and that would double data transfer and storage for dayz main server, which would be a big pain in the ass for them, unfortunately. this will definitly have to wait at least until the stand alone comes, and if that doesnt happen, then at least untill dayz is no longer merely in alpha

how about just going to settings and setting window mod, then back to full res? will definitely give both options a try

no offense, but thats kinda dumb (to pair i3 with gtx680)... gtx680 should be kicking ass in bf3 with at least 60 fps, given a good CPU, even on dual screens, i expect

thats right arma 2, in addition to being very CPu intensive, also asks alot of ur harddrive. there is a very efficient way to run DayZ mod files of a Ramdisk (normal drive has speeds of around 50mb/s, while a ramdisk can reach up to 4000mb/s depending on ram speed) and the good thing is that u only need to convert 400 mb of RAM into disk space (dayz mod folder is about 250 mb, +/- a bit of working space = 400 mb)

yes there is quite a few ways to optimize dayz performance, however im not sure about that system precisely number 1 tip task manager - high priority to arma2oa.exe (gave me 10 fps boost)

definitly could, but with lower performance u gotta know that i3 mostly (or all of them, not sure) are 2 cores. i5 are the today's optimal gaming CPU with 4 cores

those stores definitly rip[ u off on computers. they just put a decent CPU then insert a shit GPu and expect u to pay full price look on newegg.ca or tigerdirect.ca u can find very good pc s on sale

my gaming pc (4 year old) came with q6600 which is kept, but upgraded GPU to HD6870, and im able to get around 40-50 fps in dayz

q6600 is prety decent for arma 2 although the radeon card ure talking about is rather shitty....

btw low settings dont always mean better performance (ex: dayz shadows on high run better than on med or low, because high shadows are loaded by ur gpu as opposite to low and med, being worked by cpu)

i have a gamign pc. funny as it is, i get around 60-70 fps in bf3 but only 30-40 in arma 2, so i guess it all depends on little details and componetns of ur pc. like harddrive speed (can be fixed by ramdisk - in dayz), ram, and cpu specs

u cant really call that a gaming computer.... but u might still be able to run arma 2 in low settings and high optimization wit haround 20 fps. bf3 will be around 30 fps i expect. thats if u want shitty performance :)

everyone should stop calling on alpha to justify every single bad thing about dayz. next time i hear of this its going to ressemble somethign like *there is too much PvP in dayz... - thats beacuse its still alpha*. Rather say something like its not properly coded, and maybe add a "yet" in the end Since quite a recent update, zombies work based on some sort of a messed up system which enables them to see only in front of them - that being the direction where their head is directed. The way that system works however is very inconsistent and tricky... .

markets only have a 2% chance of spawning an alice pack, although thats still higher than other locations, so ure right about markets being the right place to look for alice packs. u should also check the cherno church.
