@Private Evans Ah ok i see your point now. Well we use those "classes" currently in the Mod where you can find those weapons a lot more than probably in the SA. So that will probably change. Might just have a Doctor and a Mobile Fridge Unit aka the Bean carrier^^ -

What do you mean? You think it's wrong to have roles assigned for your friends? When you play with 5 to 6 as i stated? I mean my friends and i play always like that. But for DayZ we changed the setup. We have a focused Medic but everyone still has some bandages, morphine, bloodbags, antibiotics and so on. Everyone is equipped so he can make it on their own if they choose to play alone. But when we stick together we have some ppl who specialize on one thing more. Pretty sure that's how ppl would react in a real zombie szenario. So playing it "tactical" is not a bad thing in my opinion. You should see us traveling the country side of chernarus. Come to the edge of a forrest, send guy #1, wait till he is half on the way send guy #2. And so on. We are very careful about that and we moslty survive all encounters with Zombies or Humans. -

So what you are saying... If i find that Gun-o-Matic5000 and yes it is the only one on all the servers. Then i log out and idk maybe i am working with the military of my country and they send me away for like 2 months. Then i finally get home alive and well in the best case. Only to find my character without his Gun-o-Matic5000 that i was lucky enough to find? That would suck really bad. Like taking stuff from players that they found is bad. No matter how rare that item is. On the other hand. I have my thoughts on those super rare and high military weapons, they are not gonna be much use to small teams or single players. Since the Ammo will be Rare too. So is that AS50 with 5 rounds worth keeping over your Lee Enfield with 5 Mags? Perhaps if you run with a 5 to 6 man group and have assigned rules. Such as Medic, Sniper, Spotter, Heavy Gunner and so on. But as a lone player that Rare weapon will only get you killed. Because there will be a sniper with a CZ550 lying somewhere, he sees you and puts a pullet in your head as you are carrying that AS50. If he sees you with the Lee Enfield the chances are that he might let you live. -

I think what Dean means with the Classes is. What you learn ingame you can apply faster. So if you repair a lot or combine a lot of things you will know how to do that with the right parts and tools. And the person who hasn't done a lot of experimenting with crafting and repairing will have a harder time to do those things. Same with the Medical system, you play with it a lot you are going to know what works against that specific type of illment. You won't get like a little message in the lower left corner saying "You just became a Master Engineer" or "You just became a Doctor" I think that is how he means "Classes" You apply what you learn in the game. And probably you can apply some real world knowledge as well. Dean said you could navigate through the Stars during the night in ARMA 2 if you knew how to in real life. And when a few months pass into the game most players will be "Masters of the Way of Survival" -
Will the SA Ever Feel like This?

Yeah hopefully it will be something like that when groups explore the New parts of the map. But people will be less scared unless the Zombies in SA will be a real challenge. It's a good video for showing new players what can happen in DayZ. -
I am pretty sure we will see camouflage style clothing in the SA. And it will probably be military or hunting loot and spawn in those areas.

The SA will be a new Experience just for the fact that every settlement you enter will be different simply because you can look into all the buildings. Find loot that is placed in places that makes sense. And don't forget that they added new settlements way up north where there was nothing before. As well as the new big Island that they showed on a few screenshots.

Just because it is set to an eastern european setting does not mean they will only use Russian weapons and vehicles in the SA. Dean already said that there is a balance that must be found that makes it authentic, and what makes a good game experience. So a variety of weapons from all over the world surely will be in the SA same with vehicles. But the eastern european weapons and vehicles will probably be more common in the SA. So finding that AK-74 is more likely than an M16 But both will be in the Game i'm pretty sure of that.

Well i don't think he asked the questions to confirm them in or not. I mean the weapons can be in the game why wouldn't there be high powered sniper rifles in a szenario like DayZ? If you run into a military base you are bound to find all sorts of weapons. Many weapons you might not even be able to reload properly. Or only have 1 magazine with it. So you might find that AS50 in a base but it only has 1 magazine with 5 rounds. Will that be worth keeping over your Lee Enfield with 5 magazines? If you are a lone survivor not playing in a team for people to protect you? So as Dean said with the Night vision being really rare i think there should be High powered Rifles of military grade. As for a squad UI i don't think that is needed. My Friends and i always used the E and Q keys to lean sideways to identify ourselfs. Always going like EQ EQ in teamspeak. And with all the new Animations you can do, for example "put your hands up" I mean you could run through Elektro go into the Supermarket, and a guy with his weapon raised will be behind you and tells you to put your hands up. Could be awesome for bandits to actually rob you instead of just shooting you. As long as you do what he tells you to do. -

