E3 Expo - June 2013 - Interviews and Gameplay
tilen replied to SmashT's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
On-topic though: I like what I saw! The gray skies, the gritty feeling- yeah man! I hope it'll have some eery, ambiental music to go with it as well. Then throw in some gas-masks, hazmat suits etc. in there and I'm going to drool! :P Oh boy I'm sure glad I'll be able to play this game come 2015 :D -

DayZ Standalone (Alpha Release Date June)
tilen replied to exomonkeyman's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I wish we'd at least get some info about the damn game. I mean come on... -
I have two major expectaions for the SA: 1. making the world seem grittier than what I've seen on certain unobtainable footage. Things like darker lighting, dark clouds on the sky, eery, ambiental music playing now and then... It really could use some S.T.A.L.K.E.R. vibe in my opinion. and 2. the ability or the option of finding (wearing) military gear such as gas masks. I do realize that the environment itself poses much less of a threat than in the aforementioned game, but still one can't be too careful as to not become a zombie, right? Also I think that in a post-apocalyptic environment it'd make a lot of sense to dress for protection and combat But yeah. Hope to see the game world a bit grimmer edit: and not to offend or annoy people: I have read your posts and am aware that the supposed leaked footage is old (although there seems to have been another leak recently), thusly you should regard my post more as a personal opinion and hopes and not as a direct reflection on seen footage

I love it as well, especially since games that are sold for 60€ (give or take) are rarely worth the price. It's just the people's mindset and good marketting that enables these absurd prices (which, by the way, often don't include DLC's etc.). And a side note: Arma 3 Alpha is awesome!

Standalone in June what do you think?
tilen replied to law1977's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Being a pesimist, I'm gonna have to make you a bet that DayZ SA will be buggy as ever, no matter how many more delays they decide to go with. Looking forward to seeing what happens but as it stands I'm not going to simply buy it the second it gets released anymore. -
I would think in a zombie apocalypse scenario there would be some dead soldiers and police officers about. I'm not saying everyone should be in camos, but it would be nice to be able to find military clothing. Besides, when was the last time you played a zombie game where you were actually a part of a proper task force (Resident Evil not included. That game is riddled with cliches)? I kinda want to play as a soldier that was or is a part of a task force, designated to combat the zombie epidemic. Or at least like in the 28 days later movie scenario. It would only seem logical for someone to properly equip himself or herself for survival and combat (protection) and I can't find a better alternative than military clothing and equipment.
-
I just don't want only civilian clothing to be avalible, that's all.
-
Well okay then. I look forward to getting it. edit: I really hope we'll be able to find military equipment and uniforms in the game. I wanna go all gas-mask post-apocalyptic soldier on them Zeds. :)

Good argument. I have to say that I'm finding it difficult to go back to* ArmA 2's level of graphical fidelity and technical prowess after I'd experienced what ArmA 3 has to offer. Seriously, ArmA 3 is amazing. I wish they'd make the SA using its assets. The island, the equimpment (military uniforms), the weapons etc. Just feels like an unnecessary step back, you know? *yeah, it's not the ArmA 2 engine but it will look the same and perhaps perform similarly as well.
-
Is the SA price still presumably going to be less than 20€ or has there been any rumors?
-
Quick question regarding the SA pricing.

Didn't know if there's been any update about this subject and I just wanted to get a quick response. As for the search button... It's harmless and useless. Anyway thanks. -

I don't frequent these forums. So either reply with something useful or let the mods do their work (if anything's not right here). -
You're not the only one, but I'd assume you're in the minority.
-
Hahaha! Getting riled up? We've all been down that road. :)

You know what? I think some people in this thread gave Rocket so much beans that he now needs no more money to survive. Therefore to have him and his team finish the sodding game we ought to deprive Rocket from his beans.
-
They're asking money for ArmA 2 and that's a glitchfest... there were other things that made a certain game so notorious, besides being unfinished. And on top of that, DayZ SA was meant to be sold as an Alpha version at the beginning, and for low cost.
-
I would love to see the thing being released already, as was promised. Nobody ever expected a finished, polished product and we're not gonna get one, even if it takes them another year... or should I say: two blog updates.
-
It's pretty much complete darkness all the time eh?
-
All this quiet... I, for one, don't like it.

This is a story about how Rocket broke my heart: At first my heart was doing okay... but just okay. Then, Rocket was all like: "hey Tilen guess what? You'll be able to play my super awesome game by the end of this year." And THEN he was like ... My heart is broken :( Don't act like nothing's happened Rocket! It's your baby too!!!!!!!!!!
