    Trangia

I don't think we need a lot of kitchen equipment - adding sets of poons and forks, you know... is a bit off. But a portable propane stove would be quite useful - much more compact than firewood, more stealth as there would be no smoke or light from the campfire, faster cooking.
  2. Those concrete walls you see in the game most of the time are 3 meters high, so you'll have to pull up to see at least anything, exposing your head if you chin, or half of your head if you pull up to the eye level. Thus you would actually EXPOSE yourself to anyone behind it. So you can't bargain out current third person camera this way. Also, peeking around the corner of an obstacle exposes you significantly less than peeking over it.

    Defibrillators?

If it can bring you back to life not more than 5-10 minutes after you "die" and is one-time-use (You know, it's a hell of a charge there), then it won't be a "god item" you carebears are whining about. It will be another good addition to the medical system - sometimes you can have a second chance. It should be quite rare to find, take about 20-30 seconds to use, and keep player at low health and unconscious - just imagine trying to bring back one of your teammates back to life while others attempt to keep zombies at bay: -Fuck! Fuck! ...FUCK! -Come on! -... hey, they're getting closer! -..Clear! *gunshots* -We have to go, NOW! -Hang on, for fuck's sake! -..Clear! -Watch out! *gunshots* -..Clear! ... oh, no freaking way! Got the pulse! He's alive, guys! -Now shut up and drag him! You wanna be a dinner, or what? That would be priceless.

    Advance Equipping, swapping, dropping

Yeah, was going to post some of these ideas already. It's not THAT hard to implement if the character appearence system has bodygroups. This way the system can even use "world models" for slung weapons and slung bags. Yeah, took that quick drop\reload idea right out of my head. Maybe a double-tap on a weapon assingned key (or on the "holster" button to just drop it) would work good). Check my suggestion out - might work pretty well in conjunction.
  6. OP, do you even poll? And yeah, it's not about what kind of game it is - FPS or whatever you want to imply to save your TP camera. What is important - this game is about survival. One of the cornerstones of survival is seing your enemy before sees you. Thus TP camera lets you cheat by looking around the corners without even getting close to them, let alone the ability to look over like they are not even there. You are FORCED to use TP camera, as otherwise (if you use FP-only) you'll die due to having less combat information than your cheating TPcamera-using opponent has. I want to dfeel immersion - peek around the corners to see the enemy, sneak along the walls and fences, but I HAVE to use TP just to stay alive. FP needs some tweaks, but it's the only way to play such game. The only place for TP is a campfire so you can cherish your gear and enjoy the whole view.

    Standalone Climbing?

Definately need SMK to be implemented ito SA and the mod if possible! And yeah, climbing is a must-have. Sometimes it can save your life. Though: Ability to climb should depend on health fatigue and adrenaline Heavy gear slows you down Damage interrupts the climbing And yeah, glitching is not that much of a problem in a game that virtually any area is accessible. It's not THAT dificult to fix climbing so people won't glitch around.
  8. Check this thread about how CQC can be handeled - be it zombies or other players. it doesn't take away mindless swinging (which will be fixed too, I guess), but hey, we should have options.
  9. Want a game to be easier for you? Go play WarZ. DayZ is meant to rape you in the face if you're ignorant about your survival. If you want to play alone you have to carry everything on your own - morphine, food, ammo, weapons. Bloodbag is a situational tool - want to heal up quickly? Then go find yourself a team or risk your life by asking for help from a stranger. DayZ is all about the choices you make. If you're not ready for that - find some place safe.

Added some of the ideas into the OP. Hope we'll have some Dev team attention.