The SA will be lacking certain features at the start. Vehicles will probably not be in until they did their recreation with them. For Gameplay and Crashes.... well nobody really knows until we get the access to the Alpha. But from what i have seen from the E3 videos it seems pretty stable. For all we know the E3 footage was not a special E3 build so yeah i guess it is stable enough for people to test the current build. Test the new system with more players and add valueable feedback to the Dev team then. -

The 100 to 150 people is also the number the dev team is looking for as how big the servers will be. Maybe someone mixed some facts up about those numbers -

Well my brother watched some videos of DayZ and told me about it and we watched some videos together then. Later we watched some Rhinocrunch videos back before all that rage when his videos were about him running through the woods for 30 minutes not seeing a soul and him being so paranoid that when he "though" he saw stuff. Later we just got hooked on it. -

[Stand Alone] No Cars in Alpha.

I don't think working cars should be Rare. The Fuel to use them should be. So that you will drive your car a few kilometers. And perhaps then find no fuel but another car with a bit of fuel to get you a few kilometers further. That would require you to haul your loot to the new vehicle and so on. On the current mod you can drive your car forever and never have to worry to run out of fuel. ----------------------------------------------------------------- And to say we need cars to get around.... I played the Mod since it started. And i never ever used a Car or bothered to repair one. Since the vehicles are so damn loud everyone will hear you miles away. -

Who cares if a weapon is less effective than another. I like variety in my games, and in all it's aspects. So yes i'd like a bad weapon as well as totally overpowered weapons. If all the weapons are worse than the 50.cal rifles why not remove everything except those and you'll have your deathmatch with a little Infectet mixed in. -

I'll laugh when SA hits and later Arma3 gets a Zombie Mod that ppl will play more. But we'll just gotta wait till both are out to see the results. -

The Weapon icon represents if your are in Combat or not. If it flashed Red that means you have been engaged in combat. Either people shooting at you, or a zombie hitting you. Or you firing a shot. -
I can hardly belive that the support for the mod will continue a lot when the SA is out. Since both are working on different engines and all. So it's very likely that the support for the Mod will die at some point or will be run seperatly.

When was the first time YOU killed someone in DayZ?

The first time i killed another player was when i left a forrest and walked down a field to meet up with my brother and a friend. Out in the open i suddenly heard shots coming from the forrest i just left. Back then i just hit the floor and looked back to see 2 survivors coming out of the same forrest. I didn't dare to move at all because they would see me as soon as i would get up. Lying in the grass i waited what seemed like 45 minutes to me keeping the 2 in my sights. They shoot couple of Zombies near a dear stand that i left unchecked when i left the forrest, since i just wanted to meet up with my group again. Then one guy made a run away from my position and his friend was still looting the Zombie corpses. That's when i took the chance and put 2 rounds into his head with my DMR. After waiting another felt 20 minutes waiting for his friend to come back. I then checked the body found some nice stuff, Map, compass, knife, matches, Alice pack, food and water, meds everything i could possibly want. So it was a good call for my safty and further survival shooting that person. -
Yes i hope there will be some news now with the new year. Other than that happy new year!

Well he could just tell us what's happening. If it gets Delayed or not, coming back after a 2 week holiday break away from the internet and all. And still no new news. Sad sad Panda -
Back when i used to play only on consols i played the Soul Calibur games on my Gamecube. And i always liked the Nightmare character. And so i thought well in games like Unreal Tournament and Counter Strike i could become a Nightmare to players, well that didn't work out so great since i am an ok player but not giving anybody Nightmares lol. So i made Nightmare from the Character and the GER for Germany were i was Born and live.

I like the exploring part a lot. Me and my Brother are just running around Chernarus through the woods covering every crossing and looting our favorite town of Polana. Then when we get a lot of gear, 2 ghillies 1 sniper and 1 midrange rifle we get over confident and get shot and we start over again^^ But exploration and scavanging is the most fun for us.

Well we can only hope that the problem is with the "thrid" partys. But anyways i am sure we will "all" be pleased once it gets released, and hopefully the gamestyle will change a little from not shooting everything on sight.
