Is there going to be a feature to tagg people as friendly?
Areos (DayZ) replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
I'm willing to go out on a limb here and say that the possibility of such a feature happening is next to never. It completely goes against the design philosophy of player interaction within the game world, and undermines the necessity of constant communication between members of a group. -

No. -
Can't wait until our characters are required to take a dump every other hour.

After constantly begging for days, we finally let a partner in our group fly us to our destination in the Huey. Never again.

If Combat Logging is going to be fixed...

Uh huh. -
The current implementation of the logout timer is trollish.

Think of logging out like your character sleeping. A bandit could be stalking you through the woods for the perfect opportunity to take your possessions, and what easier way than to wait for you to shut your eyes for the night? A quick slice across the throat and all your gear is now his.- 162 replies

Playing intelligently = scumbag banditry. Playing like a gullible moron = paragon of virtue. You must be one of those people who run around Balota Airfield yelling friendly. -

What the Hell does honor have to do with anything? Nobody is going to bother living up to your empty definition of honor in a game at cutthroat as DayZ, because that will get you killed the vast majority of time. By all means, enjoy the view up on your pedestal of self-righteous moral values, but please do it on the next server I'm on as well; I could use a few extra cans of beans. -
In the future, we should be able to create safezones for people to trade, learn and commune in.

Too many issues with this suggestion to make it a viable option for future content. -
Any daytime servers that wont reset character?

Spam-connect a high population server until you finally connect to it. Chances are it's highly-populated because it's both daytime and part of the public hive. -

Well this new patch sucks, can't find anything

You have no idea how bad my OCD goes off when looking at my M4. It's horrible. It's actually called making bee lines from Balota to the military bases up north and finally into NW Airfield. But hey, let's continue to make baseline assumptions here. -
There's nothing inherently wrong with the night time and how dark it gets. There's everything wrong with the very limited number of tools that make night-based gameplay viable, and the ones that do exist are either clunky or very buggy in their current iteration. Flashlights are decent, but leave you dangerously vulnerable to infected and especially other survivors. The headtorch is virtually useless when a weapon is aimed forward/when crouched/when prone because the player's head looks downward during these times, making the headtorch look down towards the ground instead of forward. The portable gas lamp is extremely illuminating, but this also makes you an extremely obvious target to other survivors and zombies aggro onto you from everywhere around you. Not to mention that light from these sources is unrealistic in how they disperse throughout a room--a flashlight turned on in a dark room is going to illuminate the entire room due to rays of light bouncing off every available surface, yet light seems to only illuminate the surface it's pointed at, and nothing else. In reality, the only truly viable means of playing on a night server at this time is by using a weapon flashlight. Once these issues are fixed, I guarantee night servers will become a lot more popular than they are now. At this time, however, the tools simply aren't functional enough to work. In due time.

Your peripheral vision is obstructed a lot less while using the BUIS in comparison to the handle-based iron sight, so I recommend using it if you come across one. At this time, I'm looking for an undamaged ACOG scope, which I feel is the best optic to use for the M4A1.
