Looks like you haven't experienced the Blizzard treatment yet. Jokes aside, the "when it's done" approach might not be so perfect as you might have us beieve. In fact, "when it's done" is pretty much the equivalent of saying nothing, but sounding smug about it. I'd rather not hear anything new than hearing "we're working on it so it'll be ready when it's ready." Oh gee wow, THANKS. Now I can't even pretend that there's gonna be some big announcment soon.

He's not just doing us a favor but to himself aswell. Marketing a product is what justifies the PR department. We are enttled to news simply because we were told, by him, that there was going to be some. Whether or not one will complain about this (i.e. there not being any news desite the announcment) or not, is an entirely different question. A mature person will understand all the things you say, but they also have the right to say something when not getting what was promised. So why don't you do yourself a favor and stop speaking from some sort of a moral highground and equating every user on this forum, that speaks out, with a child. Because you know what that makes you, right? tl;dr get over yourself, sir.

Well, I said it first. Remember my words, okay? I'm gonna be famous one day for this. DayZ Standalone is not going to be released by the end of the year 2012.

Furthermore, the game is most likely not going to get finished during holidays. Right?

Yes, it could be. Simply because until we get a definite official answer or some sort of news, pretty much anything is possible. But, since we haven't, chances are it's not going to be given the lack of any solid info on the game that's supposed to be in alpha state (playable).

Not being a negative Nancy here, but I'm pretty sure the game won't be out by the end of this year. It's logic. Why I think that? The game is supposed to be out in what- 15 days? And the only info we get is pretty much the info we all knew or was being speculated about for months, yet no pictures, videos, dates or anything. Still waiting for the game though and am gonna buy it when it releases.
