Yeah but it doesn't really make sense apart from a safety net or when people eventually fuck up and die. In game, why would this new guy (your respawn) know exactly where some dead dude hes never met has stashed a tent full of guns etc? A new spawn should be a new spawn, i.e, your needs should be to search for gear, not prance along to a tent that your toon should really have no awareness of and restock to end game levels. Characters should have a tent on spawn, that replaces one/some of the previous lifes tent. then, the tent you start with should be used as a log in/de-log point. As one wayof countering Dcing etc. Tents, a great example of when people don't harp on about realism

To be fair there is no need to run off into the forest to be safe, there is plenty of places in cherno where you could logout
-
I thought the factory was a hotspot as people camp on top of the buildings there, being the highest buildings gives a great view over all of cherno

No, I have continued taking damage and died many times while unconscious

I think it's fair to say this issue has been discussed to death (no pun intended) , we all know it happens and will continue to happen until Rocket implements a countermeasure many of which have been suggested. Best bet for now is just to accept it and continue addressing other issues which to be honest there is many of.

Just starved to death in Cherno

You have found more NVG's and 50 cals than matchboxes?? I'd be more than willing to trade you some! -

Is there a specific reason why someone who disconnects when under fire reconnects back to the same server? I have experienced this serveral times when shooting other players, surely if the disconnect was a means to avoid death why reconnect back to the same server while I could still potentially be there, why not goto a different sever entirely?

DayZ 1.7.1 Discussion - Others will be locked/deleted!
tiff_lee replied to Tigerr13's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It's not just you I have been having this in 1.7.1.5 as well, I have tried to report it TWICE in the bug forum but for whatever reason the moderators there won't allow the thread. The only way I can currently get an ALICE pack is to pick it of a dead survivors body. -
Yep getting this everytime as well very annoying. OP did your pack actually have enough slots free for your enfield? i've found if there isn't enough free slots when putting stuff into your pack rather than do the sensible thing and not let you it just deletes the item.

lol wtf am I reading? was the OP tripping when he typed that post out??

Just starved to death in Cherno

I think it all just depends who has been there before you, on one server I will find the supermarket and all surrounding buildings empty yet on another they may all be full, so not really an issue with less food being spawned but more like someone has looted before you. -

So what would be the outcome if you didn't take a piss/crap, soil yourself? then what, you need to hunt for new clothes otherwise you smell and attract more zombies? Have you really thought this through at all?

Where are people finding these off map cities? me and a friend of mine took a look off the NW edge and found nothing -
Ammo count isn't accurate after reconnect.
tiff_lee replied to green neo 1's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Before 1.7.1.4 I had this happen then with 1.7.1.4 it worked in the opposite way and the half used mags would then become empty upon logging back and now with .5 it is filling them again! However I do believe this issue is being tackled in 1.7.2 -
Items disappearing when placed in my backpack by another player
tiff_lee replied to Abbot's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Was your pack already full when the items were placed into it? if so it just deletes the items -
I have had this twice today with both an Ak74 and winchester, partially used mags disappearing upon logging out and logging back in.

At least put some thought into the title "Fucked patch" doesn;t give any clue at all to your problem, if you cba to put some effort in I doubt anyone will even bother reading. You still having problems or are you on 1.7.1.4 now? I found when joining a server which was running an older version I would find no zombies sound or anything similar to yourself.
-
All this incessant whining about how 'impossible' the game is yet it have more active players than ever? I'm not sure if some peoples expectations are too high or they just expect to find a silenced mp5 with loads of ammo in the first low yield building they come across.

Blimey people complain about the dark and having to go on US servers in the evening for daytime gameplay so an EU server switches the day/night cycle to accommodate Europeans in the evening and someone moans about it. Bit of a non issue, just change server if you want it dark plenty of them.

Recent Patch Negativity and SUGGESTIONS
tiff_lee replied to irbab00n's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Some people clearly don't like change and considering this is in Alpha it is going to be subject to alot of that. Everyone just has to grin and bear it, provide feedback and constructive criticism rather than throw the toys out the pram saying this game is crap/I wasted $30 etc -
People need to give this a chance, personally I think it's better. Before the odds were against you even making it off the beach before another newly spawned player shot you in the back for nothing other than your beans.

Are all you guys still getting the same problem after the hotfix 1.7.1.1? seriously keep trying different servers UK/US whatever works for myself and a friend who have completely different spec pc/laptop
-
Very fast rollout of hotfix, kudos. If you had a wife I dare say it won't be for much longer thanks to your affair with DayZ.
