    Not to be a douche or anything but even while the engines of A3 and DayZ SA are different branches of RV, this can definitely be ported over to DayZ SA which is why Orlok posted it.

    I don't think I'll ever buy it really. I kept close track of the development for quite a while and find the progress underwhelming. I doubt this will ever be the game I expected it to be but should I be proven wrong, I will be forced to take a look :)

    I don't play DayZ, it's not what I expected it to be nor does it seem to be turning into that :) I do agree that the game would be far better off with just first-person.

    I never said that. As it would be per server I really fail to see your issue with it, what's wrong in allowing a deaf server admin to force everybody to use text? If you don't like it, don't play there, it's not like they'd ever make up the majority of servers available.

    Came into this thread a little late but glad to see you found some people who understand. It's a shame there's no text-only setting that the server could enforce to level the playing field for everyone.

    I'll be weary for sure. I still haven't bought the SA and probably never will by the looks of it. It's sad to see how you people react to the OP though, what exactly did he do wrong? That comparison with Peter Molyneux was spot on :D

    The hitboxes of the skeleton can be made shorter or longer and slimmer or thicker as needed. But I do agree with you that MMORPGs do nothing like Arma in the department of hit registration. As far as I know though there's only the main distinction of body parts like lower leg, upper leg, head, torso etc unless they have extended those for DayZ SA. I've always wanted a game that simulated the full body as far as vulnerabilities go so that when you hit vital organs, someone's in deep trouble.

    Oh no, the alpha mantra again? It's probably pretty safe to say you'll only be able to pick your face and gender in this game due to the way the animation system works. As for your second point, how come MMORPGs can offer such a wide variety of char customisation without any trouble? Skyrim's customisation is nothing but a base-mesh with modifiers applied to it, you only need to compute those offsets once and that's client-side when the char owner starts up DayZ. After that you send out that data to each connected person once. It's no different from what's being done now with your face and gender. It may be a bit more data but it's not going to put a big load on the server nor will it cause any lag as it's information that's sent out only once when you connect.

    Great job emphasizing his point. You'd be surprised what people with 'disabilities' are capable of, the word really gives the wrong impression. Just make the global chat toggable per client and be done with this thread please.
