I so wish I would've been streaming and producing youtube videos. Then maybe I would've been a little closer to being able to be one of the closed beta testers. Oh how I would love to be able to be involved in it. Always thought it would be great to do alpha, and beta testing of games. Was a dream of mine for many years, but alas I doubt it will ever happen. Anyway yeah I'm so looking forward to the public release. I've been busting my butt to get my new pc built for the release of the standalone.

I know I'll probably be flamed for this but, I just love how so many people are giving Rocket such a hard time. It's clear that he wanted to have the standalone out before the end of the year. He wanted to give us updates about where the development process was, but things change. I'm sure there were a lot of unforeseen variables that have caused the development to slow down, and not meet the deadline Rocket set for themselves. Which I can understand is probably causing a large amount of stress. Yes he hasn't updated the community as much as he stated he would, but is it really needed. Does there really have to be an explanation of what is, and isn't done. Imho people expect way too much from people. I can see where someone would be disappointed about it not coming out before the end of the month. I can also see people's point that they are disappointed with the lack of game updates. But I don't understand where anyone has the right to be upset with Rocket to the point of acting like he's a horrible person because of it. I've only been part of the community for a month or so, but I've read as much as I can as well as watch youtube videos and streams. So I'm very eager to see, and play the standalone. But I myself don't believe Rocket owes me, or anyone else an explanation for his actions that he's taken. So I'm in agreement with someone in a previous post. The mod is still able to be played. So keep playing that til more info is released, and or the standalone is released.

Who knows what is happening. Only Rocket, and the rest of the dev team have any answers. Everyone can have many different ideas of what is actually taking place. It could quite possibly be that he is wanting to take some time to visit his family. For the fact that he knows when the standalone is released that they will have their hands full with fixing loads of bugs that the community will be finding. But again this is just a guess. I'm in the same boat as everyone else in that I am very anxious for some kind of update. The thing is Rocket will only let us know anything when he feels like he is ready to. Blah ok well that's about enough banter from me. Just eager to find out something that is happening with the standalone like everyone else.

I personally like playing alpha builds of games. Imho I think when you allow the community help with finding bugs, and glitches it helps bring the community closer together. It also helps the game go in the direction that the community wants it to be in a way. Again this is just my opinion.

Like Axon said with an MC development type cycle there will be issues even though the dev team is doing their best. Finding and fixing everything they can to have a good launch for the standalone. This is where the community needs to come together. We have to inform the dev team of any bugs that we will find. By doing this we will help this game be as great as we know it can be.

My only issue is I'll be building a new pc very soon, and I'm wanting to play this. I'm hoping there will be some info released soon as to the possibility of the SA being released this month still or being pushed back. I wouldn't mind buying Arma 2 just for that game, but I don't know if I want to get it right away if the DayZ SA is going to be released soon. Sorry just a bit of a rant.
