I know how the kickstarter works as I backed the new Elite game David Braben is working on. We smashed through to 1.5 million pounds. If you had done that with this you’d have won a watch! In the elite game we have an emblem that is going to be transferable from ship to ship in recognition that we backed the game. Some backed heavily starting with £20 and jontying ( you’d have to be an elite back to understand that) basically upping your pledge time and time again to hundreds. Considering DZ has customizable characters you could have gotten a Patch/ Badge to transfer onto your character to show you backed the game. It would have been a gold mine and right now it would have kept everyone interested. Elite even had Book deals etc that made 4.5K to the cause a few times. Starting point could have been £15 early bird support right up to anything with character Decals/skins!

Its not that we don’t appreciate direct contact with him in here, just stop coming out with promises or sweeping statements that he cont fulfil. He had a lot of streamer ready to try the new Alpha, they got excited ready to share within there streams how the game was progressing. There was its coming soon, within the next few weeks, next week etc then blank nothing! I have no doubts he is as honest with us as he can but he need to learn to no be the excited kid with the new toy and bring news that he can back up and at the right time. Considering my distrust to large gaming companies like EA that more or less cross the line of lies through suggestive media at least with Rocket when he does come out you know he’s not deliberately trying to mislead us.

I bet near Christmas for release hence why I feel it’s a missed Window for this game. The console lads will jump ship with PS4 ad the new Xbox due out before or around the end of the year. ARMAIII has its vague 2013 release date set and it takes the whole engine and game experience to a new level .They sort out the FPS rate currenty and get even remotely like 60-70 maxed out its going to be some game. Somebody already added Zombie soldiers to ARMA III, so how long before a Zombie mod it done for it. Wasteland for ARMA III was out within a day. The promised release before Christmas 2012 was understandably dropped in favour of a proper well designed game. The Alpha was promised week after week and came to nothing. I wish they would just be honest and say listen its late 2013 probably December. If anything the whole thing is shown up for its total lack of organisation with one day saying we will have a weekly update, well maybe every two weeks, then again maybe if we just have something to say. We have a saying in Scotland “Your a Rocket” and it fits the bill. Someone that’s all over the place, a clown, unorganised, slightly barmy. We all want the best game but we just want to not be led up the garden path. Think the Guy is very Honest so I really think he's just out his depth running a project like this.

I dont have a Pc to even run this yet but he's missed the boat if you ask me, other games like ARMAIII have came out and the interest must be slowly ebbing away!To tell you the truth I'd now play Wasteland in ARMAIII over a Zombie game now but that a bit to do with hackers killing any game i watched on a stream.

Well done! Enjoyed the catch up! You can still see Zombies follow the leader even with the update. looks more complex than just plotting a stright line avoiding stuff would be. Although it works well while running just looks a bit daft when you are ahead and you turn round to see it follow your path and actually going away from you to come back. Be interesting how a group looks. If the nail the Zombie feel to bring it from mere pest to fear on contact they have a winner. On the streams I've watched the only things Zombies did was give away that a person was there. After watching ARMA III wasteland Ihave no fear this game will have a totally different feel and style of play when it comes out in the summer.

I guess it’s a hard one. As they know the game has a bit to go and don’t want to lose followers. The balance has to be right or it comes across as stringing along people and for some the could lead to resentment. So any news is good. But they do have to keep us on the end of the line with that worm till the game comes out. Fortunately I cant play the game till a new PC rig arrives later this year but even I’m looking forward to the Test release to see what they have done. I watch a lot of DayZ, Wasteland etc on Twich its about all I can do in a 2004 build. There was nothing worth getting a new PC then boom five or six look to be coming out. War Thunder, DayZ standalone, ARMAIII, The new C&C game, Sim City and Elite Dangerous (that I have already bought as I was a backer on KS) Roll on the test! Main thing for me is fixing the hacking and glitches you see on every stream and try and get a performance gain.

I like the feel of the blogs, relaxed no pressure info shared. Hope to come back in today to a new one. Even if its just rocket filming himself driving into work talking about the game.

Good that they can just flow in. I was thinking this game in Standalone must six months at least away when they are redoing the Zombie animation but I guess it must be a bolt in kind of affair. I wont be playing this till late this year or early next so I’m just happy with updates. I have noticed a fair few streamers that did stream a lot of DayZ have moved on to other stuff. The game really does need an injection to ramp up interest in this that I fear is waning a bit. Looking forward when the lads can stream more than twenty minutes before they get hacked.

Could you not lock of Third person view when next to walls etc? But out running in fields I actually think it works well providing a sense of peripheral vision that’s more truer to real life. I watch streams and it’s used extensively to see over walls while being protected. The other night a team were held up in the control tower building and one of the lads was using third to see out the windows and up at the actual tower he could look round 360 while his characters face was facing a wall being prone on the floor. I would not consider it a cheat as everyone can do it. I’ve seen only first person and to me it ramped up the tension in game for the better. Third person is great for views of the streams all the same as it shows the bigger picture.

I think the idea of a dog companion would be a great idea but how do you implement a NPC Dog. Does it just follow you about or can you tell it to attack or search for food. Plus its something you could not over do if everyone had a Dog it would just become a joke. Maybe two or three on a server if you go into dog kennels or something and click “Bond with” to form a partnership. Trouble is when you log out with your dog does it come back when you log in and what if three other players had logged in with there dogs. Be interesting going prone and the dog instantly doing the same beside you. Now a Ai scripted Zombie Dog would be easy to limit the number, make them rare and control in game.

I don’t know if it was a hack but I watch a lot of Twitch DayZ/Wasteland and I kid you not there was rabbit’s. Not killer Rabbit's all the same. Zombie Dogs sure would put the fear back into the game.

