Maybe I just didn't play it enough, what is the appeal of Namalsk?? I didn't see the appeal of the blood suckers and a storm that will kill you if you weren't inside or anything notable on the map. Just wondering what I'm missing.

I too hope they limit the amount of modding, I really don't want to see 1000 vehicle servers or starting loadouts or pay to win servers that plagued the mod.

5 times the zeds, modding support and a better stealth system yay! Not feeling it about Namalsk though, it was my least favorite map for arma 2 Dayz. The EV storms and blood suckers and lack of things to do made it not fun. Guess I will be sticking to Chernarus+ until a better map is chosen Beans for the hard work guys and gals keep it up

I would rather be able to sharpen a stick, put a hunk of meat(deer/rabbit/fish/human) on said sharpened stick and put it in my hands and then roast it over the fire. It just doesn't make sense that we aren't able to do this, as I don't ever have room for all of the stuff needed to make a fireplace, cooking tripod and cookware. That is the main drawback right now for me, too much nonsense to cook some meat when it was so much simpler a few patches ago. Sorry to hijack your post about advanced cooking

Hmm I dunno, not sure what kind of velocity the devs have given a spud chucked by a player, I would imagine your tactics are a mere annoyance rather than effective defense. All the more reason for a potato gun!!!! Please Eugen hear our cries for improvised weaponry In all seriousness can you knock a bandit out by throwing a spud at them and smacking them in the face? Sadly I've never tried this, always run or die. If this tactic works, man I have found a new way to troll people

Tried that as a youth, something about putting together a launcher, mixing it with some type of propellent, light and watch your new toy work. I grew up in a rural setting so we had to make our own fun and this provided endless hours of fun

No luck on finding the parts, coast was picked clean and I'm still trying to get the hang of how persistence works. I wonder if duct tape is a suitable replacement for all of the epoxy and other moving parts in this gun. Oh well guess I'll stick to sporter

I don't care one bit that I lost my stuff, it just loot. Not a fan of the CTD but I get it that its in alpha, things like this happen and I click the I understand button before logging in, knowing things like this may happen. I actually got a decent respawn out of it, made some more chaps and a vest and set out again in the quest for loot....only to get robbed and poisoned later on. Please don't mistake my ramblings as griping or bitching, getting a new start can be fun in some ways. I try to learn from my mistakes and move on, Ive learned not to ride in a vehicle for the time being

I really wish I could give you more beans, I would love a spud cannon or mortar in dayz. I think I will stop over to the local hardware store and get me a working model going tonight.

If not this than what about a potato gun, lord knows there are enough potatoes and fresh veggies we could use, might even be hilarious to find new ways to dispatch zeds or people. You're not alone, I was driving in my truck up near grishino when I received a crash to desktop error. I had just crafted a leather vest and pants and improvised backpack(hope shrub doesn't see this. Had to kill a pig for some leather...sorry shrub) and had just picked up a red dot sight for my mp5k. I lost 3 30 round mags, the mp5k a bit of food, 3 yellow protector cases, ps01 scope and a long range scope for a mosin. Was on my way to trade a few things for a tricked out M4 for a clan mate to surprise him with.

Sorry to tell you this, people in game usually don't give 2 sharts if you're new or not when they decide to kill you. Right now there are no consequences for murder and some if not most have adapted to the shoot first way of life because its easier than getting ganked by someone and his buddies who set you up for your gear. Welcome to the struggle my friend, unless you plan on playing a private hive with a PvE ruleset, be prepared to get shot a ton of times if you aren't the sneaky type. Find a group a friends and run with em, don't trust anyone outside of your friends list and be wary of the hills and bushes overlooking a good loot spot

For me it would be the FN FAL and AN-94. I think I had read somewhere that the FN FAL was rumored for sometime later in development, I just hope they dont attach that horrid NV scope to it that was on it in the mod. I also realize the AN-94 presents a bit of a problem as it shoots a 2 round burst and the recoil mechanic works differently than most guns but hey a guy can wish cant he?????

Please forgive me if this has been posted as my phone is being a turd and I have limited time on my break.... You know those map parts we find scattered throughout chernarus, what if when we craft one and say we have a pen and a compass, what if we could mark spots on the map say for our stash spots or even leave them around for people to find treasure. I'm not asking to be able to have markers so we can navigate, just be able to mark our personal maps for said reasons. For me it would help as I smoke way too much weed and tend to forget where my stashes are(persistent servers) or like I was saying for a scavanger/treasure hunt. Any ways let me know what you think or flame away

This is what I'm hoping for, map markers to be transferable when someone else finds your map. It could lead to stashes, ambushes or all sorts of nefarious things

I would love to see water collection devices put in Dayz. This should all come around the same time we have need to use water purification tabs or need to boil our water. It would give people whom enjoy "survivalist" mentality a way to collect larger amounts of water, without need to make pit stops at pumps/rivers/ponds

We could roll together if you want. Im sure there are plenty of people more qualified to show you the way, let me know what your preferences are for server selection. 1pp or 3pp doesn't matter to me, as well as low/med/high pop servers

I haven't found one since Christmas. I assumed they don't spawn anymore but I haven't looked at the loot tables in awhile. I had 2 on a RP private hive and one on the old FOG server but I had traded a guy for a couple MP5 mags and a red dot optic. I've found them in peoples stashes on persistent servers but never touched them, so I guess they are still around but haven't seen them in teddy bears for awhile

I get it that is something BI put into the game but I still stand by my assertion that it wasn't intended to be abused in this manner.

Just find a place to chill and live carefree, find a server you have no gear or attachments to and start to live a new life. It took me awhile to break the old habits I had but after a friend suggested I try playing a medic or trader, I was hooked. Getting shot or killed on sight didn't seem to bother me as much any more. Not saying I won't put a bullet in someones ass for trying to do me or my squad wrong but it was interesting to watch a squad mate gun down some guys from FOG on their server, just not really my thing

Sorry to make you feel dirty, in my next post I had made mention of people sighting in on a target, then claiming they need a better view or something to that effect. They then proceed to jack the FOV slider to enhance their magnification, I feel it shouldnt be so seamless and no, I don't think this was the intended function of the FOV slider. Just don't expect me to buy peoples excuses for needing to do this. If you want to fiddle with your settings by all means do so, you paid money to play how you want to. We should just agree to disagree on this subject

Having the loot is nice, I thought this way at one point in my Dayz gaming past. I feel now though that its just stuff, I can always get more. I don't focus on getting uber rare guns and loot, mainly roll around with a shotgun, mp5 or SKS. If I happen to die oh well, I can find 2 of the 3 guns fairly easy. I mainly play as a medic/trader and tend to look as unthreatning as possible, hell most of the time I just roll around with a magnum or 1911. Just try playing on a private hive and go looking for trouble, preferably on a server you have no connection to and live carefree. You'll break the habit of being attached to you loot real quick

Were you in a place where a zed could have nom nom nom your toon as the game logged you out? It could also he a sync issue like Liscion mentioned, if it happens again, don't move and log out immediately and try to reconnect to the server. It happens to me from time to time and reconnecting will usually fix the issue. If it doesn't, oh well its only loot, there is plenty more to be found.
