It's known and yes is a pain, but will most likely be fixed in the standalone.

Interesting idea. Would need to bring batteries into the game though, which they may or may not already be doing not too sure. Cd players may be a bit much to run off batteries, but alarm clock would be good.

Devblog update: Where is the Standalone?
Hartraft replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
And in addition having all buildings become enterable you will be spending A LOT more time trying to find loot. Say one town at the moment has 8 enterable buildings it's pretty easy to loot, but when all 30 buildings become enterable, well you get the picture. -
The green circle?

Instead of making it vital to know your blood type, perhaps they could make it advantageous instead. Lets say that using the wrong blood type heals you for X amount of blood, but if you take the time to find out your blood type and then find the corresponding blood bag you get healed for the full amount.

I havent had a look at all your ideas yet but maybe you could have included them all in one thread instead of making lots.

You want some more progress screenshots of DayZ Standalone?

Beat me to it! I was gonna say, couldn't have looked too hard1 -
Following on from: http://dayzmod.com/f...hat-about-1744/ Where Someone quoted Rocket explaining why there would be no power: I think a great suggestion would be that certain suburbs/cities or the whole country (perhaps not) had begun to dapple in greener electricity. This initiative saw countless street lights removed and replaced with solar powered lamp posts. These lamp posts run on individual solar panels and are independant of each other. If one gets broken or faulty it does not affect the others. This would not mean all street lamps would be shining brightly every night. As mentioned some would end up faulty over time, some would have globes blown (Perhaps another item that can be found and you could repair lamp posts) Add to this if you have a very cloudy and overcast day, your lamp posts will not be running that night (or very birghtly) I think it would be a nice addition.

+1 It is so bad it is leaking out and making the Chivalry Medieval Warfare Forums crash as well :(

Double post

Could happen :D Each street lamp has its own litle nuclear reactor then? I do get your point though. The system was bult before the outbreak? But in all seriousness how long has it been since the zombie outbreak? Months? Years? Genuine questions because I don't know if there is exact info on this? I am no expert but I would think some solar powered equipment would still be functional after a year or two. Something as simple as a solar powered light could alst for a while I am sure.

I thought it was a good idea:(

1.7.4.3 street lights, but what about 1.7.4.4
Hartraft replied to specterm's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Perhaps this country/town/suburb/city were trying out a new initiative of cleaner power and replaced all their street lights with solar power that are set to power up when an insufficient amount of light is detected. These new street lights are individual and not on a grid so if one is broken the next one down the line could still be operational. This would allow some with broken components or globes to not work while others to continue working. -
Actually I got the point. While I never agreed that the wingsuits would be a good idea, I wouldn't want them in there either. But you did say that someone would be too scared to use a wingsuit out of fear because they are a "normal" guy in an apocalypse. I think I would be more frightened of trying to fly a helicopter which actually is in game. So on the ridiculous factor I still maintain it isn't that ridiculous.
-
Compared to a normal guy in a zombie apocalypse who knows how to use every weapon, military gadget, explosive, vehicle as well as knowing how to repair everything, hunt and track and also how to fix yourself from any and every medical condition with all the medical supplies you find. it isn't THAT ridiculous.
-
Good idea, although Alcohol actually lowers your body temperature. Sure it makes you feel warm but that is because the blood is rushing to the outter part of your body and escaping, reducing the inner core temperature quicker than if you were not drinking alcohol.

Also if you are in Australia head on over to the ARMADERP forums http://www.armaderp.com/forums/ Have a great whitelisted server!

After a Friendly Aussie or World wide server with spawning gear and Friends
Hartraft replied to nankura's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Excellent, I'll have to check out a few of the servers. When I search in the server browser (Dayz COmmander) it only usually comes up with 3 or 4 aus servers. Are there more that have to be connected to manually? Also another Noob (Bambi?) question. What exactly does a whitelisted server mean? You need to be on a list otherwise you get kicked? -
Need Medical Assistance in the Mod? Find a medic here!

Perhaps there needs to be an Australian division? -

I'm also from Australia and also new to Dayz. Just have the very basics down. Not sure if I would want a server that gives gear to start with though. Could be good to meet people though. -
Hartraft being from Captain Hartraft or Captain Dennis Hartraft from the book Honoured Enemy by Raymond E Feist. One of the best books in the series I think and a great character. And an annoyance on my part is that for some reason everyone calls me Hartcraft....Theres no C in my name!!
