Diving, Underwater Bases/Caves and Water Vehicle's

i would prioritize freediving in game to be honest. don't need the extremely rare pressure bottles, i don't need a BCD, i don't need to worry about looking at my pressure gauge. and i think that in a place like Chernarus, residential diving equipment would be pretty much non-existent. NEW MILITARY LOOT ANYONE?! -

i have a possible solution for the compressor problem: there is a chance to find air bottles. these bottles have a randomized capacity and there is a random amount of air in the bottles. you can also get rebreather systems (extremely rare) which uses smaller pure oxygen tanks and the air you breathe in and out. this makes it more realistic to dive for a long time, while still using a reasonable amount of tanks. btw, rebreather systems exist: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebreather -

i see why you want this, hell i want this! but the weight of the equipment is extreme, and that is my major concern about this. -
did you think about the extreme difficulty of aiming in a car?

What are you talking about? I am Gordon Freeman! Just look at my crowbar! (the previous statement was actually a complex gesture to give the intended message)

also you would need to power compressors with electrics. would be awesome if possible, but i don't think it is. -

as a certified SCUBA diver i feel the need to say that diving with pure oxygen will result in disaster. on a more serious note, do you have any idea of the weight of SCUBA gear? i have a single 10l 300 bar DIN bottle and only that weighs about 22 kg. you may think "that's probably the extent of the weight" but in conditions portrayed in DayZ makes it very likely that you would need a drysuit to dive comfortably. that makes the lead weights to probably need to be let's say 6 - 10 kg more. add in the anti-material rifles that some will inevitably carry and you are set for not being able to walk more that 20 metres. (add in the bottle being a potential missile and you can see why this would not work.) EDIT: forgot the ) at the end :P -

the katana should not be implemented. why? how often do you see folded steel katanas? the store bought, made in china variety can't cut cheap-ass bottles of water. three of them stacked actually destroy them. -
Bandit Hunting, are Bandits the good guys?
radivmoe replied to CF Mallard's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
there is no good. there is no evil. there is only survival. with the exception of coast snipers of course. -
i am torn, i have two scenarios! either it is the time i gave a bambi a ride with a littlebird and attempted a double backflip and a barrel roll, or it's the time a random bambi amushed me with a crowbar in the elektro supermarket. he hit me like 5 times. 3 revolver bullets to his chest and one to his head taught him not to mess with me. Edit: when i crashed the LB i made it out alive, while the unconsious bambi in the chopper died when the second explosion happened.
