try playing more, on many different servers maybe it was just a one time occurrence. -edit: maybe defragmenting hard drive will help. -

my bad, meant -winxp "enables" (as in makes better use of) sli and crossfirex specifically for arma 2 and yes, my info comes from that wiki site as well. although the use of -winxp is rather antiquated by now. its done the trick long ago, when arma didnt like double gpus and their drivers much

arma 3 dayz is not really the best dayz experience for now. they need to improve on a lot of things. while dayz for arma 2 was getting polished for more than a year. the arma 3 version just kicked off not long ago. they dont even have all of the features working there yet. i suggest you should wait for the standalone.

in dayz commander settings set additional launch parameter -winxp this enables crossfire/sli and i also believe it forces arma 2 to run in directx9 .

what are his pc specs, it may be an issue with sli or crossfire (if he has multiple gpu) if running amd cpu, it may be a bios poo poo, update bios

Maybe its the PSU (power supply unit) is it only arma that does that though?

to be honest with u, ur current computer is nowhere close to being fit for gaming. and the closest "couple bucks" to get it there would be about 300$, on a new cpu and a new graphics card, not to say that you may also need a new motherboard and so on.. good luck with that -

nice narrative <3 but on the topic, dayz with no pvp is just not dayz anymore. there is simply no motivation to play it seriously, no adrenaline rush when u get shot at... plus, the zombies are rather bad right now

try running steam as admin right click on steam, properties, compatibility, run as administrator, check that good luck -
