Get a bipod and try again. The power is less though, but the accuracy is too neat! I also noticed that certain buildings have the same loot every time you go in there. For example the red building in Zelen at the military compound always has a pot on the stove xD And mostly a Mosin on the floor...

Okay, I also said that I know it is alpha and Hombre made the right statement here: Why am I making this point now? Well, I bought the game not to just play it but help with it. That's why we all should've bought the alpha. I am just trying to contribute to the concept of a more even, more balanced game. And even if Hombre said it right, that with additional experimental stuff the balance changes every time, I still think there is too much military gear ingame!

[HOWTO] Test Experimenal Builds / Help the Dev´s to improve Quality
Gurk-o-vich replied to Sloddor's topic in General Discussion
Props to you, man! I just came across the "experimental" thing today and did not know how to contribute! Now I know and am grateful for that! Edit: One question: If I set this whole thing to exp, my char from dayZ stable is supposed to be saved, right? :) [sUPPOSED!] I know you wrote that in the topic, sloddor, but just to be sure ;) -
A bug ruined one of the best dayz stories ever :/ please fix rocket
Gurk-o-vich replied to cmcdo207's topic in General Discussion
I broke my leg once at the castle in the north because the wooden stairs just let me through :D All other stairs I go up/down crouching because I've seen players clip through walls and die or just break their legs walking downstairs. Ladders I didn't experience as buggy as their reputition is within the community ;) -
I noticed realistic ballistics with the SKS. Even if I lie down and aim through a PKU sight I won't hit anything for sure within 300-500m ;) That was fun to see because this seems to have the most realistic behavior so far...
-
Okay, we really didn't notice even on very far distance! That's what was strange to us... But well, if it is there it is just slightly with snipers ;)
-
Keep it out of the community then, you little douche! :\
-
A buddy and me experienced that it isn't in DayZ standalone. They just shoot a straight line no matter how far the target is - no bullet drop so far?
-
So the "problem" for you is that there is no objective? Wait for the new update. Hunting is going to be implemented over the next months I guess so there you go. Hunt some deer, cook that meat and dispense it or something. Now there is just running around getting into battle with others when they cross your way afaik ;)

I'd rather like to see more variety in character choice... like being able to select the age of your protagonist. That would be neat^^

This might be off topic but I want to adress the FPS issue... So I was tinkering with resolution, antialiasing, textures and so on and came to the following conclusion: Nothing I tried did resolve those heavy fps drops when on certain spots in towns. However I noticed that when I turned my resolution up, deactivated antialiasing, put textures on low (the other stuff I just deactivated) I had the best result. Did any of you guys also try cranking your settings? What are your results? System specs (might help): RAM 8 GB GeForce GTX 560 Ti So actually that should suffice for a game like this to run okay... but apparantly it isn't?!
-
What's your point, man?!
-
Strange, I do that all the time with leftovers I have in my hand and this never occured to me. What item did you put in your hand? Maybe that's important :)
-
Well... my experience has shown me just to don't trust anybody. I switched from "ask questions first, decide what to do later" to "avoid making contact" and if that does not work: "Shoot on sight!" Basic survival for me now...

The problem I see is not that he left an unfinished project. It is that he slandered it quite a bit by saying "fundamentally flawed" - this gives the impression that he never really believed in his own project and disrespects the work of his co-workers putting so much effort in this game. I always try being reasonable: Dean has decided to leave, that's fine. What isn't is his self-portrayal over the whole development of the game, he, the king of the mountain - and now he resigns with those words? This can never be okay, even for people who are ultra fans of the game (like me). This ain't about the game, this is about the attitude of Dean as a human being! This point seems to be forgotten by so many people. I know I repeat myself: Respect for telling people he wants to face other challenges and other projects, but do it like a reasonable person, not a douche!
-
Yes, I don't get either what's "finished" about this project. Kind of a quitter...
-
Thank you - I don't judge you for that, this is your rightful opinion and I respect that. His future is basically what we are arguing about. His act right there might have destroyed his future for many players, hasn't it?
-
First I didn't say you were a dev of DayZ. You really need to learn to read my statements. Second if you had 10 month and an idea and actually had shown people over the first year your game was out there in alpha that you worked on it more than for two month then, yes, people would believe you. Since this isn't the case I think your assumptions are based on something like a good will to the project.
-
Actually we drifted apart from the "is he loved" argument if you read our discussion ;)
-
Again: No way it is going to be FINISHED after 10 months. You as a dev have to have the insight on that?!
-
And where do you get that this is a beta release estimate? There is no evaluation in Deans utterance... he is just saying he'll be leaving the project by the end of the year - probably because his contract won't let him out earlier... Everything's a rumour - even what I wrote.
-
I think you have an optimistic view there... I am just trying to be realistic here, so don't be offended: Look at what changed over the last month... I just recognized a few new items, some performance enhancements here and there aaaaand... that's it?! I didn't see fixes in PVP attitude/pay/penalty, in zombie gameplay or whatever... either they are holding back on us or they are programming some smaller things we can't really notice. I really don't want to spit in anyones soup, I just don't see it! Just putting it out there :)
-
I meant: Is it clear to you what his "ultimate gaming experience" is gonna be or what he is planning on doing after leaving a very, very, very promising work of art here! I am with you. If I get Dean right - IF - then I respect his desicion to leave the project: He doesn't see potential in "his" own game anymore. And there we have the "unfair part": He does not believe in himself, he is indirectly telling people that they invested in a project that never had future AND on top of that he is more than mean to his colleagues...
-
But Rocket can't just take all the credit, then piss off with an statement like he did... it is unfair to his co-workers. Somewhere I read a complaint about the "Created by Dean Hall" sentence on the menu screen; I also found that strange...
-
Yes, I read that - but is that clear to you? To me it isn't...
