of my settings are on high, minimal on shadows and motion blur is turned off. Without being in front of my PC I can't give you the exact specifics of my settings. I am hoping when we get the new engine and Dayz is optimized it gets better but like I said earlier, this is a vast improvement over my old rig. For me asking for more seems to just be getting greedy

Unlucky I'd say, I found 2 last night when checking chopper crash sites as well as fnx45 and attachments. Also I haven't seen any chopper or police car spawns on persistence enabled servers, not saying they don't happen but in my experience I haven't found much on those servers with it enabled. The loot table seems to be a bit out of wack, as I too have found choppers with 10 rain coats and nothing else but I passed it off as being already looted as it was near the NWAF and highly traveled area

All Rags was trying to do is point out that they are easy to get away from and if they are following you inside a house and they are killing you there, then you aren't doing what you need to do to escape them. Also bone up on the forums as this is a known issue. Dev team is working hard to fix glitchy zeds among other things

Good to hear, was playing a bit this morning and saw another player get a ban for game hack 30 something. Thought I was just seeing things because I was a bit sleepy but he tried 3 other times to log to the same effect. Glad they got things working, beans for the devs

Beans to you for trying to help people out, glad to see more people trying to do good things for new spawns. Its just sad an unfortunate that most people would rather try to knock you out or kill you because they're too damn lazy to find stuff for themselves. I try to run a trade service, most times people will play along but there are times when I'm robbed or killed. To alleviate the problem I started running with a sniper to oversee the operation. I try to leave little gift bags for people mostly food, water, matches and rope. People generally seem happy to get help when they are fresh but due to the kill everything that moves mentality that the YouTube and other streamers have popularized it is difficult to judge peoples intentions

First off are you playing on persitence enabled or disabled servers? Servers that have it enabled are having issues with chopper crash spawns showing up. Also not sure if you use them but there are several online maps that show possible sights. Not sure if .53 has cleared up this issue or not because I haven't played on the persistence enabled servers yet with the new update I tend to run around from Komarovo to the NWAF, head east a bit then south back to Grishino and then on to Stary Sobor and back to Komarovo. I usually find 2 to 3 sights, most are picked over but I've gotten lucky and picked up an Aug and M4 from the same chopper. Still haven't found the SMERSH vest but I'm gonna try some more to find one. Hope this helps you out in your search

Are all of your drivers up to date? Any viruses or maleware on your PC? Have you verified the game files through steam? Not trying to derail your rant but a few builds ago I was having the same issues. Cleaned my PC and updated my drivers and it started working again. It may not help your situation but its a place to start

Found 3 full police uniforms inside of a police station in Komarovo on a private server, however the police station was suffering from the loot glitch. Ive also seen plenty of squad cars and uniforms on non persistent public and private hives, so they are still around. I usually find them near Novy or Stary Sobor and Vybor

Yeah, I had dealings with the others that were on the server that day. Bloodthirsty maniacs they were but most clans I meet ingame are. You sounded a bit different than the others, could've been my imagination as the last time I tried to engage the others I had a lot of bullets whizzing by. No one was hurt, was just trying to trade a few items and maybe find an mp5 and magazine, thats why I was in zelenogorsk....looking around for a squad car and making my way to the barracks and police station

Spawning in the middle of nowhere in the rain does add a degree of difficulty especially when you're a new player but its not impossible. When you get your bearings sprint to the nearest shelter like Steak had suggested and try to find warm dry clothes until you get a rain coat or gorka military jacket. If you're near the beach you can search for stones, when you find one put it in your hands and look at the ground again to make an improvised stone knife. Its quite durable and can dispatch a zed in a few hits, it also opens cans and can cut burlap or used to skin animals or human(if you're a cannibal), it can be used to chop kindling for fires or used to get a branch from an ashwood tree for an improved bow or fishing pole. After you've been fed and get rid of the chills you can then start to build a life in chernarus, looking for a gun or a bigger backpack and the basic things you need to get to the next town. If you're playing on near full or full server be careful when dealing with other players as most tend to shoot on sight especially near the airfields and if you encounter others, don't shout friendly a bajillion times at them. Try to engage them in friendly banter( been shot too many times after saying I'm friendly). Glad to hear you enjoy the game and the updates they are making to it, its been a slow process but they are doing good things in my opinion, yes it has problems but they are making progress. Yup, stay away from the stairs in the firestation. Also be careful in the ATC towers too, I've gotten to the point I would rather climb the ladder on the outside than try to navigate the stairs in that death trap

FNX45 in Balota jail building the first night the game was out. Being true to my name I was peepinandcreepin around and I heard a guy run in and threaten me so I axed him and took his 45 then turned around and shot his 2 buddies. Some much butthurt ensued, ended up getting another fnx45 and an m4 for a friend

Either way works for me, I only use a few different names in Dayz or any other games I play. When I use my steam name I tend to get a ton of laughs and tend to get shot less. Something about the name PeepinandCreepin makes people giggle and tend to lower their guard a bit

I must say, you folks have a nice server. Had no problems finding people or finding action. Had a great time on your server, met some cannibals and got eaten(mainly my fault, running naked in novo shouting I needed some A1 sauce for flavoring). Met a few peeps on the coast who immediately sent me further up the coast without a hello or kiss my ass or nothing, but it worked out cause I spawned near a friend. In all was a good time at your place, even skinned someones body who was named Tobias to make a piece offering to the munchers in Novo, they still ate me anyways. Thanks for the fun, I will be back for more soon.

If you're looking for action, check out FOG private hive. All kinds of action going on last night, stay away from Novo though. Some real interesting folks up there, being that they are cannibals and all. Had no issues finding the action, even on the coast. Those guys know how to show you a good time, be careful though some peeps like killing freshies with absolutely nothing. Always have a good time on their servers though

1. The only trick is finding a good spot to stash it, when you find that spot be cautious and scope it out for a bit to see the traffic through that area. Make sure its off the beaten path 2. The battery goes dead on the cattle prod and stun baton easy, like maybe 4 or 5 hits 3. Not sure if item wear has much affect at this point, it more than likely will in the future 4. Yes it is realistic to live for days/weeks/months, the secret is being cautious. Some people need little to no reason to kill you,scope out the area before moving in. Don't play the game like its a run and gun fps until you get the hang of things. If you meet fellow survivors and you wish to exchange hostilities, by all means do so but don't cry hacker if you get beat. Learn from previous failures and grow from them. 5. Yes I assume its an alpha thing to as it happens to me as well 6. You can peak around corners and over walls, some feel this is cheating because you extend your field of view in an unatural manner. This is merely matter of choice issue 7. It was, I havent seen one in awhile though. Loot wasnt being spawned properly in some areas and you would find a loot farm, while some places like costal and spawn locations were completely deviod of loot 8. Do you mean a canteen or water bottle? They spawn in houses, fire stations, police stations, barracks, military tents, industrial buildings, sheds and vehicle spawns
