I refuse to use this exploit because I enjoy the atmosphere of the mod, and quite frankly this ruins it. I think it does provide an advantage that shouldn't be there but I'm unaware of any plans to change this (as mentioned, gamma can still be boosted on a drivers level so it may not fix the exploit even if it is disabled). Really, people are only cheating themselves and thus depriving themselves of the great experience that this mod has to offer. Cheers.

Can you please add your system specs for bug report format sake? Seems interesting that the admins of the server reported that they couldn't get their gear back either, so worth having this thread alive. Cheers.
-
As above, login again and update this thread if necessary. If the issue is resolved, let me know and I can close the thread. Cheers.

I approved this because it seems like a bug that people need to be aware of. However, if you could update your OP with your system specs as well I'd appreciate it a lot. It may not seem important, but a lot of calculation is done client side, so the more information the better. Cheers.

The reason this hasn't been approved in the bug report thread is probably because it doesn't follow the report format in the sticky of the bug reports section. You need to add more detail to the report. If you can edit this post with the appropriate details, I will move this to the bug section. Cheers.

Thank you for bringing this to peoples attention. I was personally unaware of this (as my native language is English). I will move this to the suggestions section as I think it deserves a look. Cheers.

Why does hardly anyone go north??
jordnz replied to liam.a.underwood@gmail.com's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Myself and the rest of my usual group pretty much stick north unless we are doing loot runs with the chopper and need to go to a hospital for example. As has been mentioned, it's much safer inland (in general, bar obviously Stary and the airfields), and many people will not publicly tell the server their location like that of the newer players around the coast. Cherno and Elektro are just killing grounds, and many people find that fun so they stick to the coast hunting new prey :p -
How do you Pronounce the name?

***PLEASE READ BEFORE STARTING THREAD***
jordnz replied to Adam (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Guys, we can't stress this strict formatting enough. It makes it much easier for the devs to read through the bug reports and get the information they need to diagnose the problems. Being an Alpha, I'm sure you're all aware that there may be many bugs that the devs are currently ironing out, which in term means a LOT of bug reports coming in. We can't approve the reports unless they are adhering to the format in the above post, so if you don't see your report go up this is probably the case (Also, try using the search function first just to make sure that you aren't posting a report that has already been posted. It's much more productive to post in an already approved report with the information required from above and your report will probably get a lot more attention this way as people will already be discussing the bug). We're sorry if your report doesn't go up for this reason, but it's very important that you adhere to the format. Thank you for your cooperation. -
@dayz mod recognized, still shows Project Reality servers.
jordnz replied to viice's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
If PR works as normal mods, then it shouldn't permanently affect the server browser. What may have happened is your filters were changed. Go to the filters option in the multiplayer menu (server list) and reset them too default. Then if you want, just filter mission by 'DayZ'. Hope this works. -
As mentioned, I think it is only the PMC stuff that is being used as of this moment. Though if you ever want to play vanilla ArmA 2 OA or future-proof in case DayZ decides to use them, betting the BAF DLC is a good investment.

so where can i rent and admin a server??
jordnz replied to hooligan (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Moved to the Servers - General section. Hopefully you get more/other useful answers from others that also know a thing or two on the subject. Cheers. -

Seems so at the moment. Hopefully/probably just temporary.

Hahahaha, that's pretty clever. Even if it is a bit of an exploit. Sorry to hear it happen to you though :P

Spawn on coast glitch with existing character.
jordnz replied to KilltheInfected's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Thanks KilltheInfected, appreciate it. Moved to Bug Reports. Anyone else who can post more information as per bug report format, please do. The more information the devs have, the easier it is to diagnose the bug. Cheers. -
Although I think this bug might be related to the ArmA 2 engine as a whole and not just DayZ, I've approved for Bug Report anyway, just incase. Cheers.

1.5.6 Barbed wire kits - Graphical Bug
jordnz replied to capitol's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
This does seem to be a problem related to wire kits (ones that are lootable, not setup), however v1.5.6 had fixes for some cases of this, so it's still good to let the devs know that the problem still persists with many of you. -
Spawn on coast glitch with existing character.
jordnz replied to KilltheInfected's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Ok, think this might be good in the Bug Report section. If you guys can edit your posts using the correct bug report format (mainly the OP) found here; http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=2 I will move it into bugs to give the devs a heads up. Cheers all. -
Moved to 'Suggestions' section. Cheers.

Great work - should help a lot of people.

Zombie Squirrel explained it much better, haha. Cheers mate.

Spawn on coast glitch with existing character.
jordnz replied to KilltheInfected's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Anyone else experiencing coastal spawns after the new update, post here to let the team know. It might be a minor bug or something to do with the server spawning, nevertheless if it's common and has potential to persist across future updates, it's definitely worth noting. If there is enough response I will move this to the 'Bug Reports' section. I didn't personally experience this so won't jump to conclusions as of yet. Cheers. -
Moved to 'Troubleshooting'. If you bought CO through Steam, you may need to run ArmA 2 first, before installing and/or running ArmA 2 OA (to create the right registry entries). At least this is the official fix from a while ago. Not sure if it still applies now as BiS released a Steam update that took care of some of the CO launch stuff.
