DayZ Recording with Dxtory, bad FPS
h3retic replied to norsk2277's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
im the slow motion expert here lawl (check signture) that was recorded using dxtory, quite a while ago. but its really not what i woudl have used today i ve found so many ways to have the highest possible fps of recorded footage and quality at the same time one thing though dxtory wont do the trick (unless u have some really beast pc specs) pm me for more info -
arma 2 editor is rather tough on noobs but u can always try it out ctril + E in main menu

his system should give him way more than 30 fps even when recording -
DayZ Recording with Dxtory, bad FPS
h3retic replied to norsk2277's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
just record the footage to an SSD while running arma 2 of an HDD its always better to record to an ssd if u want to have high fps and high quality, because that combination requires very high write speeds 30fps@1080p is about 150-200mb/s which can only be achieved by ssd, or very good hdd -

h3retic replied to Argamore (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
lets hope dayz commander features that one day and i think that is quite possible think of geforce experience. its got a database of preset configs that u can download and use for ur games (optimizes + best visuals = not perfect but does help) -
Program for autoediting ARMA settings
h3retic replied to Argamore (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
there has been too many programs that claim "to improve ur fps" while in reality they just steal ur cd key. people are scared to use them now -
then UNINSTALL lol but really toolboxes are so common... trade a box of matches for a box of tools. seems fair, doesnt it?
-
its the server that is lagging u, most likely. check other private hives
-
no no i dont even own a server. but i do appreciate ur offer nevertheless i know people with servers and it is not an easy task to keep track of everything
-
me like!
-
no thats why they are private hives
-

-

-
provided that the admin from that server will actually look here which i doubt
-
portal 2 is a really light game even on highs - my pc would run it with around 200-300fps, but arma 2 only gives about 40fps in towns i didnt realize u had a laptop, there isnt really a way to upgrade a laptop, unless upgrade from a laptop to pc... gl optimize ur game (pm me if u dont know what to do)
-
btw the launch parameter to activate all core is -cpucount=4 (1,2,4,6 depending on ur cpu) BUT as of 1.61 beta patch for arma 2, it automatically detects ur cpu specs, and uses all the cores anyways (or at least so i remember reading somewhere)
-
1.9 ghz isnt fine people are struggling to run this game on i7s with 3.4ghz and higher although i do agree with u that a "real" gpu is needed
-
try updating bios its a common thing with amd cpus
-
the cpu is rather weak for arma 2 thats what causes the lag set high priority to arma2oa.exe in task manager (will give 5- maybe 10fps more) - win 7 might block that though - i used to be able to do this on vista, but not anymore on win 7 :( ingame sets: video memory to default post processing to off shadows to high or off arma 2 distributes cpu/gpu load when u select high/med settings. this means that if u set high something, ur gpu will process it, if its below med, ur cpu will process it. therefore, try to distribute the wordload mostly on ur gpu (by selecting high) because 550ti is not too shabby. other than that, u can try using Ramdisk (use a bit of ur RAM to create a drive. u put ur dayz mod files on it, and it flies with speeds of up to 600mb/s - compared to what seems like a 50mb/s HDD that u have there), also try selecting lowest options in nvidia drivers (specifically for arma 2) this is what ppl suggest Nvidia control panel: Ambient Occlusion - Off Anisotropic Filtering - Application controlled AntiAliasing Gamma Correction - On AntiAliasing Mode - Application controlled AntiAliasing Setting - Application controlled AntiAliasing Transparency - Off Maximum Pre-Rendered Frames - 8 Multi-Display/GPU Accelaration - Single Displace Performance Mode Power Management Mode - Prefer Maximum Performance Texture Filtering Sample Optimization - On Texture Filtering Negative LOD Bias - Allow Texture Filtering Quality - High Performance Texture Filtering Trilinear Optimization - On Threaded Optimization - Auto Tripple Buffering - Off Vertical Sync - Off u can also edit ur config files found in .../user/my documents/arma 2 oa http://www.armaholic...?m=posts&q=6713 scroll down there and ull see what u need to change
