  1. Hello,

My friends and I are planning to have a little LAN party at a friends dorm to play Dayz. We will however have the same ips. Unfortunately we can't test if we will be able to join the same servers (we all have different keys) before the lan. Is it possible to do or will we get kicked/denied connection?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Sorry for the late reply. You might need admin rights on your pc to change it, I'm not completely sure.

    1. Open taskmanager

    2. Go to processes

    3. Right click arma2.exe (if it isn't the right name, just look at which processes which use the most RAM capacity and you should find the right arma2 process here)

    4. Go to affinity

    5. Force it to use all cores/2 cores. Do not change it if it is already set to multiple cores.

  3. Especially when he has to go and mess arround in registry :P

The reason I had to 'mess around' in my registry is because it would give an error every time I tried to start up Dayz through the commander. (had something to do with an extra /) I got the solution to that problem from a thread on THIS site and there was someone who has the exact same problem as me on that same thread.

It's pretty sad to see you act like such freaking dicks to someone trying to play this game. It makes you no better than the cheater you accuse me to be.

    ps: this thread

  4. The reason I posted this here is because, at the end, this is the DAYZ-community forum and it is in fact the same game you're playing which I'm having troubles with. I deemed it would be pretty likely someone had encountered the same problem.

As for the receipt, I know this isn't definite proof as it doesn't specificly state I bought Arma2:CO, but please realise that my case MIGHT actually be real (blocked out the personal information)

  5. These things might not work, but they are worth a try.

-go to task manager while running the game and force the process to use 2 cores

-set priority to highest in task manager

    -run steam as an administrator

-check your virus scanner, it might be doing regular scans (quite unlikely)

-run dayz in window mode with task manager open, when the lagspikes occur check which programmes are using a lot of CPU/RAM

-monitor the temperature of your cpu, especially when the lag occurs

Arma2 is a game that uses a lot of CPU power compared to games like BF3/GTA4, it's quite possible your laptop simply isn't fast enough to run dayz at a solid framerate.

  6. Hello,

Earlier today I bought Arma2:CO and downloaded DAYZ straight after installing it. After fixing some problems regarding the registry entries, the game finally booted up without any problem. However, when I try to join a server I get the error displayed in the topic title. I've done some research and from what I've seen people usually get this error after being connected to hacks or having their cd-key stolen by a hacker. I have however, never even played the game and can't possible have installed a RAT/"cd-key stealer".

I have sent a support ticket as stated in the sticky, but me being me, I really wonder if anyone else has had this problem and what may have caused it. The only thing I can think of really, is that the problem lays with the retailer (gog.com) as I've seen another case exacly like this (with the same problem prior to it).

Argh this sucks, I was really looking forward to playing this game/mod! :(