I know this sounds selfish coming from someone that’s never played the game and is happy to wait till late this year even early next year (Elite Dangerous) I watch streams on twich and you pick up on problems that spoil the current mod. Hacking being a massive issue, that DSync that pops up is terrible also. I look forward to a genuine finished game rather than a half baked rushed super mod standalone. Rockets genuine enough not to show us anything till he’s happy with it. Every time they lock something done as done and happy they can move on while other things are needing finished and it will add to the game. Problem is not to make promises or imply things heavily when he can’t deliver like a blog every week and I say that with respect. I genuinely feel he just does not have what he want to share ready yet.

Never played the game only watched it over Twich. But the Zombies before were like window dressing, it looked nice having them about but they did nothing much. Players certainly were not the least bit bothered by them. It was more a Zombie comedy flick than a horror movie! It was actually refreshing once in a game when some sad hacker spawned thirty Zed’s near a group of players as it put the fear of death in them and they had to think quick and react. For two seconds they thought about just moving server but stayed with it. Crap move by the kiddie scripter all the same but great to see an actual threat from Zombies for a change. They even had to rescue a member of the group. When I last played games I played BF2 Project reality mod as anyone who has played it knows it was BF2 Hardcore. IF you played like Rambo you lasted 15 seconds. You have to have skill and put a bit of thought. Used to cringe going back to vanilla BF2 and thinking very little skill was needs or on show.

I know a few feel its pointless and meaning less adding stats like time alive but I’d really enjoy knowing your character life span. And I would even enjoy if I got shot the other guy could see how many hours/days I’d lasted and how many kills I’d got. How about a in game Diary or Note pad, so when you kill someone you can read it off their body with the stats.

I actually love Rockets enthusiasm that comes across, it’s not a developers trying to trick us by showing stuff a certain way or give us false suggestions. Just a very rough ( and I say that with respect) Blog. It’s honest and that’s what I like. My only negative is those walkways over the swamps. They look geared for game play over what you’d find in real life. If a place need one walkway in real life that’s all they will build not four walkways running parallel. It kind of has a artificialness of a Galf course if you ask me. I prefer to keep it as real world as you can and let the players just cope with how it plays out. It’s a bit like positioning a building to be a good sniper point when in real life there would be no call for it to be there and no sense if you get me. Great the clothing all the same as all I can do is watch streams just now with my 2004 PC still being used till my new Rig later in the year. My point being in the streams everyone can look the same. Now a player can shout “You in the red cap” It’s all good. I’ve nearly given up watching DayZ by some streamers as they are getting targeted by hackers and this needs seriously addressed.

I like it's places know one knows really and kept small. You cant do NY that would take the whole map. Don’t get me wrong block fights and Heli jumps from skyscraper to skyscraper would be interesting but a huge City would be a Zed's fest. -

Been trying to follow everything I can so I knew this was being implemented. I take it when you say the Zed’s will re spawn they don’t in the same area hence you can clear an area now for a time as it should be. Zeds spawn back in to that area when no players are present and some get killed on another part of the map? Gives a very clear train of thought, is this village just empty of Zed’s or have they been cleared out and therefore players may be there. I don’t like Hacking in any form, destroys the game but recently on a Stream someone spawned like thirty Zed's in a spot next to the squad playing and streaming. Instead of them just agreeing the server is compromised lets leave they played on. The result was great they had to run for their life’s, hide in barns while shooting what they could. Help out squad members needing it etc. I just sat back and thought how refreshing this team are wetting themselves in fear of the mass of zombie’s for a change. As apposed to the usual feel of the Zed’s being like cockroaches you brushed aside. Be great if it got to the point players had to rest up at night in buildings, watching and keeping safe, thinking about exits and entrances while some of the squad had a fire going in a room cooking meat. As the threat form Zed’s was too great at night. Even if it lasted an unrealistic 30 minutes of night before dawn.

Great if Zombies spawn map wide to springing up when a player is around. Could create some interesting tactics and surprises. I always think (and I’ve only watched dayz) the Zombies have been an after thought for too long. Players treat them like a slight annoyance over a threat. Make them more of a danger and you have to shot them giving away your position in a village. Players now cant instantly know one is there with the lack of Zeds. If the Zeds are walking about there could just be pockets of areas with unacceptable risk. I’d love a set number to spawn and if a player got killed it added one at that spot.

Worst person to comment never having played anything DayZ or even ARMA due to my PC coming out the Ark. (don’t worry new pc getting bought later in the year ready for the New Elite) But even I’m super excited about this game. Have to say Twich has been a blessing, it lets us be part of the game without playing and very enjoyable. So glad the Zombie spawn thing is just at the start and map wide rather than spawning when players are in the area. It’s a Tactic when moving I’ve noticed on Twich. “Right there is zombies someone is in town” To me that’s lke playing hide and seek and one of your mates not playing is standing pointing at you in the clear to give the game away. Anything they can do to stop hackers is a bonus as so many games I’ve seen get ruined. One minutes everyone is excited and enjoying the map and game the next its all over.

Had it on from start to finish. I had Lirik: on the main screen and the guys that run it on the Iphone. It’s a shame I felt it was spoiled at the end by the moderators or Camera men or what ever you call them. Four hours and it came down to Lirik: getting killed as he started ignoring fire due to it be done not by actual payers. Great you run the games but very poorly done at the end. Let the players play in peace! Poor Lirik: felt he could not stop when a few times he was first to an area. I’d add the rule of an actual rough time you can camp as it were. In reality without the non camp rule Lirik: being first would have killed most of the players entering the city at the end. My other question is streaming that Map showing player locations, I’d drop that surly that is open for abuse. God you could have a friend texting you if you were in the clear or not, so best to scrap it for the viewers.
