In the mod, you could change your FOV on the fly by pressing - and + on the numpad. If you double tapped either of em, it would lock the setting, maybe that's an option to try, if you haven't already. BTW, that kinda looks like the zoom-view when holding RMB (Right Mouse Button). Did you try holding and then releasing RMB?

Graphic setting won't do much, because the core engine of dayz, the arma 2 engine, relies very heavy on CPU instead up GPU. You have a very good CPU, but because the game isn't optimized for multiple cores, it won't benefit from it. In DayZ higher core clock helps more than more cores. EDIT: If you want to increase the fps, there is not alot you can do, but you can try to avoid servers with very high vehicle count, like 500+. And maybe you can move you @DayZ folder to a faster hard drive, if you have one. That gave me 15-20% increase. Hopes this awnsers your question.

Hi all. Like the title says, i'm looking for a good server host/provider, with decent performance. Currently my clan have a server with epoch chernarus, and we constantly have stuff disappearing after a few dayz. The server we have now is from G-factory in Germany, but we need something a lot more stable. If some of you would share you experience with good a provider, we'd be very thankful! I don't think you'll get that high fps. My system is stronger, but my FPS drops massively in cities. In wilderniss i can get about 40-50, but in cities, particularly on servers with a lot of extras, it goes down to 15.

Hi guys. For about a few weeks now, i have a very irritating sort of bug, that regularly some hi-res textures load extreme late. When i'm walking to a bush, it won't show the full res bush, until i'm 4-5 m away from it. My GPU drivers are updated, i don't know what else to do. Fixed it guys! Moved all my DayZ folders to my other HDD, wich is alot faster. Appearantly my normal HDD couldn't keep up. Cheers!

Glad to see you didn't implement excessive extra building, and good thing you cleared the roads! It can increase FPS a lot. Gonna try it out later tonight, looks good so far!

I voted more vehicles then normal, but what i REALLY wanted to see is a server that has very good performance. Like even when on a full server, in elektro, my frames don't go below 25. And these are around, but very rare.

AMD Phenom II X4 850 3.2Ghz Radeon HD6870 1GB 8GB RAM 1333 Mhz Seagate 500GB HDD WesternD 1TB HDD (for recording) Is my CPU a bottleneck here, I read on other forums, it's not very good. Will upgrading to a X6 1090T be better, or will the 2 extra Cores make no difference? I can't upgrade to AM3+, cause 'd have to by a new MB aswell, and i'm hoping to avoid that.

Trying it out now, feedback will follow! ;) EDIT: Server seems good so far. Though my ping is between 90-100, no lag at all! :thumbsup: Descent FPS too, but i was the only one on, so i'll have to try again with some more players. Vehicle scattering is good. Found only 1 hilux that was beat-up, searched elektro and berenzino, no luck. Spawn with only one bandage is fine with me, keeps your guard up, but when i checked the hospital at Berenzino, only one bandage and 2 morphine, is that normal? It's in my favourites in DayZcommander now, certainly gonna play again here! Oh, just one last thing. The bandit and hero base, are we supposed to find top loot there? cause i didn't find anything but aspirines...

don't put setting to low, it'll take the load away from the GPU to the CPU, and that won't handle it. Set video memory to default in arma video options, not high or very high, but default. Turn AA off, and HDR quality low. that helped me for about 10fps increase. For the rest, dayz is just badly optimized, not much to do further about it...

Hi guys, sorry for posting another FPS issue/question, but i'm outta ideas. In DayZ vanilla i get 40-50 FPS in nature, it drops to about 25 in cities, below 20 if the server is crowded. However, in Breaking point, my fps doens't even get to 20, no matter where i am. I figured it has to do with all the stuff they added in there. Same for Taviana when i enter Sabina, i can't get up to 20. All of my setting in Arma2 are on high, Memory on default, and AA off. I've put my specs down below, can anyone tell me what my bottleneck is? Is it GPU or CPU related? Maybe make it so it lowers automatically after you start running, but only running, not walking. Like when you climbed a ladder, you weapon is auto lowered (don't know if this is supposed to or not). So when you stop running, you weapon is lowered by default, and you can raise by pressing the 'Fire' button. (left mouse) Advantage is you don't need an extra key bind. And just keep the option of the manual lowering by double tapping ctrl.

I think they got the expectations to high when rooting for a x-mas 2012 release of the alpha. I'm not dissapointed about the game being released no earlier then June, i'll wait however long it will take, but i'm a bit bummed about the fact they said they tried for a 2012 release, when that date was a bit unrealistic, given the current release date.
