Balance Since when has DayZ been about balance? This is, as I understand it, trying to be a Zombie Apocalypse Simulation, and in the real world there is no balance. Let me name a few things that make the game unbalanced: 1. We start with nothing, anyone who has been alive long enough to get gear has the advantage over us. 2. Wire fences are overflowing in spawns, tool kits are rare. 3. All the best gear spawns in ONE SINGLE SPOT (By which I mean night vision, big sniper weapons, etc at NWAF) Now these are just what I can think of with the few seconds I have right now. Also you have just added Bear Traps to the game. Don't remove a weapon for being "OP" and then add something that YOU KNOW people are going to put at any given rare loot spawn to aid in their camping of it. Think about your current goal for this project rocket, Do you remember what you said it was in the various interviews you have had? "I want to make it a more group focused experience, where people HAVE to work together to survive" How does removing a spotters tool do that? Or adding in a new toy for a camper reward teamplay? I hope you regain your focus soon.

Methinks you do not understand people who actually roleplay a game like this. Let me translate for you. He wants to help new players learn how to play, because the rest of the game has become boring to him. I find this whole argument rather silly, and both sides are not using their most potent points. For Non-Hive Servers: Rocket has 200,000 testers right now, I'm sure 150 people playing on "Dream Servers" as I call them do not hurt the testing aspects in the long run. The people running these servers have also paid money out of their pocket to create a server, that server and what they do with it is their decision. Against Non-Hive servers: It does cause people to feel entitled to their playstyle or become dependent on a server where they know X or Y will happen. Saying that they are standing in the way of the project is not a legitimate claim. because rocket never anticipated the kind of player base this mod has. Every society has its deviants. But these people do not stand in the way of progress as they have simply deviated from the current development phase and made it into something else where they are content. thats 150 less players out of hundreds of thousands. It should not bother you and it does not bother me.

This respawning "hack" is caused by someone joining a different version of DayZ server than what they have installed. It is extremely easy to do even on accident.

My god... The fix for this issue is extremely simple.... Kill a zombie after equipping it and it logs your character location in the hive. Thereby fixing the issue of it resetting your co-ordinates causing you to spawn in the ocean upon rejoining a server. However whats happening in 1.7.2 is just stupid.

All you had to do to keep the ocean bug from happening before was kill a zombie so the hive logs your location Sean, it was never as bad as this.

Why does everyone assume the people giving real tactical advice are internet tough guys? They are giving you advice on how to counter their playstyle. SO FUCKING LISTEN TO IT. Here's how I play: 1. Watch. Look for movement, be it zombie or player, if a night server watch for flares or oddly colored shadows (Caused by chemlights) if you spot another player then-> 2. Observe: Not the same as watch, judge the survivor by their gear, mouse over and hear the heart rate, pay attention to their directions and body language. Are they running carelessly past zombies and losing them in housing? If so they are looking for something and want to find it quickly. Are they moving slowly and constantly looking around? They are looking for other players and doing the same thing you are, they may even know where you are. If after a good five minute lookout the player is gone or you don't see any unusual activity then you move onto-> 3. Move. Decide how to play it. If you are still worried about players looting like you, bring a zed train to possible locations then lose the zeds, as they will cause a reaction from the less stable players (fight or Disconnect) and give you info on their locations (once they stop looking for you they will wander towards the other nearest non aggro'd player. If you are worried about overwatch snipers then go slowly. don't make any suspicious movements occur from the zeds. -> now you are nearing your goal. you move onto 4. Listen. There are two hundred thousand other people playing this, odds are you aren't unique in your desires and someone may be in your objective zone, do your best to create a zombie foot step shuffle pattern when moving so as not to alert them. Odds are you will here them Walking, eating or drinking. 5: React. Now that you have as much info as you possibly can, choose your actions.

People complaining about "campers" killing others for a gun need to watch mad max. Seriously. People like killing. Its hardcoded into many of us. Many of us would kill others for sport given the opportunity.

I am getting desperate for a ghillie suit and have four tents I can sell for one. Please let me know if you are interested. (I have tried the Freeside trade website but everyone there has cancelled last minute) EDIT- I am also in possession of an MP5SD (3 mags as well) that I am willing to trade, this is a rare weapon, with fewer spawn locations than Ghillie. Also will throw in a map, compass, and watch to sweeten the deal. EDIT2- I now have a Ghillie, all though my partner still does not, so this trade is not as urgent as it was but is still open.

Thanks for the server restart tip. Bumped into a couple like minded server hoppers though, who alt F4'd as soon as they felt the tickle of my MP5. I have a ghillie now. Now all I need is a camo SVD.

All of the tents I have were found honestly, and honest players don't dupe. I only want to trade with honest players. Although I will add more options to the offer, as I was unaware of the ease of accidental duping.

I may start doing this as well. Sounds like a good bit of sport and I may rack up some bandit kills for it.
