  1. KoS is wasting ammo if you can avoid the conflict to begin with. Killing solitary players (especially on Namalsk) just means you have less bullets for actual THREATS. that guy running with the axe isn't going to catch you, but if you stop and try to shoot him he might get a hit in on you, and you've just wasted valuable med supplies, and if your gun isn't suppressed, well now you have a bunch of invisible bloodsuckers howling at you as you patch up. Those things are a threat. Those things can kill you quick.
  2. I still am a Hero on my public hive character. He's been alive for far too long at this point, but in Namalsk I am a vicious killer, I treat each and every armed player as a hostile combatant with the exception of a few. It clearly wasn't always this way, and I can easily identify the turning point. my 5 man crew was spread out over Namalsk, and trying to regroup at Lubjansk, as there was a helicopter there that I was keeping my eye on, and a crew member was repairing. (I was on overwatch with an M16A4 ACOG.) when an attack heli flew over I switched to my SVD camo I had in my bag, and waited, sure enough the heli began to fire on the heli we were repairing. but luckily the gunner was shit, and an m107 shot tore through the heli, and I opened fire with my svd. Needless to say the heli backed off. I began asking about the m107 shooter in side and someone responded, taking responsibility. He was immediately targeted by the clan piloting the helicopter, and I offered my protection to him, at about this time another member of my crew came into the treeline outside of lubjansk (this guy is still a bit of a pansy when it comes to helicopters so he refused to enter the town) Now we here another heli come by, this time my number three (lets call him Venz) So Venz spots it and calls out its a transport, the other guy with the m107 takes shots anyway (lets call him Meat) and two people parachute out. I switch back to my m16 and tell venz to make visual contact while I get a firing position, He reports that they fire first, even though he clearly didn't have an m107. So he returns fire and I wait for a good time. Venz takes a hit to the leg and the other guys start moving up, and I pop both, one with a clean headshot and the other with 4 shots on the chest, I patch venz up and finish fixing the chopper, we offer a ride to the crew we wiped out back to their corpses, and pick em up and take them back. and then they killed us all and destroyed the heli before we can even get out. Easily my fault. But they betrayed an act of kindness. It was about here that I realized that other people aren't worth the effort. "No one else is worth saving"- Our group's motto. Since this time we have won four firefights, no matter who fired the first shot. and haven't lost a one. Our group numbers have increased to ~7 people. We don't KoS. We shoot on threat. If you pose a threat, we will eliminate the threat. If you are hilariously injured, we'll patch you up and instruct you to run straight for 30 seconds while we GTFO. If you pin us down, you will be the first to do so. Since our group took this KoT (Kill on Threat) stance we haven't lost a firefight. Sure, we've lost people in firefights, but we always are the last men standing. Happy hunting.
  3. Well, this username is due to Orson Scott Card's excellent book "Xenocide" which greatly affected my mentality towards human interaction, My older DayZ name, Liquid Fox, is due to the fantastic game series Metal Gear, and how it stopped me from considering violence as a viable option in life. I mean, why by there when I can just avoid it? Slip by it? Be like water... Be a Fox. Its also in memory of Grey Fox, the most skilled member of FOXHOUND, and the most intelligent villain in gaming, Liquid Ocelot. My current name in DayZ is Pilot of Pripyat. He is a character I imagined for these forums and has his own separate persona (I write recreationally, creating personas isn't unusual for writers), based heavily on the guide Pilot from the STALKER franchise, the only guide so skilled he could get people through the worst anomalies, but he never worked for free. I liked his style, so I recreated him and began training newer players in DayZ but lots go further back shall we? My current XBL Gamertag is Infinifighter, representing my desire to go to Valhalla instead of heaven, Before that it was xixJackxix because I was trying to join a clan, and then I destroyed them during a clan match and was kicked out (I chose a third team and killed EVERYONE) before that it was Bubble-Wrap, because that covered my dad's room when he was setting up XBL for the original xbox (our family was one of the first) More recently people have been taking my Xeno names, so I sometimes go by Xenophyter. Which means something like alien worshipper, which is cool too.

Welcome To The Zone Newcomers! I am Pilot.

I'd like to say that Pilot has been of great assistance on the private hive I play on, and would recommend his services to anyone, why there was even a time that he assisted a complete stranger who shot him in the head after being given a weapon, and then pilot simply went helping more newcomers on the beach
  5. its quite fast, No red chain with 200 ping. Good server all around. But the admins wear silly hats.
  6. Having the same issue, trying to run ace and acre and my usual servers keep kicking me for ping, but when I join I have like 90 ping.

    Official DayZ Brony Meetup 3.0

May I haz question? I won't be able to play till the weekend, which I assume is when the next meetup will be
  8. Dan, your a bandit then? Hmm... You sound like a challenging hunt, one guy, well armed, and well versed in survival. Do you play on the weekends? We should both join the same server sometime and try to hunt another. It sounds like a lot of fun.
  9. Look, please read the "rocket says" thread. Your concerns have been addressed by the man himself already

    Time for a trader forum?

there are already sites to do that, and they do it better than this forum can. See Freeside Trading Co.: they make lists of all the users which abuse their system. On this forum alot of people would only meet bullets at the meetup location.
  11. And yet the amnesia devs used the money to hire more team members instead of increasing their pay, Bohemia itself seems focused on being able to take pride in their work. CD Projekt has stated that they started GoG.com because they missed the old games they played. People do things because they enjoy them, they charge for them because they have to eat. Don't marginalize every single company. Makes you sound like an idiot.
  12. I'm generally not a shoot on sight type of guy, but myself and my wingmen all have a standing policy of shoot all clan members on sight. I hate clans. I have never in my life met anyone in a clan who wasn't a pompous ass believing they were invincible and godlike up until we took their legs out from them. We even patched one up and dragged them into the nearby lake before they came to. Broken legs and no gear. Not so invincible.
  13. Dude, at least you kept your tools. Back in the bad DayZ I lost EVERYTHING. NVG's, M9SD, M4A1 CCO SD, you name it. I had it, and I lost it. A few times. NEVER to another player. Only to server errors. So cry me a river.
