I seem to remember reading somewhere that Arma doesn't get on well with AMD chips, but I have an intel CPU (i7 2600 @ 3.4 GHz) which seems to work ok. But even if arma and AMD dont get on well you should be able to improve the look and feel of the game, you CPU seems to be perfectly capable. But to make it look better, like NonovUrbizniz says, it is your GPU that is limiting the look of the game for you. I have a Geforce GTX 560 Ti and I am happy with it tbh, the final choice for you though it what you feel more comfortable with, I had ATI before but I never felt completely happy with it so I thought I would try Nvidia this time. There is nothing wrong with adding a bit more memory, it might smooth the game out for you, If your CPU isnt maxing out you might want to think about saving your money for a SSD though, I can't speak from experience but from the tech they use, you may notice that you can get a good performance increase, without spending the money on a mega G card. (I.E stick with a 560 Ti or ATI equivalent and spend the extra money on a SSD instead.). I can run DayZ (and most games I have tried) on pretty much max settings with good frame rates I have no idea on actual numbers but I dont notice any drop in performance when I go into the big cities. Hope this helps, but tbh I am saying essentially what Nonov and PurePassion have said already, you got some good advice. Sorry, I'd like to help out, but my CPU is staying here :)

Well, considering that ArmaII is CPU heavy, after increasing the memory, like LunaTiK says, the extra memory should make things work better. and memory is cheap and it cant hurt. I would suggest that the best improvement you could make would be to improve the processor. I think you might notice more of an improvement if you could get an extra 1 GHz or went for a Intel® Core™ 2 Extreme or Core™ 2 Quad, if your budget could go that far as your pretty close to the minimum processor spec for ArmaII I dont think you would notice much of an increase in frame rate in DayZ until you upgraded the CPU though. Just smoother play probably Although the SSD may help transfer data quicker so you may notice an improvement even if you dont upgrade the CPU. (Thats just an opinion btw.) What graphics settings do you run DayZ at btw?

Hunting Knife and Cannibalism Ideas
HollyDayZ replied to ____ (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
beans for the pun intentional or not. I'll check it out, sorry for going off topic, trying to get back on topic..... It seems a better idea than some I have seen on the forums, how workable it would be I don't know. At least you put it in a less psychotic way than other posts I have read,. It could also have an effect on humanity, maybe it would drive you crazy if you cannabalise regularly and dont become infected. Not only would you have bandits, but lunatic cannibals running around the hills as well? That sounds like "fun".
