I think it is how many individual instances of ArmA2/DayZ have linked to the mod so far. This isn't the same as characters, as people can just change their name whenever they feel like it (character), whereas each the Unique Players refers to actual players who might have a number of different characters. I think this is what it refers to anyway.

Sorry, changed misspelling in the title - was annoying me :P Thanks for posting such a detailed thread on the topic. If anyone else suffers this issue and your experiences aren't covered by what has already been posted above, please share it here. Want to move it to the 'Bug Reports' but some of those images are just too cool, haha.

Does it give you any error messages down the bottom left hand side of your screen (where you'd normally find dialogue and chat, etc.)? EDIT: Can you also edit your post to follow the Bug Report format stickied in the Bug Reports section? This helps the team to diagnose what might be going on. Cheers.

Check the map (will have to zoom in relatively close) over towns; the small fountain symbol represents water fountains though I have found that not ALL of these are accessible.

Happy Birthday and thanks for the update! Some constructive feedback (from a general consensus) - ANZ servers are really having a hard time; a lot of desync and crashing after the update. Were pretty stable beforehand so not sure what's happening. Admins may be looking into it though, but just a heads up. Zombie numbers are awesome!! Makes you really try to avoid them now and use different tactics. I have had a couple spawn right next to me though, and so have my mates. Panic sound... Hahaha. Well the recording and sound effect is cool, but just way too annoying. All the guys I'm playing with dislike the whole panic feature. Seems like more features that could cause bugs - I would have left it out but that's just my opinion. Happens too frequently for starters, and is just annoying in general - hard to hear each other speak. I can understand it's trying to promote realistic reactions, but given the atmosphere of the game, we have pretty panicked reactions via voice comms anyway, so I don't think we need a panic feature. Otherwise, pretty solid patch. New zombie sounds and faces are wicked.

It's a server-side option, not a cheat. We had this issue on the ANZ1 server and quickly got in touch with the admin to disable. No dramas, just required a server restart.

Is there a way to continue launching the game through Steam's Combined Ops launch method? I.e. use the launch options menu to set parameters to make it launch in beta similar to how Steam users use DayZ; -mod=@dayz'? I want to launch the game through Steam so I can use the Steam overlay, instead of launching from the batch file for the beta, or a shortcut to said file. If this method is possible, will it mean I can switch between standard and beta versions using Steam's launch options, similar to how I can activate/deactivate DayZ by putting in or removing the launch option parameters? Cheers, haven't used beta patches for ArmA before.

How do these Beta patches work with Steam? Alternatively, considering how much of the ArmA 2 playerbase are DayZ players, why didn't BiS just make this an official release so Steam can automatically update everyone's client? After all, this issue only really affected DayZ players.

Here's the boys with the chopper (obviously I'm behind the picture so you can't see me). All got some decent weapons and gear - great team. Lost the chopper and a UAZ we had when server restarted though. Still great while it lasted.

Are we meant to see ourselves on the map now? Also I can see a mate next to me on the map too (but noone else). Seems sort of cool but I'm worried that PK'ers will see you on the map and hunt you, as well as people who can't read maps get their hand held now, haha.

For starters, I think given the popularity of the game, making it standalone is an excellent idea that will reward you in particular as developers of such an awesome mod/game! Personally; keep it in-house studio developed and either - A) Purchase and monthly fee if kickstarter is NOT used (unless the servers became affordable), or B) Purchase only, if kickstarter IS used. Preferably no monthly fee at all, but given server costs this might actually be the better and fairer way to go. The game would have to be MUCH more polished and full of content and more original technical aspects however, before people would be happy to pay a monthly fee (but I know it's only Alpha and you guys are working on this stuff). Keep it up!

Yup, getting this issue too. Using SHIFT+MINUS, then typing 'flush' works briefly (flushes the graphics memory), but then the issue comes back. Here's what it looks like (on glitch anyway). -

Yup, get rid of them. People will shoot on site regardless of whether you are in a bandit uniform or not, if their intention was to do so anyway. Also, it sounds like you could do without the headaches of trying to get it working properly, so it should help free up some time for a coffee or more important tasks to complete :P Maybe this can help with Direct Comms too (something to do with groups and changing character models? I don't know, could be plausible). Also, can't access the voting page like a few others here have said.
