I got both these issues when i got a new pc setup and copyed the already installed game from my old hdd to my new ssd hard drive. Install the latest direct x and re install the game.

Yes you will be able to play dayz fine with that setup. Its not much different than my old rig and that ran smooth on medium settings.

Player proximity already stops loot spawns. Its around 50 meters.

Depends, on who you refer to listening to the shot. The AS50 shot noise is relatively quiet , but the sound travels a lot further than would appear. The DMR goes BOOM but fades off after around 500 meters. All in all, to zeds as50 is louder. To players DMR is louder,

I like this idea. Perhaps not the helmets as that takes away the headshot danger. Not keen on the one bullet knocking you out when it hits the vest either. This would give an advantage to people not wearing them, as the bullet wouldnt have knocked them out. Perhaps have it so only a 6k damage shot would 5 sec ko you.

Dual core 2.5 ghz isnt up to the task. Arma 2 is very taxing on your cpu. Try lowering your resolution as far as poss in game. Then put your game settings on normal, or the game will dump even more stress on your cpu. Failing that buy anew pc :)

Legit guns are fine to take, especially if you killed the hacker yourself. Picking up a gun that you know is hacked in makes you as bad as the hacker that spawned them, if not worse for putting it to use. Taking the "you cant get banned" attitude is not helping the current state of hacked guns in the mod. The reason we have a problem now is exactly that.

DMR is the most dynamic sniper in the game. It has many uses and is spot on up to 400 meters. SVD looks cool, but doesnt perform as well, and the ammo is super rare. Making it obsolete in my mind.

^^^Always end up being pay to win. I downloaded war inc recently, to see what the engine is like for the dreaded war z. First ten minutes i thought, "yeah, this isnt bad" Then i went to upgrade my sniper and realized i could buy any gun/attachment/perk/armour/gadget for an absolutely rediculous price. Safe to say i wont be playing that again :)

That is correct. But if you know for a solid fact that said gun is a hacked weapon, your no longer innocent. What really gets me about this is the people that whine to (and even threaten!) us mods and devs over hacked guns being in the game, when they openly admit to having one in their inventory right now! The hackers didnt make these camps filled with hacked guns, the players did. By picking them up and sending them round different servers by being shot. If everyone didnt take the "but rocket said" attitude we wouldnt have even a fraction of the problem we have now. Do the right thing and hide that body. I came across an SVD thermal the other day. The thought of taking it didnt even cross my mind. Took his gps though cheers pal !! :D

I have a few mate. Not counting the uber weapons. AKM - seriously powerful and can be zeroed to 800 meters (not that you can see that far while aiming lol) Lee Enfield - One shot, one kill and can be found literally one minute after spawn. M14 aim/ DMR - Both pack a serious punch and are very versatile
