Not true, my stable characters both regular and hardcore have/had m4's and I'm not a scripter nor did I acquire them from a script kiddy. I haven't played either in a few weeks but last time I checked they were still there. Stable build has a few 60 round coupled mags and hardcore has a few 30 round mags and a 40 round mag -

I found a hacksaw, handcuff keys and fnx attachments but no pistol in .48 experimental last night. I found the hacksaw in a shed in gorka and the handcuff keys in the jail cell at the nwaf and had hopes of finding the fnx in zelenogorsk after I found the attachments in the military barracks. Anyone else finding a lot of ruined items? Shortly after restart I found a ton of ruined clothes and medical items, in every town/city I visited. Also I was noticing the lack of canned food and drink -

Never thought about this, I will try with just the speakers from my tv, my headphones seem to pick up on a lot of noises in Dayz that my clan mates don't hear or I could stop smoking so much before I play -

Not sure if its the same moaning sound but I kept hearing a sound like someone has been shot or injured. You know the sounds people make in game when their character is in pain, freaked me out cause I was in zelengorsk military barracks looking for an ak101 and hear this. So I start looking around and couldn't find anything, no players, bunny rabbits or any animals only zeds. Checked the player list and I was alone in the server, they need to get this fixed cause I can't enjoy bong hits when I'm constantly paranoid looking for another player -

Let's make sure they work properly before we get too excited. I can only imagine the rage it will induce when someone puts their precious M4 in one and it disappears immediately or after a restart. Good news to hear though

What is it with the m4? I get it that it is an "iconic" rifle for some folks but there are other guns that go pew pew as well. I pray it never comes back, it doesnt really have a reason to be in Dayz at this point and its horribly inaccurate to boot

Far too often this is what happens, try to be friendly and get punched in the head for it. Beans to you for attempting to be friendly. Some peeps don't care about being friendly only kill you and take your gear so they can get back to playing death match. Such is life in Dayz, no hello or kiss my ass just kill kill kill.

Did you buy arma II from anywhere other than steam? I'm not sure if this is a fix or not but when our community started an overpoch server, several other members of our community including myself had this issue. We all had purchased the game outside of steam. We all entered our CD keys into our steam library and redownloaded the steam version and that seemed to clear it up. Once again I'm not sure if this will work for you but it seemed to help a few of us in our community -
When you say the guy was in a bush and you shot him were there any leaves from the bush in the way? The reason I ask is I've run across a few situations where the leaves from trees and bushes seem to be bulletproof. It sounds silly but I've tested it with a clanmate, if there is even a small portion of that leaf or bush covering a person then the offending shrub/tree will absorb the damage

Roofs and ladders are bad juju, try to avoid them at all costs. Thanks for the thought though. We've found plenty of "scripted" M4 magazines on the bodies of fallen survivors but we hide the bodies as soon as we find them, just don't like the idea of using something so dirty -

Really? That's good to know, I've been running around with a clanmate looking for magazines for his M4. Been everywhere from the NEAF to the NWAF and down to the other small military bases and as far south as Balota with no success, even devoted a day just trying to find chopper crashes. Thanks for the tip, will keep scouring the map because we would like to avoid server hopping -

M4 magazines spawn at the chopper crash sights and as far as I know that is the only place to find magazines, attachments, the gun itself and ammunition. I've only ever found magazines for the mp5k inside of police stations or inside of police cruisers. Usually find them in the boot of the car or inside the doors of the car. Hope that helps -
Yes, sorry that was me being sarcastic. I have been somewhat geared and fell off of a step, 1 step in the barns with multiple levels and died. My buddy actually made a joke about tripping over the curb and breaking my neck so I just roll with it. Its just one of those quirky things about Dayz

In my experience, if you are fully geared and healthy and you trip over a curb you will die but if you are a freshie with nothing you can jump off the silos near solinichny(sp?) and live. That's Dayz physics for ya

You don't have any way of knowing because you aren't supposed to be kicking players because you are renting a public hive. You have very little power over your own server at this point so that people aren't using them as a way to get loot and go to another server to douche bag on people. It still happens unfortunately, people loot a certain area then reset the server continually until they gain an advantage. Much like the server hoppers, badmins are ruining the fun for those of us who play the game legit and either search the map for loot or kill other players for the stuff we need to survive

Please tell me you reported this server, its shit like this that ruins the game. And to answer the OP's question, server owners can kick people, with good reason, and restart the server also need to have good reasons to do so, that's how vilayer explained it to me when I rented a server

Mine was roughly 20 days, mainly on the west side of the map. Spent about 4 hours a day on that character. I lost my life in a hail of gunfire, 3 straight hours of constant shooting at the NWAF. I thought I was clear to move out, my running mates assumed I was in a different building. 2 came in and I lit them up but ultimately died of lead poisoning, ran out of bullets and the 3rd person in our group gave me a fatal dose ....damn friendly fire -

Everyone is different, wait it out as long as you need. I can't tell you how many unfriendly players I've shot due to them getting impatient and rushing in. I can also tell you I've been shot countless times due to my impatience, so it would depend on how you feel and how many potential baddies you face. -

The game isn't optimized yet as it is still in alpha. Also the Dayz mod ran the same way as standalone, they seem to be more processor heavy than actually using the GPU. If low fps makes you feel as if you've wasted money, I can't wait to hear how you feel about the actual bugs and glitches in the game. I'm sorry to tell you but if you bought this hoping for a triple A title that runs smoothly at 60fps, then you bought the wrong game -
Sometimes you can sneek up on an unsuspecting player and knock them out with your fists and take their gear. Same goes for zeds, only circle strafe them clockwise and learn how to bob and weave. Once you get the hang of it you can mix in another zed or 2. If you are strafing them they will start to damage each other so use other zeds to your advantage. If you encounter another player with a weapon, well you might want to learn how to dodge bullets and use cover. Oh and pray like hell the person shooting at you is a horrible shot

Damn now I gotta find a new place to chill, west side of the map was pretty quiet after the moved the death match from cherno/elektro. Also with chopper crashes spawning on the west side, more peeps will head there so they can get their m4. Its sad that all people do is get lewts and head for the nearest action, no testing or exploring just gotta get my pew pew fix or the game sucks and is boring. 225 square km map and everyone heads to one place....just seems like a waste of map and development time
