I'm not too sure how to help you. If you're using Steam you could use some launch commands. -winxp is a fairly helpful one. Other than that. You probably have to upgrade. EDIT: I get around 70 fps in small areas. 50 in Elektro. 40 or 30 in Cherno. On some servers I get 100 frames.

Seems like a good idea. But 24 hours? I can't even stand DayZ for more than 5 hours. But thats just me.

So what have you done to survive in DayZ? I climbed up a ladder with one of my friends (We were being trapped by zombies. Trust me... There was no way out). I shot him in the leg with my last bullet of my AK74 to distract the zombies. Sadly, karma caught up to me. And we both died. We had a great laugh. Anyway: What about you? Have you betrayed your best friend like I did? Had to kill bandits/heroes? Take a risk such as almost killing yourself? Do tell me! EDIT: This post is about what you have done to survive. Not what you have done to have fun. This is about if you got desperate or did something crazy. Because you had to live. Like when I killed my friend to make the zombies leave us alone. We both jumped off the ledge to get away from the zombies. That is what we did to survive. Because we were desperate.

How serious do you get in DayZ? When I meet a player I usually tell them to back away. And if they run, I shoot. If someone finds me and doesn't want to team up. I have no choice but to kill them. Which can be hard for me sometimes. (I try to be as friendly as possible, which can get difficult sometimes). I can't take the chance of them following me alerting zombies and perhaps other players such as their friends. When I meet a player who is about to shoot me. I double press caps lock preparing for a fight. Yelling at them saying not to shoot. That it is a bad idea. I just try to knock them out or shoot their leg and leave them alone. A lot of the time I just kill them. S**t happens. But what about you? How serious do you get? Do tell me!

I don't like the idea of having a boss. I would prefer DayZ stays like The Walking Dead sort of way. One type of zombie. The ones that roam around looking for a nice tasty meal. Having an end game would bore a lot of people. No one would even bother to look for an end game. Have a look at all those snipers in Cherno and Elektro. Though, I do like the idea of becoming a Zombie for a short while. Perhaps you could kill yourself by pressing the respawn button. For people who don't want to play as a slow zombie.

Hah, I've read some stories on the DayZ mod forums. But this is by far the best I've seen. You have my beans.

Before you played DayZ, did you expect a little more than what you found out? More survival than pvp? More pvp than survival? More features? I expected a game where you can travel to get supplies against a somewhat realistic zombie survival game (Which I have been told this is what DayZ is). Being able to drive cars/bikes/boats/helicopters is what makes this game so perfect in my opinion. I didn't expect any less than what I see right now in DayZ. But what about you? Did you expect more from this mod. Or is it better than what you thought it would be? Do tell!

Try some of my ideas. If it works. Congratulations! If not. You are just going to have to upgrade your pc. Remember that 30 to 60 fps is good. EDIT: If you're recording. Try Dxtory. Fraps takes too much frames away.

Trust me when I say this. YOU DON'T WANT TO OVERCLOCK! I did it on my old laptop before I got my gaming pc for Arma 2. It overheated and turned off all the time. I didn't even get that much of a good performance. If you're overclocking and recording at the same time. It could possibly destroy your PC.

I don't know a lot about computers. But overclocking can be dangerous. Also, try tweaking with the Arma 2 settings to see what works for you. There are other ways to improve fps. You want to get atleast 20 - 40 fps. I usually get from 50 - 75 fps. If you use Steam you can set the set launch options to -winxp which might help. This increased my fps from 50 - 60 to 60 - 70. On some servers I'm lucky enough to get 100 fps. Go to your documents then find the Arma 2 txt file. You should see maxframesahead_1000 and another frames set to 3. (I'm not on my gaming pc so Arma 2 isn't installed) set them both to 1 and that will increase your fps quite well. Turn off the settings in Arma 2 that will destroy great fps. Such as motion blur, Shadows, anti aliasing. Those sort of settings. You should also try out Razor Game Booster. It disables all the background processes and makes room for faster gaming. (I'm pretty sure.).Make sure your resolution settings in Arma 2 isn't too high if your pc isn't good enough. Your 3D resolution should be set to %100. Hope this helps. If not. I'm not sure what to do other than upgrade your cpu, gpu graphics card and such.

So I've been thinking about ideas for DayZ. I'm probably using this part of the forum for the wrong idea. But hopefully my intention is correct. * Perhaps a radio in a few parts of the infected world of Chernarus. Positive - There are two way radios. If you pick up one. You could send someone a message from the other end. Negative - The radio makes a loud static noise. Zombies would be able to hear you if you traveled with it. Sad Part - Most people would be using social software like Skype to talk to other people. * To cloak yourself in zombie flesh (The Walking Dead's idea Season 1 Episode 2) Using your hatchet to chop the zombie. Positive - When you cloak yourself you could completely disguise yourself in rotten filth. Negative - If you ran too fast, the zombies would be suspicious and run after you - When it rains (Just like in The Walking Dead episode) the blood would wash away. And the smell would just go away and the zombies would be able to smell your clean skin and blood. * A new animal: Horses, being able to use an animal to travel somewhere. Positive - You could ride your horse to travel to specific locations. Negative - It acts like your character. Needs to be fed - It gets tired - Zombies can attack the horse and will die - Bleeds when hurt - Legs can break - What do you think? Let me know!
