I am fixing to majorly overhaul my PC. Luckily it is for work and play so I can justify it to the wifey! Mainly I need a new board, chip w/ cooler and memory. What I am looking at: i7-3770K Processor (8M Cache, up to 3.90 GHz) ( http://ark.intel.com/products/65523 ) Hyper 212 EVO - Cooler Master( http://www.coolermas...t....ct_id=3053 ) BOXDP67BGB3 Socket 1155, Intel P67, CrossFireX & SLI ( http://www.intel.com.../d...video.html ) definitely 16gb but I may jump up to 32gb ( http://www.corsair.c...od...00c10.html ) I use a very intense drafting software and I want to build it for future releases.

Still running smooth and loving it. I highly recommend these specs.

If you need any help with 3d modeling (buildings, house, etc...) let me know. I am a residential designer/estimator and my software (Archicad) can export to several different file types. I have done a little research, but I have read that Sketckup files could be brought into the map editor... -
Can anyone recommend a good server (US East Coast)? I prefer a 24/7 day since the time I normally play is between 8p-11p EST. Every time I think I find one that I can stick with, I build up my inventory just to see it shutdown a few days later. I understand server cost, but is there one out there for the long haul? :D Just got my new rig built running on Very High settings and I am ready to survive. :beans:

My brother-in-law had a spare 120gb SSD (3TB of additional storage for everything else) and I got that from him for $80. Best decision I made... I obviously installed Win7 to it, and also my drafting software (Archicad). Loads incredibly fast and Archicad runs SOOOO much better.

Only ones I have handy on my phone... First pic is the first boot on a small HDTV and the second is the true setup with my dual 24" monitors.

I will check it out. -
It is great! Win7 (not a fan of 8) index came in at 7.7 It absolutely dominates everything I throw at it with my drafting software, and Dayz runs smoooooooth on high settings! Wife was laughing at me on how excited I got about it after booting it up the first time. :D

I would return the new card... if the old works fine and the drivers are all up to date. Must be a defect. -
Case and cooler has arrived. I hate playing the waiting game....
-
I consider the 1866 before I did it, and do not know why I didn't go ahead and pay the little extra (basically $25)... Well that is why I love Amazon! Change has been made. The fan on the other hand, I will wait and see on it (plus it has already shipped). I may eventually upgrade to the http://www.corsair.c...cpu-cooler.html Luckily, I had a side design job come up to pay for this upgrade. So I told the wifey to be prepared that this check is all mine :)

Can not wait.... Badass board! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4roLZLbidwE