    Trains

Well, only satchel charges might do any significant damage to them. Not sure about sniping. it wouldn't be that easy as you can hide on the floor, or just in the cargo one. Saying it would be constantly sniped is like saying "let's remove cars because they are constantly sniped" - it's not the case, traveling across the whole map on an autopilot with virtually no cargo space restrictions finds its niche for survivor groups and makes the map more interactive. Also, about stealing. You can't drive a train off into wilderness like all these hoarding faggots do, because there are no rails there.
  13. Uhhh... do you realize you're offering exactly what is described in the OP? (unless you were answering someone else in the discussion) What I suggested is far from minigames and QTE's in their main meaning (slam random series of keys to not die). It is block\break\attack-based although I haven't played Dishonored I should try it now. You can't select the weapon during the struggle though - you have in your hands what you've been caught with. But yeah - consequent attack\defense moves are the base of the system. I'm still on fence about using firearms in their primary meaning during strugge - you know, they are supposed to me effective from more than several feet away - any weapons specialist will tell you that one of the main rules is to keep distance. So to ease things up for implementation - I'd say say they should be used as improvised melee weapon - exception would be finishing blows.

    Indepth Vehicle System(SA)

I like these ideas. Especially fighting zombies that try to hitch-hike. Hah, nice one. Well, Rocket said we'll have crafting, so you can try and make copies unless it's a laser key for Maybach, that is.

Third person vs First person view

Guys, guys, GUYS! It's not about removing TP or not - it's about fixing the exploit with it. The rant about removing or keeping it can go forever! But making it fair (as staying hidden is one of the main warrants of your survival, which is not the case in CoD) is the question. Any more ideas about the mechanics?

    Vaulting and Climbing aspects

I'll just leave my beans here. Crossing city over rooftops is a must have.

    Underground Construction idea

Maps are not voxel-based. This way anything that modifies the landscape is quite hard to code. Did they even confirm underground building?

    Grabbing

Check this thread, man. Glad we think alike. The more feedback it gets - the higher chances are it gets implemented.
  19. I decided to make it a thread as it was too fat for a post and it had to be described in detail. That's why I've put a link to your thread up there. Also, I wanted to get some feedback and use it to refine exactly that method of struggling. Just add "method 5" option with a link to my thread and decription:"method based on action moves and equipped weapons (possibly post-release)" that way you'll save your original post from being oversized.

Third person vs First person view

As RooBurger said - it's not the question of realism, it's a question of exploits. Having weapons holstered might work, but still it leaves the ability to UAV over walls and such as you perform it while enemy doesn't see you yet anyway. If the question is about FOV - it can be done by changing the format of the screen - say, when you press "extended view" button, it adds cinematic black stripes on the top and the bottom of your screen and thus changes format from 3:4 to 16:9 or even more, so you could have wider view angle. It was done in Assassin's creed if I recall correct.

Third person vs First person view

Or you can always stop trying to be smartass and think about the suggestion. Why don't you two have a nice cup of STFU and read the original post before posting your crap? TL;DR I see that some people are very attached to TPW, that's why I don't suggest to remove it, but fix the exploit with it. Why splitting to TPW and noTPW is bad - has been already stated - noTPW servers are empty and what is worse - it splits the community. That's why I want it to be single build without Hardcore and ForDummies.

Third person vs First person view

Okay, so I can see now that half of the community still want to have third person, no matter it lets you to cheat by looking over the walls and around the corners. This is wrong int the game where stealth is critical. 1. So a simple solution would be to fix it in elevation - this way you still have full situational awareness, but you can't UAV over fences and other obstacles. It can be either fixed in elevation or can folow terrain, so if you go uphill, it will look up a bit and when you descend it will follow you down. The crosshair should be free in movement though (but I wouldn't shoot from third person if I were you anyway). 2. Second way might be quite resource-intensive. You know, if you use a flashlight it lights up only the area it spills it's light on. What if everything that is not in your First person LOS would be blurred out while you're in third person? This way looking around the corners would be highly ineffective. I don't know how hard is that to implement such shader into the game. Even a way to do it technically is suggested below. (I'im not very competent when it comes to rendering, but it sounds plausible) EDIT: 3. EDIT2: That can help with with prone third person exploit and fix the problems with tall grass. Thoughts? Ideas?
  24. Problem is - you don't always see names. I would even like names to be hidden untill you actually reveal your name to someone. Also, remembering names like Xxxponyslayer232xxX kinda breaks immersion, so recognizing killers by the deeds you or others witnessed look pretty great to me. It can give you false information with that heartbeat system, so you have that "human factor".
