Nice! Glad you got it fixed. I mostly play on Balota Buddies nowadays, fellow mustachio Steak is a moderator there and the community is great. I only go on the public servers when I feel like goofing around but we can definitely hook up sometimes. If you prefer public servers, I'll install Skype as I do not have it at the moment but should you decide to join BB we can get down in Teamspeak.

If the manual install of BattlEye doesn't resolve the problem, you can also try the setup program for BattlEye. It's located in the following folders: \Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 2\BEsetup \Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead\BEsetup Chances are that running it from your user-account will allow the installation to go through. - edit I have to step out for a bit and I'm almost out of ideas anyway but I found this thread: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/130316-bad-version-server-rejected-connection-help/ You might want to make sure that you're actually running the OA beta. When you have the 'Bad version server rejected' message on the main menu screen check in the top right if it says Arma 2 beta. If it doesn't, you're running the regular version. Do the filepaths point to C:\Program Files (x86)\etc? I think you may be having problems with Microsoft's glorious UAC. I never install anything to the default directories because of it.

You would need to right-click your Dayz Commander shortcut and select Properties. Under the Compatibility-tab you can check Run as Administrator. Also, try going into Settings in DayZ Commander and check the file paths to your Arma 2 and OA directories.

Did you buy it on Steam or is it a retail version? Also, do you run DayZ Commander as Administrator? That might be necessary in order to update Arma as it's a separate setup-program.

whoops, you ninja'd me. You can install the beta patch in DayZ Commander. When you click the Install / update button and the new window appears you'll have three options: Updating Dayz Commander at the top. Then directly below it is the option to install the Arma 2 beta patches, there's a list of versions you can choose from. I installed the latest myself but as Fluxley pointed out, there's apparently bugs in it so you might go one version lower. Below that are the different DayZ-versions you can install.

When you run DayZ Commander, click on Install / update (top right of the window) and install the Arma 2 patch and download DayZ if necessary (just click the Install buttons).

I don't know why but I pictured R. Lee Ermey when I read that. I agree that the font isn't the nicest but to change is such an easy thing to do that I'm not worried at all.

How would you work that metal into a helmet if it isn't preshaped? If it stops a bullet, it's going to be pretty thick so to shape it into a helmet, you'd have to heat it considerably. I do like the idea of headgear obscuring part of your view though, this guy Darknut made a mod for Morrowind that did just that. The game has some crazy medieval helmets where you only look through a slit, not good for claustrophobics. And really, no-one posted this one?

Am I the only one that thinks this thread deserves to be stickied? Orlok's doing some pretty amazing stuff here and I'd hate to see it end up on any page other than 1.

BIS's engine can't be compared to 'normal' game-engines as it's doing a lot more behind the scenes. I only get 20-25 at most in multiplayer so I'd love to have your framerate. I doubt there's anyone running Arma 2 or DayZ at a constant 60+ FPS so if I were you, I'd just settle for what you have right now. Chances are you'll get closer to the FPS you're looking for when the SA comes out.

OP, do you have this mod installed? http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=5858 Anyway, try starting up DayZ through DayZ Commander and going back to the main menu. Check under Expansions which mods you have activated, if the GLT LHD is one of them, de-activate it and try again.

We should make Google point to this thread when someone googles for the meaning of 'must-have'. I do believe this will be in the initial release as Dean has talked about this alot in interviews and it would add so much depth to the game when 'weaker' guns can be better than the 'stronger' ones.
