About rynovh

  1. I've noticed this the past 2 times I've played. I was transferring gear from one area to another so I could do some serious killing. . . and both times I got "no message received, blah blah" shortly after I had placed the gear on the ground together, and had to reconnect. I hadn't thought anything of it until now. It may purely be coincidence, but who knows.
  2. Incorrect. I never use it in a combat scenario. I literally only use it when I'm on a long hike, and that's it. I know of other players that do this as well. However, I realize that a majority of the people using third person use it to be more aware of their surroundings. If third person view is left, and crosshairs disabled, it would put people using it as an "exploit" at a disadantage (in theory), as they would now have to peek around a corner in third person, then switch to first person to be able to aim, taking up an extra second or two of their time.

    Auto Login script

No, my point is that it does "just the same". People spamming trying to get in to servers kills the game.

Hell, as far as I'm concerned, it would be nice if you couldn't even fire if you weren't in first person.

    Zombie speed

I think what happens is that they sprint at full speed when they're after you, combined with Arma's buggy path finding = the tiny adjustments they make to get on your ass makes them move erratically. I like making missions using a mixture of the "infected" and "zombies" using The Undead mod. Maybe 5/2 ratio of regular zombies to infected sprinters

Yes, and lag up the servers, Death2u.

Yes, I have head bobbing on zilch. The models still move like their joints are made of Slinkys. Which you get over, and accustomed to after playing Arma, however, you are not normally jogging for 30 minutes in your standard Arma experience.

Honestly, I would like the "pan and scan" and crosshairs turned off, but leave TPV. There's simply no way I can walk 10 miles in first person view. I would throw up. This engine treats you as if you're Michael J. Fox. I carry a shotgun or rifle around every day for work, and I don't jiggle around like I'm McFly trying to shave his pubes. I travel destination-to-destination in third person, then when I hit a town, or come in to contact with someone, I hit first person so I can engage them.

TL;DR People that want to play with third person view are allowed to, people that want to play in first person view are allowed to. Whine more, play less.

    Zombie speed

I use to rage over them, but then I learned all the tricks and now it's just a matter of jogging to the right area, then taking my sweet time and popping their heads off with the makarov. As others have said, hit up a building, stairs, or hill (I didn't know about that one, good to know) and you can laugh as they become claustrophobic nursing home patients.

    +1 for this.
  12. I would love veteran mode, minus forced first person. I only use FP for using my weapons in this game. Even with headbob and deadzone (which I enjoy having on) turned off, you're still very jittery in FP and I literally get sick from it. So when travelling I use TP until I get to a town or make contact with someone. I agree that crosshairs and spotting is silly to have. However, working with a group at the moment without highlighted names doesn't turn out so great. Say, you're in a building with two of your mates, you each clear a floor, you finish, head up stairs and see a guy in a white shirt, black vest+pack, Oh that's just jimbob142, sweet! *BLAM* you're dead. It wasn't your buddy. Someone else just had the same model. Even if you were chatting on TS/Vent, what-have-you, you're talking to jimbob142 who is looting on the second floor, you're more than likely going to think it's him. Do away with crosshairs permanently, but unless we all have custom characters, it's impossible to know who's who at the moment
