Radio station music in standalone?

So have they said how this will be implemented yet? will the radio stations be from a set choice chosen by the devs or will the player be able to use any internet radio station ingame? -

No thanks this would waste too much developement effort to implement something that would have very little effect on gameplay (Maybe for an ww1 FPS that would see common gas attacks this would be a good feature but an open world zombie game? i dont think so) not to mention how would you have the mask distrupt view to keep the game realistic and ballenced? how would you prevent people from spamming tear gas from grenade launchers 24/7? if the answer to the last question is to make tear gas extreamly rare/uncommon to find surely this goes back to my first point on wasting dev time on something that will only see little use. Btw sorry if this post sounds overly negative, just explaining my personal opinion on the matter.

Whats everyone's take on doing this? do you consider it cheating or is it acceptable? I only ask because Ive noticed allot of people doing this lately especially a few big YouTubers that I shall not name in fear of starting another flame war. -

Well how else are they supposed to implement it? sleeping for 9 hours in a multiplayer game wouldn't exactly be feasible or add anything to gameplay for that matter.

Seems like a bit of an overreaction to me, Ive seen what one or two posts complaining about the patch? hardly something to make a thread about... -
Well im just going from what the devs have said in there latest Q and A session personally im not holding out much hope for mod tools sadly, as for developing mods before the game is even released its been done before most recently by an FPS developer by the name of Tripwire (Devs of the Killing floor/ Red Orchestra games) which gave modders early access to the SDK and modding tools a full 6 months before the RO2 beta even came out.

From what i understand the devs are closing the code to all modifications (Aka similar to what EA what have done with BF3), i really hope they reconsider i came to Arma/dayz from the likes of Red Orchestra and unreal tournament two games which benefited hugely from the addition of mods which they actively support (Most of the playerbase nowadays in these two games exclusively brought the games for the mods involved). -
Sad to see the SA wont support modding, I was hoping the devs would even supply mod tools if anything considering there roots it would have been cool to see what people could come up with using the new engine ect.

Turn off your computer open the case and note down what motherboard and PSU you have (they should be marked), then check if it is compatible with the GPU you are planning to buy. -

Not many people can due to Arma being horribly optimized (especially with higher tier cards), hopefully the SA and Arma 3 will be a bit better in this regard.

Why the hell you would replace a 560ti with two 260's i will never know, a single 560ti is capable of running most modern games on ultra quite easily depending on the rest of your rig, if you are getting poor performance with it atm its probably due to your CPU bottlenecking your system.

If it does happen maybe they will release it around the same time of the new steam console, its a long way off but it would make sense considering the mod has already proven to be a big money maker with steam. -

The playerbase might have fallen a bit after the majority of the mainstream gamers moved on (partly due to hackers, partly due to boredom i guess) but we still have a pretty solid few thousand people on each night i doubt this mod will "die" anytime soon considering this is probably still the most populated online mod out there atm. -
What weapons or vehicles would you like to see in the standalone?

I would like to see the Lee Enfield come back but with an actual bolting and reloading animation -
Personally i wold like a mix between Fallout and metro 2033 when it comes to looting, AKA you can search cupboards and gun cases Fallout style, but when it comes to looting a dead body in a dangerous situation you can quickly pick up the weapon and ammo on the body like you can in Metro 2033 (but the ability for a longer loot search is still available by using a different key)

As long as we get a better gun/player animations and working zombies i will be happy, imo things like base building ect shouldn't even be considered until the core gameplay is perfected/smoothed out. -

I doubt a December or January release is likely, realistically i reckon we will see some new media around February and the alpha release somewhere around April. -
DayZ standalone version release date?

They have not said the full game will be released this year and i will be very surprised if it did (Building DayZ on a whole new game engine will take time), what they did say is that an alpha version of the game is targeted at late December if a December release is accurate is anyone's guess as all we have seen so far is a few room interior screenshots. -
the same could be said for the US weapons but as of now we have no plot so neither of us can speak, IMO take out the thermal sight L85 but replace it with another L85 variant problem solved.
