  1. Thanks, ah ok, i thought it meant something more in terms of a more hardcore survival experience(scarcity, etc.). But it heads in the direction of a private hive/perma death theme. Die and you can't respawn for 12 hours? Not bad, puts a lot of weight on your shoulders/decisions. I like it. But i guess if i say i would play on a private server/first person only/day-night cycle+cold weather it would look like this -> 1/50 ;) but i like the idea
  2. Hardcore mode? Where can i read something about it?
  3. Its not that bad...in .55 before they put the placeholder system back in, i rarely sprinted when i was travelling across the map. it depletes energy and hydration levels quicker. When they finally fix all the survival mechanics (fishing, cooking, etc.) you can hunt, fish, farm, gather fruit, use traps(rabbits). Especially fishing will make life easier. Or yesterday, i put 2 rabbit snares in the woods outside of a city and went scavenging, when i came back i caught 1 rabbit. 2 pieces of meat, 1 pelt, guts. Not bad for doing nothing. People just need to move away from the mindset that they need to scavenge for canned food all the time, we just need working survival skills/tools.
  4. like someone said, it will come with the implementation of the stamina system. Of course, the current sprint speed is pure arcade mode, its not here to stay. But you can bet, that there will be alot of tears when they take out the turbo mode ;)
  5. wow, thats great to hear. finally some night time action, about time.

    Cooking in .55

Everything is easier to find now.... did they fix anything this wednesday? or is cooking still kind of bugged? is roasting meat with a stick already in or postponed till .56?
  7. Would be great if day/night could be part of the game again...its just a waste that nobody likes it. Like its now, its like running through sunny greece 24/7.
  8. exactly, this is where modding comes to play, after the core game has been developed. Like you, i hope the dev team will keep their direction towards a ruthless survival experience, where the lack of food is as dangerous as the stranger on the road.
  9. look, its just a fact. It is not possible to balance a game for all the different tastes. I like very hard survival games, the next guy is turned off by any kind of difficulty. and usually plays his games on very easy to have a "relaxed" experience. This isn't about beeing superior, or that you have to invest 10 hours eating apples to survive. I never died of starvation or dehydration since the patch, i started multiple characters to experience beeing a fresh spawn, i never had to fight starvation for a few hours. At one point i was energized, hydrated and healthy everytime. You just had to be smart about it, and don't sprint everywhere like 90% of the player base. It will even be easier to accomplish when fishing and cooking isn't bugged anymore. This is not rocket science...when you check the actual heat map of player activity, you know what went wrong. The point is: You can't please everyone. The devs where very direct about the direction of the game, and it will get alot harder down the road, if you can believe them...
  10. Loot scarcity will be back. Lets hope they get it down for .56. We know their vision, this dumbed down, easy mode loot system is just a place holder, as you know. The core game will not be balanced towards the casual market:(i got 30 min to play - i wanna own!). Personally, i will have to wait for .56, cause i can't stand the abundance of loot. I get bored with very easy games, the survival element is nullified.
  11. In fact it doesn't really matter, let them work at the issues .55 has caused. I also loved the scarcity the patch provided, but they need work at the survival mechanics. Bow bugged, fishing bugged, cooking bugged etc. I think people will accept it more when those functions actually work. For my part, i will take a break until .56, cause i can't stand canned food & soda on every corner. Also, let them gear up, stockpile food in 40 tents, who cares, it will all be wiped eventually.
  12. Cant wait for the fix for private hives...every where you go, you find masses of soda cans and canned food. No challenge at all. Cant stand public hives because of the server hopping mentality.
  13. True, but its still possible. I like the one char per server rule, ergo private server. It also attracts more people with a travelling/accepting loot attitude, cause you can't change servers.
  14. Lone Wolf, i kind of get less social the better my gear gets. You just can't take any chances. I am more the nomad/explorer/survivalist type, i don't hoard items etc. I try to survive as long as possible, i always head north. I kind of reached my "goal" for a character, when hes well fed, hydrated, healthy and geared above average, and at the northern border. I don't need the best military gear etc. I kill when i feel threatened, usually i avoid other players. Had some rare occasions tough, where i would team up with a random and had a really great time. What i really would like to experience: Private Server(no server hopping) with persistance enabled(Scarcity), Day/night cycle, First Person, Clans/tribes/factions, Tent camps/trade outposts. I would love to play a kind of hunter/gatherer/medic/scout for a clan, providing food/water/leather/medical assistance etc. I really like playing lone wolf, but team play felt also pretty rewarding.
  15. ??? pvp is still there, even with increased zombie count. You just need to be more careful with taking shots and if you are unlucky you need more time to gear up...so where is the problem exactly?
  16. you actually can...i ate 1 chicken and 2 cows worth of meat raw cause i was starving....i did not get sick. On a new character i ate 1 deer worth of meat raw, i also did not get sick.
  17. I'm just curious : what would you do if you were in my situation: Raiding NE airport alone. Stealthy approaching tower. Playing smart. Not a single aggro. But as soon as I enter tower, 2 zeds somehow aggro and charge THROUGH wall, facing airstrip (!). Then 1 of them insta-hits you with no attack animation played (all I saw was running animation), and knocks you out (on 12k blood). Then both start chewing me. I had an silenced MP5, PDW, ghillie suit and GPS (most valuable things) Situation - inevitable death without you being guilty. What would you do? Would you accept your death from a bug? And losing hours of progress without even making mistake? Just curious, no offence meant. P.S Situation described took place in latest version. guess i would rage, but i would/will accept it. Maybe the Zed went straight for your throat ;) Would you DC because someone shot you in the head with that equipment? Same situation, your instantly down.
  18. good pics, another example why this should be fixed asap.
  19. Zeds are no problem. Observe, play smart, be stealthy. No matter what, you shouldn't have a "quickload" button.
  20. What a stupid thing to say, this has nothing to do woth COD. You disqualified yourself.
  21. no problem with food/water whatsoever, especially after the removal of offliine hunger and thirst. Got 3 Full Water Bottles, 2 Pepsi, 2 can of beans and 3 cooked meat in my pack.
  22. ok, it needs tweaking, but don't go back to the "crawling=invisible to zeds" again...keep it hard.
