Hello! so im not new to DayZ but I have always had performance issues, but im only recently discovering how bad my system performs compared to others out there, no matter what I get around 13-15 fps in cities like elektro, berezino, svet, etc all the bigger ones, but once im out in the forests and on the roads I get a nice 50-70 fps... here are my system specs GPU: Nvidia GTX 980 CPU: AMD FX 8350 x8 core 4Ghz RAM: 16 Gigs PSU: 750W OS: Windows 7 64-bit I run the game just about on the lowest settings besides resolution and I make sure im not running anything else in the background that would be hogging CPU usage... I've heard that AMD processors just don't run the game as well and that's fine but I know people who run the game at around 25-30 frames in cities and they have a lesser AMD CPU than mine... so im really curious if there are any system tweaks that I can do to help my situation other than just upgrading to an Intel CPU... So my brother just bought DayZ after me badgering him to join me for months, and he gets it installed everything goes great until he tries to join a server... no servers show up for him, he tried setting his filters to allow everything, still nothing. when he tries joining me through steam it loads for a bit then says "the game status is unavailable" we tried multiple public servers and got the same message. verified his files, resinstalled, rebooted... nothing seems to work... I cant tell if its a DayZ issue, Battleye, or Steam problem causing this to happen... anyone got any ideas? please let me know if you need anymore info to make a proper diagnosis thanks!

Hello all! I have recently gotten heavily into streaming DayZ with my buddies Nomad and Giraffe as well as some other survivors, we dont have a set play style but we love to get into action as well as just survive and hang out while scavenging for supplies! twitch.tv/caseface5

I have an Idea... who gives a shit if its got a lot of american elements its got a lot of russian elements. the game needs to appeal to a wide variety of players. and sorry to say but a huge chunk of DayZ players are American. so why not give Americans something to enjoy in the game... not only that. they have pepsi and coke cola in every country... yes ill admit they need to diversify the clothing. why there is a backwards american flag on the tactical shirt is beyond me, but im sure they will get around to adding more cultural diversity of clothing and items... but back to my point... who the hell cares... its a damn video game... whats important should be things like gameplay and fixing current bugs... and for gods sake putting the Z back in DayZ the game is about zombies. PS: There is no official backstory to DayZ either so no one really knows the world that DayZ takes place in... it could be an alternate universe where America and Russia were Heavily importing and Exporting items to each other before the apocalypse... ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

its also an early development picture so most likely it was just a placeholder from the mod. but who knows they might add it in or at least something like it

Im not the first to say it, but try playing US servers... they are freaking horrible... its a pain in the ass being a nice american...

I dont know my real blood type... not only that if I did and I came across someone and needed blood and they didnt know their blood type you would still need to test...

im sure when they have a semi stable build they will focus on rebuilding the zombies and release a patch that will just completly change zombies and makes them properly work. If they dont... I will be one sad panda... cause the whole reason I play DayZ is for the zombie apocalypse experience

Byze and his group are by far the funniest DayZ players out there... Ive been following their vids since Byze started uploading Mod footage... great stuff!

so correct me if im wrong but...basically you posted this to show people that your a huge asshole? only a huge douche would post an 8 second video of him murdering a completly defensless fresh spawn and naming the video "A ha ha"

would be cool... but I dunno... maybe they just thought it would add a navigational aspect to the map for people who are lost... come across the railroad and follow it your bound to end up getting somewhere. but eventually a working train would be pretty awesome.. I can just see the epic battles taking place as bandits chase the train down in pick-up trucks trying to kill everyone on it and the train riders shooting out the train cars to defend the train :) would make for some awesome madmax style moments

Honestly I wish we could get in on some action like this... with the knives, screwdriver, bayonets, etc... some sort of lock in animation when using the knife to let us just stab the bastards right in the brian... I'd even be cool with it if we had to wait for the zombie to go down before we could pull the knife out... because its definetly not as easy as the walking dead makes it look to just stab someone in the skull and pull the knife right back out like you just stabbed jello or something... but perphaps waiting till the zombie goes down then picking up the knife would make it a little less OP

Sometimes I feel like this... but then I start to get a little bored of playing ultra safe... and just start walking around in towns without taking too much notice of if there is another player around lol... havent died in a while though still... ive been lucky enough to only meet friendlies...

Should just be able to hack saw the current wood splitter to be shorter and free up room in your bag, but reduce the range of the weapon. but increase the speed at which it can be swung? maybe...

every game has hackers... deal with it... no anti cheat system is perfect, and this is still an alpha game. just be glad there is any anti-cheat at all let alone 2 layers of protection... personally Ive never even had any interaction that could be called hacking since the alpha was released... guess thats just me...

yea I keep hoping they add more holster options... would love a thigh holster or even a hip holster :) would love to stick a sawn off in a leg holster and be like Mad Max :)

Yes to vehicles. no to ridiculous vehicles. no damn shiny beautiful cars driving around everything should look pretty close to the current "dead" vehicles in the game. rusty and a bit roughed up. And I dont care what anyone says, there better be air vehicles too... not a lot of them obviously but its unrealistic to not have a single helicopter or plane in the game considering there are what? 3 Air feilds on the map... but like Rocket has already stated the Planes and Choppers should be a lot more difficult to pilot... that way it balances out... as for the cars, trucks, and bikes of the game... they should definetly be more of them in the map than how they were in the stock DayZ mod... BUT be harder to fix up... parts in the mod were way too easy to find... I Think a lot of people are scared vehicles will ruin the game... but I think its just highly unrealistic that just because there is a zombie apocalypse that sudden all vehicles just became exploded wrecked corpses of cars... I think there should easily be enough vehicles throughout the map for everyone as well... Im not trying to say the game should be like GTA and just have a spam of drivers doing stupid shit everywhere there should definetly be a sense of "this is my vehicle I need to take care of it" not a "LOLZ I RAMMED YOUR SHIT WITH MY BIGGER SHIT!" the end.

It could be 5 minutes for all I care if they would make it possible to snag backpacks from bodies and take them to a safer place

I used to call Berezino my "hometown" but now its full of new spawn turds running around trying to axe me to death... not a fan of the new spawn locations...

I think Ill take the advice, I havent visited Zelengorsk in a while...
