Playing dayz again, and i am a bit confused about versions..

as the title says, i recently started playing the dayz mod again and i noticed that i was running 1.63.112555 but pretty much every server was running 1.63.125548. i then saw that dayz commander doesnt work right because GameSpy got shot down. i also saw that the new update is apparently steam only. i bought my game through Gamestop so i guess i don't have the option to update, my question is, since all servers are using 125548 now, does that mean that all dayz players who didn't buy arma through steam can no longer play dayz? or do we have to update a different way, if there is any way? -

yeah, i tried launching the game through dayz commander and all the servers were gray, indicating i can't join them, then sometimes, the would turn white, but the version would change, i don't know what's going on really, i just want to be able to play dayz again. i guess ill try to update manually. -

i second the notion of trying DayZero. it's the closest thing you can get to "old" dayz in my opinion. zombies hit harder, run faster, and are much harder to lose. You bleed more and take more damage, the weapon damage ratios have been modified. Basically, all weapons are very deadly now. ( some more than others). it's a challenege, you really get that "feel" for survival again, so i'd say give it a shot. it's well worth it. (Not to mention, it runs better than normal dayz :thumbsup: ) -
I love this mod, sure there is way more KoS then most other servers, but it brings back days to what it once was. I can appreciate that, not only that. But it gave my FPS is significant boost. So playing this is pretty good. Also, the new weapons look pretty boss, along with their sounds.

i am not sure if this belongs here, but i thought id give it a shot. anywho, what version of battleye is the game currently running, on the site it says 1.204 but when i start the game, it says 1.203. am i outdated? or is that version something totally different?

so today i ran into a problem i ran into awhile ago, however the solution i used last time isnt working this time. to start. i was playing on US4 on the DayZERO servers. when i joined it would play smooth, no problems until it says "Battleye Client: Server requiring client version _______ Up-to-date" and it would show my GUID aswell, as soon as that popped up, my game would then jump from 30fps to about 1, then back to 30, then back 1 and so on until my ping got high enough to the point the game would kick me. i don't know why it's doing this, and hoped someone on here might be able to point me in the right direction

both are AVG2013, i use gamebooster and it disables it during gaming though, so im not sure if that's it. besides, i've had it running before while playing and it's always worked just fine -
I can honestly wait. I'm not sure what is to become of DayZ. But lets see, one reason they are taking alot longer is because of the events that transpired with warZ, the shitty knockoff. I bet the devs are just putting more polish on the game until they themselves are satisfied with the end product. Now, to mention game play at E3 and such is still not enough to justify that that is how the game is going to be like, during that game play, I saw so much wrong that it was blatantly obvious the game was in early stages. Give it time, know one really knows what to expect just yet.

Okay this is my first rig so my question is could I run days and arma 3 and how high. mobo: biowware tz77b 1155 CPU: Intel i5 ivybridge 3.4ghz 3.8 with turbo gpu: EVGA GTX 650ti BOOST 2gb power: gigabyte greenmax 550w supply ram: gskill ripjaw xseries 8gb (2x 4gb sticks) memory: western digital 500gb HD (black) with that, can anyone give me some numbers?

Hey everyone, I've been gone for a pretty long time and have only recently started playing dayz again, I immediately noticed however, that some zombies are super hard to kill. I mean I remember when zombies used to get 1 hit ko's on you, but yesterday I shot 10 stanag rounds into a zombie before he died. In another instance, I shot a zombie 3 times with a dmr before he went down, what's up with all that?

hey everyone, well i ran into the problem again and last time, it went away by itself, as i didn't do anything. this time though, im not so lucky. For some reason when i try to play, i get into a server and every second or so my FPS jumps from about 35 to 4. so it repeats a cycle of 35-4-35-4-35-4 and so on until i get kicked for my ping being to high. i've already tried uninstalling BE and the current Version of ARMA2OA and then reinstalling which usually fixes it, but no success. Any ideas anyone? okay, so i took a screenshot of what it looks like as soon as i start lagging. when it's restarting and installing the BE client it has no lag, but as soon as it's done and shows "client up to date" and my GUID. i lag the the point where my game kicks me off the server.

id like to see a "army of 2" styled approach. Think about it. Instead of finding a gun just barebones and having to collect the specific attachments for it. Have the ability to add parts to the gun even if they aren't exact fit. A makeshift, player created weapon. Each thing you add could increase or decrease the weapons performance. This would also add lots of variety to the weapons you can have in game

played on this server for about 2 days now and i think this is becoming my new favorite private hive, keep it up guys -
Here's what i did: 1. Take out all contents from the tent 2. Run it over so that it flattens so the game recognizes it as "destroyed" (as this will destroy any contents you have inside) 3. on the next server start, it should be back up again, as if it weren't destroyed. if the option is given, pack it and place it again 4. Store all your gear again, it should work properly now. im not sure this works for everyone, but it worked for me, i had a tent that was constantly respawning everything taken out, keep in mind, this tent was filled with high grade weapons (m4 sd, m107, m40a3, As50) that kinda thing. i tried this method and it worked fine again, without duping or deleting.

I think it can be toggled, i played on a KGB server that had it enabled. If it has custom loot spawns, "soldiers Clothing" also has it, "camo clothing" is a legit item that can be found on ANY server, unless disabled, but aside from that, there is no other skin/clothing that offers any form of bullet protection.
