    Who has never played DayZ mod?

    Me! Never played any ARMA game. My PC came out the ark (2004) so until I get a new rig later this year I can only watch twitch. To be honest thats geting old hat and a bit boring no matter who is on. A part of me feels its a bit lame watching a game being played by somone else. But while the twitch bandwagon is there, no matter how out of fashion it might be now it’s the best I can do.

    I’ve never played only watched DayZ on twitch but more and more I see players feeling the guns are not right mostly taking shots expecting to hit and miss. Forget fires and lovely add on stuff if the guns are not realistic then it’s a huge blow to the game for me. I’d actually rethink if I wanted to play a game that comes over as false. I want realistic as it gets so if I kill or even get killed I can appreciate the skill needed. Making Guns more easy to use just kills games. Make it a high learning curve after all your ttying to create a survival game that depends on skill and not a shooter aimed at ten year olds.
  3. I have a old Pc so cant play so decided to wait later to get a new top end rig although I did get a new 27” screen there for the new set up. Anyway all my usual people I watch on Twitch are not playing the SA and I mean the lot. Some are playing the actual old DayZ Mod others ARMA III battle royal etc. Don’t get me wrong ARMA III BR is still good viewing. As I pop in weekly did I miss a game changer for the SA or is something huge happening and the SA is offline???
  4. If they stick to that plan and achieve it then it looks like by the time I play the game it will be a whole new ball game from how we see the game played today. I’d rather they really nailed the performance issues before trying to push to far its adding things. When you see the game flowing on twitch from fire fight to simple gearing up and its all running well it’s a joy then you get times when characters are killed due to lag and general poor performance from the game and it becomes what must be hateful from the guy actually playing it. A lot of time is invested in gearing up and it must burn when you loose your kit so cheaply due to a bug or general poor code etc. But that list suggests the team are saying bring it on!!!! I wish them every success is crossing off each of these road map milestones. Its a long drive but I hope it will be worth it and worth the wait in my case.

    new patch fps

    Never played the game but surly FPS means everything in what I presume by watching Twitch is a quick reactions game. Yes its not a fully game yet or polished but I would hope someone is always working away to get the performance right. I intend to buy a high end rig later this year to play DayZ SA and Elite. Coming from a 2004 machine that was top end at the time things today are amazingly more powerful. Its basically down to lazy coding is it not and that can be excusesed right now. I was watching a stream and thought this is great it runs really well then I found out it was some mod for ARMA III that was more or less DayZ ARMA III and not the SA. Because it ran so well fire-fights were brilliant. The game needs to run well or it’s a waste of time. Looking forward to reading it has vastly improved.

  7. Zombies last time I watched had little impact on the game, if anything a low level annoyance like midges that are around. Yeah some do lash out and some get hit. The players enjoy them certainly not seen anyone having a heart pounding moment over any Zombie. The game seems to kick in when someone sees players not in their squad or group. If a fire fight happens and you’re injured or out cold then the Zombies are a problem. What personally I’d love to see is Zombies that are capable of making you think they are a real problem. Path finding, Ai, disease threat and how they actually detect you need to be spot on to make it all come together and work. We already know the PvP aspect of the game works well and what most people are interested in. Certainly the best moments come from human v human contact as far as I can see when the game runs ok without lag etc. I don’t want to see wave after wave of Zombies to balance the threat out. You should be able to clear an area. Spawning zombies out of thin air after you have just killed some in the same place just seems wrong to me. I always hated in BF2 that a squad leader could enter an empty Bunker and because squad members could spawn on them you could have a constant stream of players leaving the bunker as if entering out of thin air. I’m sure Dean and the team will focus more and more on Zombies as time goes on.
  8. I currently don’t have the pc to play it, rocking a November 2004 PC here that has done me proud. Watching a twitch stream is as close as I can get just now. Just bought a split new Car that is arriving early next month from the factory and as you do I went a bit silly with the toys in it.So the new high end PC is later in the year probably after summer now when I can appreciate games again when the weather packs in. Really looking forward to this and the new Elite. I wanted BF4 to be the BF i'd always wanted since BF1942 & 2 but its not by the looks of it. Even Sim city that I bought more years than I care to remember looks really poor and so watered down and small. So I have High hopes for Dayz.
  9. Commenting without a brain lol Its not a complaint it’s a concern, huge difference mate but I guess everyone gets there in the end. I did not realise special needs school was out until you posted now that is less of a concern and more an insult ;) just to keep you right!
  10. Sorry been out of the DayZ loop for a good few weeks. I thought Zombies spawned once per server restart and if they did re-spawn it was in someplace currently without any players. Reading a few posts it seems the basic thought is lost to keep it fair on the player. You want to be able to clear out an area for survival reasons but keep the threat that Z’s can move in for outside the area you have spent precious time clearing. You absolutely kill the game if Zombies just keep coming out of thin air for no other reason that the developers whats Zombies in your face. Really disappointed if this is the case, disappointed Dean would allow such a poor system to arise in a game with such promise. I live in hope this is not the case having never played the game yet!

