servers lag when either the computer that hosts that server is not capable of running it well or the server has not been restarted for along while. if u get that lag. better just get the hell outa that serve and find something that actually works well

just delete the whole @dayz folder in arma 2 oa directory and reinstall dayz (not the whole game itself though)

start by checking if uve installed both dayz and arma 2 beta patch (if not already, i suggest u do it manually, its quite easy. follow the steps on dayz installation guide for the dayz mod files and for the beta patch, google arma 2 beta patch) if launched from steam, make sure to launch arma 2 oa with the 4th option (when u star the game ure given 4 options, play arma 2 oa, launch in window mode, reinstall battleye, and the last launch arma 2 combined ops= u launch with this last one) also, u need to insert the following line in the launch options for arma 2 oa (right click on steam arma 2 oa - properties - launch options) -beta=Expansion\beta\expansion;@DayZ -mod=@dayz -nosplash -cpuCount=4 -world=chernarus -maxmem=2047 -noFilePatching (this also is for optimization, set cpucount to the number of ur cpu cores, maxmem is ram and its capped at 2047) edit: and one last thing, after installing arma 2 beta patch, u need to go to the following directory (...\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta) copy arma2oa.exe from there and paste it to the main directory of arma 2 operation arrowhead (...\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead) i hope this helps

this is quite a good idea, however it requires a new reworked map (chernarus + +) in addition to aesthetics, it also needs a lot of coding (heli crash character spawns) also, think about all those projectiles falling from the sky at randomly picked locations ("o gee, look some shit s flying in the sky... i better get my as50 out" - sorta thing) edit: would be nice if something like this was applied in the standlone

in the standalone, we are *promised* to be able to dig in the ground like in a minecraft sorta thing current dayz, however, is pretty limited inregard to what and how much u can build put a tent here or there, maybe barb wire around it, sandbag in a random place (cuz that random place is the only place that ure allowed by the game to put a sandbag at), and maybe blocks ways in and out with a vehicle without any fuel.. meh not really much

"this is just a mod in alpha" - lets both lol at that so many ppl just say that when any1 mentions lag, gltiches, hackers its true, in fact, but seriously, alpha no alpha shit like this is barely playable i now only hope for the standlone

u can get something decent for arma 2 for around 500$ at newegg.com (or .ca if ure from canada) all u need is a i5, 4 gigs of ram and something above AMD HD5770 for a good +30fps (+40fps?) in this game

probably will just barely run with around 10-20 fps

standalone is our only hope now

seems legit dunno if this can really be applied to dayz though and anyways, we now just wait for the standalone and hopefully, and as promised, the hackign issue will be resolved

havent read ur post fully (not even 20% lol) but i do still consider this game playable, even after playing it for a long long time (3 months now). all the tents disappearing bullshit, and glitches are there but i dont really mind that i like this game for what it is there is nothing out there similar to dayz, and what is announced seems only to be a rip off with few credentials (referring to war z) ill wait for standalone and ill love that too :) edit: just found out who u really are, big fan :) respect sir still think dayz is good :P

pretty sure its just to have dayz on all the computers me i have 2 pcs at home, i got arma installed on both one pc older, another beasty and new :)

did u install the game urself on the first pc? like run setup.exe etc if thats the case, just copy the downloaded installation files (the ones which u used to install the game) to ur new pc and run the setup

all the global bans bullshit by battleye is such a pain in the ass i had a friend get banned twice for no reason (he actually bought 2 copies of arma)

ye but where did u actually download the game files from? (not sure how game purchase on amazon works) do u have like, .iso files (images of CDs)?

downloadable = steam? or BI web site?

u might wanna check the same place u found the vehicle at last time (if ur car disappears, chances are its just in the palce u found it last time = epic dayz logic)

check some vids on utube on how to use the dmr, its pretty tricky if u dont have range finder and arent familiar with the mil dots system good luck :)
