yee its always a good idea to use an online map ur issue might be caused by corrupt data in arma 2 files, although if that actually happened i think arma2 wont run. u seem to be playing with steam, so i suggest u right click on arma 2 oa, properties, check local cache fies 9or something like that) then do same thing for arma 2 itself.

why not just keep the 16:9 aspect and make it seem *cinematic* -
mmmm that video is only partially right the guy just puts everything on normal/low in arma 2 options, anything set to lower than normal makes the game use CPUto compute the graphics, anything high and above actually uses ur GPU, isntead. that being said, it is best to balance the workload between cpu and gpu, thus getting the best performance. Ex: i used to be getting 40 fps (with a beasty pc, arma 2 badly optimized for the new shit), after doing things here and there, editing my config files, drivers options, profiles and bla bla bla im at 80-90 on the fields, 70 in forests and round 40-50 in cities. thats the power of optimizing for u

i can actually help u with optimization for free and its not that hard, in fact u can do it on ur own, just need to follow some guidelines (which u can find online, just google optimize arma 2)

maaaan by giving him the reg file, u might have just told him the cd key ure playing under for all i know, and i do know a lot about optimizing arma 2, there is nothing in the registry that is supposed to affect performance edit: unless that by saying the .reg file u mean the files found in C:\Users\[name of user]\Documents\ArmA 2. These are not .reg but .cfg files then and u can indeed get better performance by changing some stuff in the .cfg files (also called config files)

try playing on servers with few people on and btw dayz gonna go standalone soon, so ull need to buy it again :) (soon = around october) the standlaone will hopefully fix the hacking, as well as add many more good features