    The argument is simple you can buy them everywhere in real life and considering you can find rare sniper rifles this really is a basic thing to have. Its one of the first things I’d pick up after a weapon in real life if such a far out non fictional situation happened. Not played the game in any form it has to be said so dont know if such kills the game play. If you want people to do more basic surviving like cooking food drying cloths and even taking shelter than you want to encourage them. Having a way to check out your surrounding for a distance will help. Granted someone could spawn right on you and I don’t know how you get round that as lets face it appearing out of thin air is not realistic but has to be done.
  12. Got to say who ever does that Morgan Freeman would brighten up any game and you just could not kill the guy. He has it down to a fine art. It’s not just a loose try that sounds but his whole answers are just spot on. Of course there will be the lesser spotted Dean you could run into, the Batman guy who uses sound clips and the original Music guy.
  13. I hope they watch what they are doing with regards to nerfing bullets, or it could just be broke still. But watching a streamer charge at a guy and unload a clip with only a T-shirt to protect and he did not die!!!! Really please for the love of god don’t make it BF4….. Keep some respect in the game, bullets take you down fast at close range. Felt sorry for the streamer as he was outnumbered 3 to 1 in the Camo building and decided to go out in style and take one or two with him. Only for his shots to give the guy what looked like a tickle. If we go down the “We did not want players killed so easily they don’t enjoy it and it make for a worse experience” Bull I’m out of here. I pray its just bugged and not fine tuned yet!
  14. So will they have to put this in Experimental branch or right to stable? a right just came on the Iphone screen- Hotfix to Experimental overnight. "We have a hotfix prepared for the texture (FPS lockup) issue. It will be deployed to experimental overnight to confirm, then consider stable" I take it stable is playable or is everything affected? If so how does it get to stable without notice?
  15. Just watching a stream having never played the Mod or SA. But the guy I was watching was in a building up stairs, he tried to firstly fire through the Gap but even though it looked fine I think all the shots registered hitting the stairs ( not great) More alarming was that he seen the guy panic and run under the stairs and went down. He had the guy in his sights and fired first at close range. He blew the guy away, but the guy was still able to fire back. Surly there should be an effect when you get hit multiple times close range you can just casually turn a fire a few shots back. The guy being shot would have been pushed to the ground or wall with the force of the hits. It just looked wrong that he turned as if saying “ oh I’ve been shot I’m shooting back” The only thing I could try to explain was if he had a bullet proof vest or something.

    It’s also causing internal injuries after piercing through nerve ending some puncturing vital organs. Have you seen how high people jump with just a pinch. I understand being able to fire back but then you really needed to see this situation. I get that at range, but walking down a short flight of stairs and opening up close range the guy on the receiving end should have just been a pile on the ground. should not be able after ten rounds to run round and fire back. Its not that I expected them to fly across the hall just go down far quicker. Unless as some have said the hit boxes are so out a whack that even with it looking like you just could not miss with every round some did not register. I’ve seen a few clips of the rag doll and it does look so more realistic. There are small Calibre clips on Utube some I’m afraid to say see Cops in shops with vests going down like a pile of bricks in one or two shots. That I'd never link too. The US forces guy in the link walks away. Real life hits at range as you can see this brave guy is calm enough to fire back and shout out for help. http://youtu.be/rLHU-_OhT8g

  18. Will there be a reward system for characters that survive. I’m only watching Twitch streams but to me if the Character crafts something, does something like clean their weapon then they will have learned from it, healed another players. Started a fire to cook. Next time it’s attempted it will be done quicker or have better results. Healing a player from a character that has survived many hours and done this a good few times should heal or bandage with higher results. Maybe more health is returned form a survivor rather than a fresh spawn. I don’t want to play with artificially putting a negative on aim on a gun or the like just because you are new, that should be left to true skill from the player sitting at his or her screen. After all some people will just be naturally good at it. If a character has survived so long and thier is away to measure or track that they have indeed been playing and not sitting in a house clock farming then surly they would build up resistance to say Zombie infection etc. Maybe got over the shakes of hunger on a lower calorie diet. I just think apart from loosing gear that is the number one threat and a good one more needs to done to encourage survival at all costs. Given players have built up experience and the bonus that brings then when groups meet up or individuals more communication may be forthcoming to keep both parties alive. Its too easy just now to except that if you die your mate in say a small squad will pick up most of your old kit and keep it while you either run back or meet up later in another location. Just before I sign off I must say the experimental raised a new addition I’ve not seen. A group of players un armed chasing a lightly armed players full of kit. They knew if they logged off they would lose their stuff so had to keep running. In the past the player would have simply vanished, so well played.

