Whenever I try to join a server, it says wait for host for a few seconds like its going to join, then sends me back to the server list sometimes main menu without an error message, this happens no matter what server i try to join regular/hardcore. I have uninstalled and reinstalled countless times, I have deleted my character files, deleted all files, verified my game cache, made sure my firewall allowed dayz, the whole 9 yards, and I still cant join any server at all. I wasn't doing anything special in game when i last logged out, just looting an empty town. I understand the game is in early development and that these things happen, but nonetheless, any help would be appreciated.

Well fortunately enough I managed to figure out how to fix it myself, but I will post how I did so for any of those having the same issue. I fixed the issue by going to C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\DayZ (some of these folders will be hidden and can be accessed by selecting show hidden files and folders in the layout tab under organize) and deleting the MPmissioncache folder, this can be done while in game, because as soon as you join any server, the folder is replaced and I was able to join once again. I hope this helps anybody having the same issue as I was. Because this was extremely frustrating.

Not trying to be rude, but that is not what bandits are, those are KOS'ers. The people who kill you only because they wish to avoid confrontation in which they could be killed. Those are raiders if you can even call them that. Old fashioned DayZ banditry is actually extremely difficult as well. That requires highway robbery and trying to actually blindsight people. Thats what I do. And I usually don't have to kill people. Plus I believe it not only makes the game more enjoyable for me and the victim, as frankly it gets the adrenaline rushing. But I also believe that bandits are a needed entity in DayZ. Plus, being a bandit is just plain fun.

Why bandits are needed in dayz...
Rodom87 replied to _Anubis_ (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I agree with rossums, most people are survivors, and most survivors shoot on sight. Actual BANDITS are the roleplay highway robbery types. People can refer to themselves as bandits by saying they kos often, but that makes them more in the raider category of the roleplay type. -

Skilled Vs Unskilled bandits
Rodom87 replied to stonewall1350's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
What people fail to understand is that there is a difference between bandits, and raiders. Bandits will rob you, and will try to leave you alive but undersupplied. They are the ones that have my respect. Raiders are the ones who will shoot you and loot you. Personally I believe that it is a matter of choice, so i wil not go around and complain about it. It is a game, players have the choice to kill or rob, and they are allowed to do what they want, as long as they are not hacking or cheating. But what I and OP are trying to say is that the game is much more fun if you are robbed because DayZ is all about learning to adapt to new situations. And If you leave somebody on the verge of death, it can be extremely rewarding for you and the player especially if he/she is able to learn from the situation. -
Im going to guess you play COD... Its not a round based quick kill game. It takes skill and patience. And if somebody wants to spend hours waiting for that one good kill, thats fine by me.

Why would you guys set up a clan to take out the bandits, we are the ones who bring order into the apocalypse. A friendly with a big gun is comically ironic. Join our clan and grow strong the right way in return www.chernarusretribution.com
