Current opinions regarding players killing on sight?
Chips- replied to Sterling (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I try to avoid other players if they're armed. Kill if I have to. Fresh spawns should be let go or helped. It's really annoying to spawn in, run for five minutes and get shot while two bandits circle around you laughing and taunting. Happened to me today -
Chips as in potato chips.. Also it's a nickname for a carpenter which I have a degree for.
-
No, go play BF3 for the rez-train. This is DayZ, dead is dead.
-
I think the bandit skin looks like a guy with a beehive on his head. That's good, make them look stupid for playing selfish. Hero skin is pretty boss
-
Seen 1 hacker in the 2 weeks that I've played. Whitelisted private hives is the way to go
-
Playing at night gives that extra bit of creepy, I quite like it. Too bad you can basically cheat by messing with the gamma setting
-
I did find one right next to my spawn on Lingor, dropped it because it's NV only and had no ammo.MP5SD6 was my fav so far, only used low/mid tier weapons since I get killed before reaching the barracks and heli crash sites have always been looted before I get there.

When was the first time YOU killed someone in DayZ?
Chips- replied to tacticalbanana's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Shit aim but it did count as a bandit kill. Died soon after that, didn't find enough food and passed out in the middle of a street -
Some private hives have it enabled

Was looting the northern part of Chernarus today with a buddy, minutes after he logged out I decided to go have a look at Devil's Castle and found my first ever heli spawn. The AH6X Little Bird. Wasn't even going to try flying it at night with no NV, no fuel, and practically no experience in flying other than a couple tries in the ArmA II heli training. Just admiring it, then SSSSNAP. Dead. Can only blame myself. Should have ran out of there ASAP to avoid trouble. At least I didn't lose anything valuable. Some bloodbags, MP5, basic tools and a Czech Backpack. :D

It's pretty clear how humanity works, help people it goes up, shoot heroes/survivors it goes down. But what about after death? Does it reset to 2500 and you always start fresh as a survivor or can you keep your hero status or change into a bandit?
-
Alright good, that's how I hoped it worked :)
-
Yep, I run on high with a 670 and get similar fps results
-
Not a bandit but I get it, the adrenaline rush is something you don't get by being a nice guy.
-
lol owned, no beans for you

Me and my Enfield in the fireplace :)

Still a bambi so I haven't shot anyone other than a guy who opened fire on me and my mate in the office building in Elektro. #1 Fire if fired upon. If I feel you're a threat and retreat isn't an option I will try my hardest to kill you. #2 Armed bandits are a threat #3 Survivors I'll either avoid or try to communicate with, if they are armed and act suspicious it's better to be safe than sorry. #4 Heroes I might call out for help (food/drink/blood/morphine/directions) if necessary. I did run into some random guy near Balota last time while traveling with a friend, he was armed and we weren't and the guy turned out to be helpful. Even gave me morphine when some zed broke my leg with 1 hit

Deer stands as in little wooden structures on the edge of a forest overlooking a field. They're marked with a red flag on the map I posted. But beware, these spawn zombies as well but they are easy to avoid
-
Use this map to locate your spawn (always at shore for fresh spawn) and navigate where you're going. You can find a map in-game and if you're lucky a GPS to go along with it. http://dayzdb.com/map Loot deer stands for weapons. Most only have ammo but it's worth checking them out until you find a decent weapon like an AK, MP5 or an M16. Playing with friends makes things more fun and interesting, lucky for me I'm playing with my brother in the same house so we can chat IRL while playing.

British Sergeants' Mess - [BSM] **Fully Admin'd** & Whitelisted - TAVIANA.COM
Chips- replied to sgttrojan's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Sounds good, I'm looking for a friendly server to call home so I'll give it a try. Only played for a week now so I hope you don't mind bambies on your server :D -
Washed up on the shore of Solnichniy, I loot the town and head west. Armed with an AK-74 and what must have been my luckiest day in DayZ I find a bus and an Offroad on the next 2 villages. Both need a wheel, so I head back to Solni and find one. Decided to go with the Offroad, I head up north to loot the Berezino hospital for some morphine and bloodbags. The second I get back in my vehicle some bandit kills me. :( Lesson learned, do not drive into town even on low pop servers.
