in settings change Interface size to large edit: i reread ur post, and now im not sure if what i suggest is really what ure asking for but thats all i got :) -
google optimize arma 2 ull get at least 20 fps in big cities also, arma 2 is more of a cpu game so u need a powerful cpu in addition to a good gpu

agreed but the more times this is pointed out, the less players will have lag not everyone know sthat of the top of their heads after all -
it wont be a "steam" game but ull be able to have the steam overlay if thats what ure talking about

There is no way that meh-level system can manage 150-300 fps in arma 2 in paintball maybe, but not here either he is a noob who thinks that the temperature of his CPU while playing arma 2 is his fps, or he just trolls u for the fun of it or he was talking of cod 4 or some game like that

visibility is limited on the server side in dayz so even though u may change it in settings, in game u wont see any difference

put lower hdr, and video memory to dfefault

will do ok maybe 20fps in cities although, the graphics card (GT 640) is rather bad by today's standards

wouldnt this mess up the whole instalation of the games? unless steam auto fixes that, i dont see how would games work without their corresponding registry data (some games do work, but i dont think arma 2 is one of these) -
i think u can manually update battleye files if ure playing of steam, launch arma 2 oa, and itll ask u play the game/update battleye/and some other 3rd option obviously u choose update battleye gl

heard of this problem before (slightly different story) but unfortunately havent found any fixes simply put, it would seem that dayz doesnt like when 2 clients attempt to connect to a same server from one network try connecting of a different internet network, maybe speak to a neighbor or something good luck -

Having trouble with Steam ArmA 2 and OA

Start steam as admin right click on steam.exe/properties/compatibiilty/ check start this program as admin (permanent fix) steam will display a message: "are u sure u want to do that", and u say yes -
yes it will quite easily even without overclocking 4.5ghz is a bit too high dont u think

u should have posted this thread in general discussion to start with (more views there) -
u can always play on a private hive that will leave ur old "normal" dayz character (to which u can later come back when u join normal dayz hive servers), and instead give u a new one

originally, dayz was hosted of one official hive (data storage where all the info is saved) nevertheless, today, different servers are often linked to different hives, and a new hive means a new character when u play on other maps than chernarus, u will have a new character that is saved by the hive to which is connected the server u r playing on but even for chernarus, there are many private hives a specific map does not correspond to a specific hive

u can edit the map in arma 2 editor press ctrl + E in main menu if u got mod=@dayz parameter in launch options u will have most of the dayz objects and characters
