one thing that bugs me about pvp whiners..
Mitunzz replied to Rifle Eyez's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
PvP is inevitable in DayZ, it's a great but overused mechanic. I'm personally against actions related to kill on site bandits and more towards honourable bandits who will rob a victim and move on. But the thing with this game is it's open world, you have the freedom to do whatever you would like to do, debating against the problem will literally solve nothing. Yeah... it would be nice if players started playing different styles instead of just killing on site to remove a threat so to say, however this is a video game and people play it how they want to play it. This game doesn't enoforce role-playing real-life situations, it enforces the freedom to do whatever is desired. -
It'd be an issue fixing the vehicle engine, even if they use ArmA III's engine for the moment I'd be happy.
-
That is the ArmA II engine, not the mod, the engine is a few years old now and didn't implement proper vehicle mechanics. As far as I know the ArmA III has improved the vehicle mechanics, and I'm guessing standalone will improve it in a similar manner. However, the vehicle collisions mechanics, like visual damage, does not appear to be under maintenance so you'd be asking for a lot to improve that. But in saying all of this, I would love to see the mechanics to vehicle collisions to be improved. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hahaha, pretty much.

Bought Arma 2 to play dayz but my key is banned?
Mitunzz replied to gowxnocrack's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Globally banned CD-keys tend to stay banned for a good reason. You may have malicious software on your computer, or you purchased it from a faulty seller. -
Join Balota Buddies (http://www.balotabuddies.net/) it's a great community with a tonne of Australian players that is also globally inviting players, and it's hacker free. Hope to see you there :)

Nice videos guys, good luck with the future.

I like finding my tents, the humanity system already works like your suggestion and besides, the humanity system is being scrapped in standalone. The tree suggestion isn't really that great of an idea, and it seems to be difficult to implement into the mod and standalone, there doesn't seem to be a need for bases in trees when we will be able to have bases underground. Also your fire arrows suggestion on top of the burning trees suggestion makes me feel like you're a pyromaniac...
-
Swimming under water seems pointless in standalone, unless you want to go fishing for food or something, or maybe underwater bases... Fishiesss! :D
-
Well said, some people are just too ignorant :/ Yes Standalone is taking bits and pieces from other engines like the ArmA engine, but no it's not going to be exactly like an ArmA III DayZ mod.
-
It's not a bug, it's a random occurance... just a way of balancing player vs zombie mechanics. How do you think zombies feel when you shoot them with a DMR? It happens and you just have to live with it.
-
This is the main reason I'm looking forward to the new inventory system and magazine mechanics.
-
Yes please!

Bandit! ... I'm a hypocrite :(

You can only repair vehicles, not build them from scratch, they can be found at various locations throughout the map, mainly based around areas with buildings. There is a website called DayZ DB (DayZ Database) which gives you default spawn positions of vehicles, however this can be modified on private hive servers, so the spawn points may vary. If you find a vehicle you will need to assess the current damage, each broken part will need different items. First you will need to find a tool box to begin repairing, if the engine is broken you will need to find engine parts to repair it, fuel tank parts to repair fuel, glass to repair glass, scrap metal to repair the body and a wheel to repair the wheels on the vehicle. You can find all the parts required for fixing a vehicle in industrial buildings (if you're unsure of what buildings are industrial use DayZ DB). Helicopters also spawn in DayZ, as they're freshly spawned they will need every part repaired or the fuel will leak out. In every vehicle (except bicycles) you will need a jerry can full of fuel to put it in the vehicle, if you find a jerry can and don't know where to refuel it, use DayZ DB once again to find the closest refuel spots. I hope I helped.