I'd love a life Counter when you got killed on the death screen. “ Joe le axe-7 hours” “Mosin Pete 16 hours” You cant use it for bragging rights as you could have played seven hours on servers different from everyone else and its just luck in the end. I just think its alarming how easy it is just now playing in a group to get back within no time most of your gear. You hear on the streams after a fire fight, “I’ve spawned at X dam miles away hold on I’ll jump off this roof”” Then “I’ve spawned at Y be with you in ten minutes” Maybe certain spawns are locked close to the area you were killed. Yes its annoying not being able to get back quick to play with your mates in a squad, yes its going to take you half an hour to meet up. It is fair on the guy who shot you as your out of the fight and just reward for running out of cover like an arse. Hence dismissal of life has a time penalty that just might make you think twice about that risky balls to the wall move. Part of the attraction I think after you get rid of cheats, Bugs etc should be it’s a killer when you lose your character. Right now for some reason there seems a lack of genuine fear when another person is seen the way the mod used to be. I cant put my finger on it, it could just be players have got used to death and not bothered now. I’ve got a win win situation having never played the Mod or SA yet so its going to scare the absolute crap out of me and I’m going to love it for it!

Never played it really, only five minutes here and there on the Wee one's Consoles.That’s exactly what I don’t want a game that gives so little value to character life, so much so you don’t mind being killed every four minutes. Its bad enough players playing in small squads three or four getting killed and able to spawn back close enough to get back into the fight. They get their old gear their mates looted from their corps within ten minutes. So you could find yourself killing the same guy over and over in a fire fight that lasted a while. Given it’s a disaster the more you survive and travel about on foot running the fitter you’d get at the very least. Stamina would increase and your ability to run further and carry more kit greater distance. Never played it but can you just Run forever? I see guys running with Rucksacks full of stuff without any drawback. Unless the whole population took Commando training before the Virus hit :)

That would be Five minutes max that anyone would be happy to wait to get rid of the low lifes ingame and cry babies that cant help but cheat, glad to help! :) Plus that would be experimental to get the balance right. So many are backing that Hoppers, stream snipers and the Alt-4 brigade are run out the game or made so powerless they give up. Coming to a game near you very soon. But I do agree keep up the good work, every minute spent on Anti-cheat or Hack is time well spent.
  22. Lolo trying to justify server hopping or Alt F4 due to family in hospital excuse. That has to the funniest thing I’ve read on here. Yeah Dean I don’t want to loose my character so can you change the game for everyone because I might have to go out I don’t know! It could be a family emergency, you know the thing you get every time someone shoots at me! :) If family are in trouble man up and kill the game and take the hit, if your still thinking about a lost character you’re a dick!!!! Seems like the Hopper, Stream Sniper babies are in full panic mode over the way the game is going to make sure its played right. Lets all back Dean and run these big girls blouses out the game. Ok some have very little skill and just like to bail rather than fight and enjoy the experience. Logging out is not a win if fired upon and never will be. Only win will be the players sticking on the servers looting your past character knowing obviously the player being looted still has not learned how to play. I’d rather get killed and appreciate the way it was done and learn why it happened. Hopefully I’d give my killers a hard time of it. You can actually see players are surprised if playing in a squad against a single player and the single player gives them a fight and even takes one of them out. To the guy that fights back knowing the odds are heavily stacked I tip my cap. Bring it on Dean and staff to get rid of such annoyance. Reward the true players and forget about the cheats.
  23. If they fix the loot then your all set, no need to hop and if you did hop then you only need to get one fresh server. If a player jumps from fresh server to fresh server and again fresh server then I feel really sad for them as they dont get it, non skill loot seems to be interest over playing. Not saying thats you or anything just my thoughts on it, totally understand while new stuff is being added and the loot is broken but once its fixed it cant be an excuse and needs policed. I wish Dean and the team every backing in cutting cheating, hacks, exploits of any kind and stream sniping. I would hope people finding these in experimental would help out and report them.
  24. Is there anything to stop players tracking players on servers, will this hopping thing do it. Only watching on twitch as my PC is an old 2004 build. But having the guy stream sniped by a fire team over and over kind of kills the enjoyment for the views and the poor streamer. Plus 30" seconds sounds a really short time. So if I was in an ATC and seen a three man squad and opened fire only to take one out and the other two get the drop on me down stairs I can just log off? Do the other players get notice I’ve been an arse a Alt- F4 and bail out and therefore can rush to the position. From what I've seen 30 seconds you'll be lucky if the other player even dares to look up stairs unless given notice. Would it not make more sense and I’m coming from not knowing or having a clue how to code or program to have a Golden shot rule – You take a shot then your on the server for ten minutes, you simply cant leave and if you do it keeps your character their for that time. Also if I was in the ATC and did not fire but was fired upon and the shots were within meters then a five minute penalty should exist that you cant leave if you do all your stuff drops to the floor and you cant log back in for twenty minutes. If connection is lost due to server restart or fail then fair enough. If your system crashes and you were actually playing fair or decent then I think most would accept its bad luck and accept it part of the game.
