  1. Jonh (DayZ)

    PvP damage and healing system.

I don't think you actually get to scavenge and survive a lot there though. It's just that I feel HUGE gap between PvE and PvP in DayZ, I don't even have time to feel frustration after being one-shotted from person I didn't even seen, rather a scorn look and tired "Thats it? After all those struggles?".However Sadly closes this question it seems.
  2. Jonh (DayZ)

    PvP damage and healing system.

Its not particularly realistic to run in zombie land scavenging stuff, respawning with full pockets of food, meds and handgun, shoot morphine to heal broken bones, eat food to heal yourself without getting fat and vomit, sprinting for hours with small breaks for food and water and so on. I speak not for realism but for balance and when it comes to games imo balance >>> realism.
  3. So I've been playing for a week or so and while game mostly feels survival pvp feels way too fast. When zombies mostly hit you for 200-500 blood, firearms usually kills you in 1-2 hits. Even makarov easily shoot down a player with single mag which can be unloaded in less than second, not mentioning for head shots which are too common for lying characters. Crosshairs could use some recoil honestly, since most automatic rifles (and sidearms usually has incredible fire rate too) blatantly accurate. In the end pvp in DayZ usually ends right when someone willing to kill spot another person. Being spotted by someone outside of your team you are VERY likely to end up dead without much chance to prevent it from your teammates. While usually not that bad, I would really like to see some actual survival in PvP. How I see it. Damage should be tweaked and probably make firing harder. If there ever gonna be protective wear (armor and helms) that could help. For now weapon damage I see like this: Handguns: ~750 blood per shot (depends on power, revolver could use 2000+). Shotguns: ~3000 blood per shot, higher chance for knockdown? SMG: ~1000 blood per shot. Rifles: ~2000 blood per shot. Sniper rifles: over 5000 blood per shot Obviously guns shouldn't knockdown as often as they do now, and still maintain damage on zombies. Pain from shots should be more noticeable than from zombies and probably less broken bones, unless you shoot for legs to prevent people escaping. Anyway lowered damage leaves some actual room for surviving after being shot instead of simply force you to respawn. Like getting in building, bandaging yourself and leaving you room to fight back. There's else another way for teamwork for example if your blood hit 0 you don't simply die but have about 2 mins for your teammate to recuperate you, but you lie unconscious while that. Another shot will kill you though. Healing and blood in general Healing is very hard and somewhat weird if you actually play alone, knife and matches are hard to come by and normal food heals only for pathetic 200 blood. Bleeding is a real kick in the balls. Regenerate would have some use but that aside for now. Also you get pain much more often than broken bones but you spawn with 1 painkiller and 2 morphine for whatever reason. If anyone actually played Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth they know how awesome healing system was there. To elaborate you had sutures, splints etc; if you run out of these items, there are certain wound types you can't heal. There were else different body parts you had to take care of. Obviously we are not going to have it here but still amazing. I really would like to have to scavenge villages for small stuff instead of having complete pack of bandages and painkillers right from spawn. Water could probably provide some regeneration, since you can't restore blood on meat alone, even thought thats easily abusable, so maybe 15 mins buff for regenerating blood after drinking water. Maybe allowing blood transfusion via bag on yourself when you find a certain stuff for 5000-6000 blood. Thats about all I can say for now. Thank you for your attention.
