    [SA] Anyone find bandages yet?

I found a standalone bandage in one of the SE buildings at Balota.

    My kill count?

I keep a tally carved in my arm.
  3. Thankfully, Rocket is more concerned with making a game he can be proud of than catching proverbial boats. Besides, if the standalone was just a slightly improved version of the mod, why would anyone who had lost interest in it pay money for it? I know I wouldn't.
  4. DayZ should team up with some smaller food and beverage companies. Give them some needed publicity. PepsiCo seems to be doing just fine without video games offering them free advertising.
  5. If you climb to the top, you should be able to put up lasers that protect you from the bad people.

    What clothing will YOU wear???

    Nothing to see here...
  7. Como = Cómo = How (as in Cómo estás?) And kataflaco, here's a thread with possible solutions - http://dayzmod.com/f...r-host-says-no/
  8. Yes and Yes. Who wants to be the co-anchor of my morning show? I'll bring the mugs.
  9. My butt feels just fine, thank you very much. And his points aren't 100% valid because in real life my only option for seeing what's on the other side of a wall isn't to stick my entire head and half of my upper body out. I could jump. I could climb and hide in a tree. I could use a mirror. I could find a hole in the wall. I could throw something and see if it gets shot at. In real life I can do more than stand, crouch, go prone, and lean. A wall should be a huge advantage, not something that funnels me into a sniper's scope. The end result is that in real life, I could find a way to see what's on the other side of the wall without pressing E to stick my head out and die. Sure, it's a quick and dirty solution, but 3rd-person gets me to where I'd be in real life. First-person does not. If they give you lifelike control over your body, then yeah, get rid of third-person, but until then, stop being a slave to game mechanics and technological limitations. That doesn't mean you're playing a more realistic simulation. That doesn't make you hardcore. That makes you a cotton-headed ninnymuggins.
  10. I'm so hardcore that I only allow my character to run and sprint for short distances before slowing down. If you don't also play this way then you're a scrubdummy and I hate you. I gave up jumping in real-life because you can't in DayZ, which is more realistic than reality, so obviously jumping is some kind of exploit for n00bs.
  11. My best fights and most intense moments were with my fourth wife, but going third-person would have probably spiced things up even more.
  12. - A reworking of the communication system. For example, there could be 5 types: Whisper - only one targeted player within 10 meters can read/hear Talk - Anyone within 50 meters can read/hear Shout - Anyone within 500 meters can read/hear Scream - All that shows up is "Ahhh" but anyone within 1000 meters can read/hear. Walkie-Talkie - This is an item that must be found. Has a maximum range (~5 KM) unless the sender is at a high enough elevation, then anyone on the same frequency anywhere on the map can hear. - A reworking of the inventory system. Inventory should be based partially on inventory space (bags) and on total weight. Let's say your bag is full and you happen to find 2 jerrycans and rope. You would be able to attach the jerrycans to yourself at the expense of weighing a little more, which would slow your movement speed. You can keep tying on more stuff, but eventually you'll move at a snail's pace. It'd also be great if this were visible, so you'll eventually look like a giant walking garage sale. This gives you a very important decision - if you want to carry around several nice guns, you can, but everyone who sees you will notice that you have several nice guns that maybe they want to kill you for. And you'll probably move a little bit slower with these nice guns, so you're more vulnerable (and you can't hide a nice rifle in a backpack). - Tracking It could be something simple - depending on shoe type and how you're moving, a certain number of footprints are left. If you're walking in sneakers, nothing shows up. If you're jogging, maybe 1 out of 10 steps leave a print, and if you're running, then half of your steps leaves a print. Once a player has discovered a certain number of footprints, they can figure out if they are fresh (left within the last 10 minutes) or old. Moving through bushes should cause leaves to drop on the ground surrounding it.

    DayZ needs more guns

DayZ needs more weapons that aren't guns.
