The guy that combined the Lingor map with rockets DayZ code did so without permission from rocket, or icebreakr (lingor creator). Thats the reason we take a tough stand on it. I played lingor in arma 2 OA vanilla, and it rocks. Dont hold me to this, but i expect an official version when standalone comes out.

These forums are for discussing dayz. OP is on topic so whats the problem ? Iv heard a lot about these "friendly hackers" recently,and although they may think they are helping people, they are actually further hurting the mod. Giving a server full of people as50's is not a good thing. With duping those 50 or so guns will have now multiplied like mice. AS50 is supposed to be a rare find and a big achievement. So much for a sense of adventure.../sigh

I feel your pain OP. We (my squad and i) recently won a great victory against a clan we have been battling for a few weeks. We confirmed killed 6 members before moving in on their camp in the northern most part of the map. One of them combat logged, and in the carnage that followed, i forgot. We jumped in their heli and made for the sky. It was glorious for about 10 minutes. Parked it at base camp. saved it a few times and logged off dayz to do some more flight training on vanilla arma. Server restarts while were offline and its gone :(. Having no other means of transport we ran all the way back there (16000 meters) only to find that the combat logger had moved it :( gutted. Oh well we blew it out of the sky a few days later. That was rewarding enough :)

Watch a few more video's to make sure its a good fit for you. Its hard to the core and non hardcore gamers often rage quit as the learning curve is steep indeed. In its basis its arma 2 dulled down. Instead of choosing a class and instantly having the best gear available, you must gather it yourself, as you start with nothing. Survival is paramount and one hasty action could spell your demise, and the loss of all you worked to collect. Zombies are everywhere but are not the main threat in dayz. The main threat is the players themselves, as some turn to the dark side and become bandits. Others become heroes, medics and trader. As the saying goes, "DayZ, what will you become?"

If your playing an official server loot will respawn in 2/3 minutes after the ground is cleared. Just make sure you move atleast 50 meters from the site.

The official rules stand as this. You may not kick or ban a player for possessing a hacked in item. The same goes for duped items. Its understandable that people may be upset that this person may or may not be hacker, but unless you have the logs stating that they spawned it in, no one should be banned. EDIT. If you should come across/kill a hacker or his corpse. here is what you should do. Take any legit items from his corpse as your reward. If he has hacked guns or soldier uniform and such, hide the body and rid the server of his presence.

You both make very good points. The problem is that there are no rewards for role-playing the good guy. Hence the current deathmatch state of the mod. As for the WOW comment. Leave that shit out he makes a very valid point.

So....In a nutshell, your saying if someone becomes a bandit, they kill themselves. This is probably THE worst idea iv ever seen put forward. Im all for some of the ideas such as, morphine/painkiller addiction after -5k humanity and such, but this idea is bad. Hopefully the debug monitor being removed in 1.7.3 will lower the pointless killings as they wont have a kill "score" to buff.

No such server exists. Not only is it against the rules of server hosting, as it would require further modding the mod. But as soon as one is announced it gets flooded with bandits.

It cannot be fixed until standalone. Most people are simply waiting for 1.7.3. Expect another surge as soon as it is released. It has always been this way.

There is absolutely no evidence that this was a hacker. Please in future situations like this, assume legit and dont cry hacker unless your sure.

Bandit skin persists through death and updates. Once a murderer always a murderer. Until ofc you give out many many bloodbags :P

Jumping to a low pop server from another is an exploit and is technically server hopping. Find a spot where you can see stary from +500 meters away and look for zombies. If there are none (means no player is there) you have a small window in which to raid the tents. Dont stop moving outside of the tents incase of snipers.

You were shot with an as50. Nothing in this video leads me to believe you were killed by a hacker.

Me and my squad were fighting another squad in stary sobor. We lost one guy out of 4, they lost 4 out of 5. The last surviving enemy made his last stand in the supermarket. We surrounded the building. He was fucked. I sneaked in the back while my friends distracted him outside the windows. I had the bright idea of throwing a grenade in. I blew myself the fuck up ! Funny thing is when my squad rushed in after the blast, the guy didnt even move. He must have been having some kind of laughing fit at my rather embarrassing demise.

Exactly This^^ also to OP, try reading the forums once in a while and you would know that no one can do ANYTHING about hacking while dayz runs on arma 2. Wait for standalone or please be quiet

Its an ARMA 2 "debug" setting that creates red blobs around enemys, green around friendlys and white around unknown targets. Its a bug that its still on the side of the screen like that, but not much can be done about it im afraid, as its an arma 2 problem.

OP didnt take any hacked gear. By his reaction he didnt even know what an ammo box was.

Says me. There's a big difference to being a "bandit" and being a "shitbag". Im a bandit, not the latter. Let me explain. Bandits aim to kill better geared players to take for themselves. Bandits set up ambushes in and around high population military zones, mainly to jack vehicles. Bandits look for and then raid camps, killing anyone who happens to be in the area. "shitbags" shoot noobs in elektro and pretend to themselves thaty they are the bandit god.

The AS50 and the m107 specifically are not all that good. Cant be used with NVG's and they are useless at close range. YES they can fire up to 1800 meters but hey, if you get hit from that range only you are to blame for standing still for 5 seconds in the open. In my opinion the DMR is far more useful.
