h3retic replied to Acheron (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
ure right the news page should definitely contain more important stuff and less of the random crap they shovel in there but still those news can be fun too :) -
Now WHAT is the chance of this happening!? (Forest encounter)
h3retic replied to vitdom's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
thats some rare luck there hope i had that too.... i actually had a much worse experience of bumping into a group of players zig zagged my ass (it worked lawl) -
lawl ok ill definitely try harder next time but thats exactly what i was doing all the time anyways i really bust my ass trying to find that perfect spot for a tent
-
you cant put tents on uneven ground what ure doing by moving backwards is just moving away from the uneven ground and trees. basically u just go to a place where ground is fitting to place a tent

Im not saying its aliens, but its aliens
h3retic replied to PwnCaiks101's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
aliens in dayz? so it has come to this... -
with the latest patches (as of 1.7.2 i think), the tents that are placed off the map are whipped out on a regular basis. this means that these days, chances are that ppl will place tents all over the map (especially on the edges of the map). u can easily run all the way up north without needing a vehicle. most usually, u will find generic items such as med supplies, food, ammo and more rarely weapons (ppl tend to have weapons on them) i usually drop off all food and a bit of ammo in my tent before actually going back to looting (approx. 8 slots free = that with the 24 slots coyote backpack; one gun in hands, and a 2nd gun in the backpack) if u decide to place a tent, it might be a pain in the ass because placing tents in this game is not as easy as it is in real life (u can only place it on level ground and u cant put it inside of a pine tree, so to speak)

isnt that from the video on youtube, in which u ride a truck to enemy camp, loot it, get like 10 painkillers, then run all the tens over lawl

Hello guys I have a rather old but still quite decent pc. intel 2 quad q6600 2.4 ghz radeon hd 5770 1gb gddr5 oc'ed 4gb ddr2 ram win vista I am currently able to run arma 2 with high optimization (.cfg file modifications etc) on around 30-50 fps in plains, 30 fps in forests, and lowering to 20 fps in big cities. Not long ago, i found out that gamebooster can "boost ur game", performance wise. Previously, however, i heard that some gameboosters may shut down processes such as punkbuster (anti cheating apps). I am wondering if iobit gamebooster 3.4 is compatible with the arma 2 battleye. (http://www.iobit.com...oster.html#none) I think it is, but id love to have a confirmation on this from someone who is actually using it. Also, if u are already a user of any gamebooster, can u please tell how big is the difference with and without it. Thanks to all who answer

if they were anti productive, they wouldnt really be used. fact is: ppl use them

Base Building/Endgame Suggestion- Shipping Crates!
h3retic replied to Bribase's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
this will definitely require an enormously long period of time to code, and then to recode in order to fix bugs/glitches. but nevertheless this is a very good idea. i can imagine myself shooting the zombies while protecting the crane guy <3 sounds very intense -
man, just log out in the pine trees, and grow a pair ive never been killed while loading and ive been playign this game for a long long time now
-
and then when ure far in the woods get killed by them! ba dum tss...
-
thats why i put the "<3" "lmao"

New Player questions. Help is appreciated.
h3retic replied to [email protected]'s topic in New Player Discussion
if u start coughing, u better make a fire, and stay close to it for like 2-3 mins (untill temp indicator stops blinking) u will however still keep on coughing, but what ive found and tested a few times already is that after doing the previous steps, u simply need to reconnect. log out, log back in, and ure cured! :) and i dont really think u can die of sickness unless ure really a noob. u dont lose blood very quickly (i think its only 3 per sec) 12000/3=4000 sec, which is around 66 min, one entire hour. but yes having lower blood is certainly depressing to look at. -
:( the next time i logged in this gun dissappeared, farewell my love....

Guns Disappearing from Backpack When Disconnecting
h3retic replied to frasereight's topic in New Player Discussion
happened to me too, lost an as50 but not the ammo still sad i think u can avoid this by waiting longer after switching weapons. ur weapon switch is simply not registered by the hive if u disconnect right after u do that. farewell as50 :( -
[Guide] How to set up your graphics properly
h3retic replied to nahaz's topic in New Player Discussion
by the way, in game settings - video memory, "very high" corresponds to 512 mb of GPU memory or vram. if u have more than 512 mb on ur gpu, u should set "default" which would then use the default amount of vram detected by the game on start up (being the actual amount of vram on ur GPU, and thus higher than the "very high" option). also, another very decent way to improve fps is to set high priority to arma2oa.exe in task manager processes. (ctrl alt del - task manager - processes - find arma2oa.exe - right click - priority - high) (gave me 10 extra fps = 20% improvement) -
meh u dont even really need it
