    Re-work the map? + more

Yes! Exactly what he said! Make everything better! Do something! You must! Now! I mean: a) No. B) Never. c) Can't. d) Next year. e) All of the above. There's an answer to all of these in the forums. You'll just have to do more reading before posting. If you're too lazy I'm sure you'll find a volunteer to sum it up for you. :)

Dayz makes my missions not work.

It's a dayz feature. Some anti-cheat I believe. No way around it at the moment. Dayz will totally break vanilla game. Even on previous patches while the other missions "worked", the mod still screwed them up. Generally it's not recommended to enable any mod that isn't reported to work with mission in question.

    Playing Armory.

I not saying it's about the money but about the player base of DayZ vs. vanilla. Dayz is trying its best to keep people from straying over to vanilla game. More alpha testers, more people likely to buy stand alone. It's just sad that this way most people will never try out the base game and ultimately contribute to keeping arma2 alive and making arma3 better. It's still early, let's just see how this plays out.

    Playing Armory.

This is actually quite interesting feature. While it probably serves as a cheat protection solution, it generally disables the main game. Which isn't a big deal in most games. But I'm sure that 98 percent of the current players don't know the dirrefence between Arma and Dayz. And because they have the mod enabled at all times, they will never stumble upon the great vanilla game. Is DayZ sweeping Arma under the rug as potential competition and paving it's way to standalone game? Am I paranoid?

    Movement bug/error

Use might be accidentally hitting some global keyboard shortcut. Or tapping shift too many times in a row? Or you're pushing too many keys at once. There's a limit to that. Try pressing same keys as much as possible in windows (not in-game) and see/listen what happens. Doesn't sound like your problem has anything to do with arma/dayz.

    Playing Armory.

It's has nothing to do with arma updates. DayZ mod changes/removes all classes or such which it doesn't need. Makes the hacking more difficult they say. And breaks the vanilla game. Just disable the mod to use it. And yes, you could make your own scenarios with DayZ content but it's not cool to distribute them without giving full credit to DayZ. DayZ doesn't have any EULA by the way?

PSA: Do not wear alternative clothing in 1.7.2.0!

I've read some conflicting info about this. So will my inventory be wiped if I was wearing camo before the batch and would now log in? Or just if I switch to camo/ghillie now? Should I wait for a fix just to be sure?

Zooming in on foliage = bad FPS

This is called "normal performance". Zoomed in you'll have a lot of objects on the screen so fps will drop. Try lowering every graphic setting one by one while watching your fps. Some setting might give you better performance, or not. Especially AA, terrain/object detail or post processing might do the trick. But there will always be small fps drop when zooming through foliage.

    Grass is broken.

It's not a error, it's a feature. Grass layer was added in some early updates to arma2. But I think that the layer is too smooth so prone player is still too visible against it. Or maybe it's just my graphic settings? No grass at all is just terrible, I hate the servers that disable it.

Welcome to Alpha! A message to the community.

At least there's a big red "alpha" banner on the mod's front page now. I'm not saying it wasn't quite obvious from the beginning, 'cause it was. But you all who realize you're testing an alpha mod to a actual commercial game and accept its shortcomings, you'll have to also accept the fact there are a lot of stupid and/or ignorant people around. They just saw some cool youtube video and article about the mod and read in the instructions that they'd first have to buy (with money) this thing called ArmaII and then download (with a free mouse click) the DayZ. Now a bug ate their NVG and broke their leg, so they throw a shitfit. They'll come to forums and wave their arma receipt around demanding a compensation. "It's alpha! It's Arma! A test! For free! A mod! Play Arma in vanilla if you want something working [sic]!", you say but they won't have none of it. There's just no room for reason with these jerks. Accept it. And Mephistos comment "you don't want to turn off potential players by pointing out it's alpha before they play (because having a large player base "sends a message to the studios")" is plain wrong. There were absolutely no expectation of large player base two months ago when the mod started. It's was just another arma alpha mod with potential of few hundred regular arma players. It's just went viral. Ignore the pointless whining, they're still just a very small portion of the player base, just the most vocal one.

    Walkie Talkies.

Walkie-talkies would be great! Maybe just an item you carry and set a channel/password with gear menu action. A simple GUI would be needed since there's no native user input text system in arma, i think. If you select the same channel as someone else, you'll be moved to same group as him. Then the group chat would be available. It's not even disabled now because there are no groups. Drop the radio and you'll be removed from group and back to individual using only direct chat. Atleast sounds simple and foolproof to do. Right?

    What are this orange dots?

Like the image says: it's a man. It's orange because you haven't recognized it yet as a friend nor enemy. Red dot would be an identified enemy. There's a slightly faded dot right next to it, which means you've seen someone there earlier but not right now. It's a standard arma feature on lower difficulty settings. Everybody should familiarize themselves with vanilla arma a bit before playing dayz. Everything would be much easier then.

    What do i need?

You bought the real version, not the Arma free, so no low textures. Free = low textures. But dayz will work with free + OA, not easily but it will work. I recommend you buy combined straight from the developer : https://store.bistudio.com/arma2-combined-operations Unless you love steam.
